Just a fyi ghost aiming is a thing still.. which literally just looks like lucky shots. was huge in cod.
If they don't remedy this within the next week or two everyone will stop playing because it isn't worth the time to waste multiple matches a session preventing any possibility of getting on a winning streak and climbing. I wonder if these changes to the MMR have actually caused this because now it's "harder" to climb.

You're right, he's wrong. Hip firing on Ana is less accurate and her hip fire is projectile, so it takes time to travel which could mean life or death for a dps in a duel. Scoped in is hitscan.

Non scoped is faster firing I think? In an ideal world, you wouldn't have to scope but realistically especially when you are playing far away (as you should) it being hitscan is quite relevant when you are hitting people moving between things that obscure your vision, you physically can't no scope and there isn't danger in doing so
whats annoying to is they are invading casual and arcade modes so no where is safe to play

had a widow/bastian cheater in my plat game. Started telling everyone how he is gm and just smurfing. I checked replay and the first thing i saw was him tracking my grapel through the wall… very frustrating playing against a cheater that also flames

It's not likely, but it's a possibility, happened once while I was playing cs go, although usually the servers are working good enough so if it happens it might be a hacker, but it can also be the server crashing

Nah they wouldn't be able to play on NA servers if they bought a KR account. The chances of them happening to buy a NA account with Korean name is astronomically low. The name literally means something to the effect of "I'll handle it"/"I got it", they definitely have a huge ego and chose that name.
If blizzard doesn’t fix this problem Overwatch 2 is unironically on the path to becoming like TF2. This is getting egregious and they’re literally doing NOTHING about it. This is a billion dollar company. The fact that they’re this bad at stopping hackers is genuinely embarrassing and pathetic.
In all fairness TF2's got its own issues rn. I heard the bot problem over there *actually* involved the FBI.
COD has a hacker infestation. They literally were held hostage by some hackers who were stealing from players and that is the biggest game in the world. It’s clearly something technology in general isn’t capable of fully preventing yet no matter how rich they are. Online gaming is still relatively new. Humanity is a work in progress have some patience.

Same shit happened in Apex Legends and the reason i left. Also stopped watching apex pro play, after a hacker got access to the apex server on a LAN and gave cheats to pro players. Its crazy
The valve servers on Tf2 have the bot issue but it’s not as bad cause there’s community servers that have bot preventing measures in place so I usually play map rotating causal servers, I don’t think overwatch has that level of community servers up so the cheating issue is gonna hit hard

It’s insane how many cheaters there are right now. Last week me and my friends stacked up to play ranked for the first time this season. I kid you not, the first game we get into, both dps on the enemy team are hard locking with walls. Told the enemy team but we couldn’t do anything since it was KotH/Control. Ended up losing the game, everyone reported the cheaters but I don’t have high hopes that they’ll get banned anytime soon.

The best moment I had relating to this was months ago where I saw a rare instance of honor in a ranked game. An enemy Reinhardt started throwing and when asked why at the end, he said because there was a cheater on his team and he didn’t want him to win

If you see an Ashe in Silver/Gold get that many headshots while running around spamming hip fire with hilariously wide damage spread, but can't even aim at and hit their own dynamites, you should know they're cheating 100%. At that point, you report them and hope that Blizzard ends the game. At higher ranks you can ask for mass reports and people may comply, and agree to a draw. At low ranks, this generally isn't possible as low elo players want the free win so they can "rank up out of elo hell." Lol. I wouldn't even call them out in match chat, as it will only trigger their teammates to pocket and protect them while he hands them the free win. It has always been like that in this game... Since at least 2017 when I started playing, this has been the case.

It sucks because this is a problem that is plagueing all shooters and none of these companies want to admit how hard they're failing at preventing or even banning these accounts in any meaningful way.
When blizzard says they banned 50k cheaters that's really just a ton of spoofed or bought accounts that will come right back because the cheater hides their IP address or does any number of things to prevent getting a real perma ban. 50k could be as few as 5 thousand cheaters with 10 alts, but they'd never admit this because it would highlight how helpless they are to uphold the integrity of their games. They're foolish to brag about these ban waves. All it's telling us is "hey our game is consistently riddled with cheaters to the point we can fake brag about banning x amount every few months." It's a pathetic tell and they're too foolish to read between the lines of their own bs.
There's only so much you can do to ban people without breaching deeper into users computers. This situation was a contentious issue with games like Valorant. Riot uses kernel level anti-cheat detection which is absurdly invasive by monitoring all of your PCs activity even when the game isn't running. Yeah, you'd be able to identify malware directly, but it comes at a really high cost. Also, to solidify bans more, you'd have to grant them accsess to your hardware information which would allow them to hardware ban users spoofing their IP.
Them "bragging" about banning what they can without intruding on your personal privacy should be considered a win if you care at all about not having literally all of your data mined by a company.
Developers are playing a game where they are always behind. They have to play catch-up to cheat softwares. Your expectations, while based in valid concern, are probably a bit too high.

@@concinnus No matter the cost, there will always be cheaters. 30 dollar price tag (without insane regional discounts) was just a way higher entry bar. In a perfect world they would try and find the perfect middle ground but that doesn't boost sales as much as going f2p
@@epileptix8954 HWID bans are great, I think all F2P games should have them to some extent. Helps stop the majority of cheaters that can't figure out spoofing.

Watching this hacker is just painful man. They have the hardest aimbot I have ever seen and still they didn't even add that much value to their team on offense. They also spammed unscoped with Ashe which confused the hell out of me, like why not play soldier or cass at that point? Also I'm not even that good at the game but holy hell was their positioning atrocious

I was in a couple of QP games a few days ago and thought the servers were dying or something was wrong with my PS5. After seeing this and ML7’s video, it may have been cheats. That’s wild. I honestly thought it was something on my end even though it’s never happened before.
Just gonna say that ban waves are bad for consumers and good for devs, I can understand ban waves in PVE games like WoW but PVP, they should be banned immediately

Ban waves make it harder for the cheat devs to identify which cheat got the player banned.
@@_nahwhat It makes it harder for the cheat devs, but lets say you ban them in waves per month. That's a month of irritation from the players causing people to quit. If you know the cheater that killed you got banned after the game you feel good about it.
@@thundercake9407 but you understand that the game devs are between a rock and a hard place at that point, right? If they make a system that bans cheaters immediately, the cheat devs will figure out how they're being detected and come up with a quick fix. If they ban them in waves so the cheat devs have a harder time figuring out why their cheats are being detected, players suffer because they have to deal with cheaters for weeks or months on end. It's lose-lose for the game devs, and this is happening in most competitive games.
Cheat devs are cockroaches, and it sucks that there's a demand from a group of losers that will pay them any amount of money to be artificially better at a video game. I don't even know how they can deal with them besides suing them IRL, and that's hard because I imagine most of the cheat devs are anonymous and have no traceable Internet identity. It sucks that we, the consumers, have to deal with it, but we should be mindful that there's a very dark underbelly to the integrity of competitive gaming.
@@joecon601 Yeah I'm just saying that the devs should just ban immediately even if they give the cheat devs an idea how to bypass because then it gives the consumer (the gamers) a better experience. If you ban in waves it's just going to make the player base hate the game due to the amount of cheaters piling up and leave.
Anti-cheat is on vacation and report system is literal ass. I got suspended after dps duo reported me for saying: Can you do something with flanking reaper, cause he's killing us in the backline" (i was the support). I don't know how to give comms if I can be reported and suspended for something like this.

You know what the worst part about people that say "oh i could be so much higher if i had good aim" is when they cheat?
They don't even put in the time to learn game sense, AND NOT EVEN TO OPEN A FUCKING FREE AIM TRAINING PROGRAM LIKE AIMLABS AND BE CONSISTENT AT IT FOR A WHILE. And they just complain, and use cheats instead, because it's the easy route.

Me and my duo were trying to climb to masters and on my rank up game from d4 we got a game where a duo or trio wasnlaggin the server everytime we approached payload. It would be amooth sailing until we reached payload, then younjust see everyone start floating. The funny thing is we still almost won

Blizzard needs to do what CS:GO did with their game. CS:GO had something, funnily enough, called "overwatch". They turned to their player base and gave select people the ability to watch reported replays and judge whether someone was cheating or not. I don't know if the ones "overwatching" reports had the final say to ban potential cheaters or if they went to an actual employee for the final say but cheating in OW2 is getting to that point where they need to actively be doing something about it. The players that sign up for it don't even have to be paid, most would do that shit for free. I know I would.

In Halo you can team kill when the cheater is stuck on your team which I do with a vengeance. One of them in retaliation made our game lag just like that clip.
I called out a widow for doing a similar thing to this while hardscoped the other day, because the flick to my head then to my teammates in the span of like 2 seconds was unbelievable, and in the last couple rounds they suddenly had bad aim. they got potg for the double headshot and even their team was like tf?💀
They should give the top streamers a 24 hour ban ability button. You guys are in the frontlines and probably know how to spot a cheater better than whoever they would hire to do such a job.
bro I had the exact same thing happen to me in the final clip I was playing gold support and someone went out of their way to crash the entire server just so they wouldn't lose rank because they were so bad and calling everyone else trash the entire time
I knew it!! Twice on comp, right as my team was about to win the server just started lagging and the whole game flipped and the game had been flawless ping wise up until that point. Luckily the second time, they were so ass it didn't work but I had a guttural feeling something fishy was going on. Shit was disheartening.

i think the anti cheat being “on vacation” is bc, at the start of the season, there was a huge wave of ppl getting banned for nothing, so they turned off the automated ban system while they try to figure out the problem.
Manual reviewers should play a big part in cheat detection, especially when it’s so blatant like this. They should have someone manually spectating a player after so many reports for cheating in a certain period of time (especially when both teams report it)

Game started, I got insta two tapped by a Cassidy (which never happens to me, as I have good game sense/positioning). I instantly called them out for cheating. They denied it, but turned off the cheats, as was apparent when we rolled them the entire rest of the game.
Cheaters on console were so rare in OW1. Now I see at least one almost daily.

I had a game where something similar happened with lag, the enemy team was fine but my whole team was lagging and my friend got kicked and couldn't join back even though the game was still ongoing
Me and two other friends who have played since the launch of OW, have recently quit because its out of control. We have seen it in the QP / low ranks for a long time, but its finally made it to the main stream where it is effecting everyone. This may seem like it has gotten worse, but I can tell you that 75%+ of our games in QP since the launch of OW2 had suspected cheaters, and we report people almost every single game. Get the thanks for reporting every week, yet nothing seems to happen...
ML7 also had DDOS happening while in comp and i also had cheater hard aimlocking. damn, this is really cursed..

Best way to deal with a cheater is just any turret characters, theyre either not gonna shoot it and get deleted or turn around for it and get deleted
I started playing OW again when it went free to play after having TF2 be neglected by the company behind it, the bots ruining the game, and the updates being non existent and I'm seeing it happen again

once i had an ashe cheater on the enemy team, but halfway through the game my team suddenly started throwing, i asked why they said it's because we have a cheater... turns out, OUR bastion turned on his aimbot to counter the enemy's aimbot but my team and probably the whole lobby only saw bastion's aggression and i lost for no reason lol
There's this Thor short where he talks about how when banning cheaters and bots Blizzard used to do it in waves so the cheaters don't know what got them caught and he said they'd do it every 6 months and I thought it sounded really smart.
But then I also kinda thought about it and realised that between ban waves the game would get progressively worse for the players and they will start to feel like nothing is being done.
I've no idea if this is the case for OW2 where they're waiting to get them all at once but if they are, it's not worth it.
