Ah... my favorite Wolf3d engine game. Yay, you finally did Blake Stone! One of the main FPS games of my childhood. Wolf 3D (shareware), Blake Stone (shareware), Doom, Heretic, and Duke3D were my favorites, and I've been wondering when Blake Stone would make an appearance on your channel. Thanks for playing Blake Stone! I was 5 or 6 when I first played Blake Stone, and I'll tell you, the rooms with the infinite spawning plasma monsters terrified me. im so glad you did Blake Stone, because i tried replaying it recently and it has been the ONLY game EVER to give me full on motion sickness! thank you so much!
This is INSANITY. My stepdad called this “kids doom” when I was a kid, and let us play it (and we watched him play real doom). I remembered all the sprites and artwork but decades later I went to search “kids doom” and only things like Chex Quest showed up. I’ve tried at least 6 times over the years to go down rabbitholes that could ring a bell and show me my memory was right and this wasn’t imaginary. You just unintentionally unlocked a whole treasure trove of childhood memories I thought I might never find. And no wonder, the title of this game is something I never ever ever could guess
Kind of curious, wasn't it Civvie that coined the term 'Boomer Shooter'? If so it's kinda funny that the Boltgun trailer refers to itself as a 'Boomer Shooter', like Civvie has successfully invented a genre name.
I have some really great memories of playing this game. My dad was kind of a tech nerd and while I didn't get a console until I was twelve, I did get to play tons of Apogee and ID software games downstairs in what you could describe as a computer dungeon. I had a Commodore 64 and an IBM that ran DOS games. Dad would sit up all night downloading shareware for me and Blake Stone and Wolfenstein 3D were my favorites. Dad knew what he was doing; teaching his boy that both capitalism run amok and fascism were both bad things that you could remedy with lots of heavy firepower! Thanks, Civvie 11 for bringing back those good times with this episode. 👍😎
Hell yeah. Can’t wait for next video. Hilarious that the heads up display takes up the screen to reduce draw size and is not a design they made by choice. Form following function.
If I’m not mistaken, the silent pistol does extra damage to unaware enemies, meaning you can sneak up and oneshot a few basic guards without alerting enemies. Basic protostealth mechanics as well! Too bad there are precious few occasions to do this
Civvie’s guards have seen enough from him that they know if they gave him his requested shock, it would be more pleasurable than painful. It’s all about the shock factor

Civvie coming through with a new video, making my lame work day a million times better. You're the man, CV.
#FreeCivvie
Hey, Civvie! I just wanted to say that all of the stuff you make is genuinely some of the most enjoyable content online I've found, and that if you ever start feeling burnt out from making these so quickly, then don't worry about us if you wanna take a break! Sometimes I get the feeling that your fans really get on your nerves about making videos on things ASAP, but I don't want you to end up hating everything you do, so if you can, make sure to take it easy from time to time!
Ah... my favorite Wolf3d engine game. And definitely in my top 3 "Boomer Shooters" (along with Blood and Heretic)
I had no idea Planet Strike existed until recently and it's the first time in 10 years I'd felt excitement 😅
Srsly, just watching this review fills me with joy ❤🎉
Edit: I have the OST in mp3 format and listen to it regularly 😁
Yay, you finally did Blake Stone! One of the main FPS games of my childhood. Wolf 3D (shareware), Blake Stone (shareware), Doom, Heretic, and Duke3D were my favorites, and I've been wondering when Blake Stone would make an appearance on your channel. Thanks for playing Blake Stone!
I was 5 or 6 when I first played Blake Stone, and I'll tell you, the rooms with the infinite spawning plasma monsters terrified me. I would just run to the other door, my heart pounding the entire way through. 🤣
Civvie 11: "I admire your courage ms?"
Katie: "Sixteen. Ms. Sixteen. I admire your sarcasm mr?"
Civvie 11: "Eleven, Civvie Eleven"
3:28 - Sean Connery personation part 1
15:19 - Sean Connery personation part 2
im so glad you did Blake Stone, because i tried replaying it recently and it has been the ONLY game EVER to give me full on motion sickness! thank you so much!
Have to hand it to Civvie, that James Bond homage is just top-tier stylish.
"UA-cam wouldnt like it if I put F-bomb in the title"
It would be cool if YT created this app called YT kids instead of restricting swearing
fr, we learned nothing from the PMRC debacle and have only regressed from there in terms of censorship
The pendulum swings, wait another decade and we're all either going to be swearing up a storm or get fined and jailed for saying "fuck".
The algorithm requires a family reunion anecdote.
Man I'd love to see your take on Chex Quest.
I loved this game growing up. Appreciate the video
Civvie is a boomer shooter historian
I still say theyre GenX
I remember playing the BS series on my 386 at back in 93 young teen
486 sorry
@@TjM1978 No one cares, boomer...
0:58 That alien is clearly green. Where my gold aliens at?
Behind paywalls
2:20 No, he just worries about getting shanked and having acid thrown in his face.
This episode brought some light/Hope to me
Impressive UI and gameplay for the tek-knowlogies the had
Pure emotions from Civvie, pinnacle of editing from jazzprog-Katie
P.S.: I played the crap out of WOLF3D on my 386-ATX, this is pure alloy of nostalgia and missed great stuff
