    Glad to see someone with appropriate PPE...too many people welding barehanded in short sleeves. I am a fan of using a PAPR also.

      @@shaunybonny688 3M ADFLO system is the way to go. I use the one with built in hard hat and have a clear shield for it as well.

      @@FixinCat that sounds pretty sweet, I’ve seen some with the built in hard hat, I should’ve thought about that, I ended up just getting a Lincoln electric Viking hood with the papr blower and stuff.

    Awesome to see someone who knows exactly what he is doing. I am a bit worried about your 1 handed grinder work on the root prep on the previous vid though!!! Great video for young piping engineers to understand how much effort is involved in fabricating a simple pipe spool. Keep the videos coming!!

    Dude, that internal flange fit up tool looks so useful, i need to get one, this is the first time i've ever seen one, i always have a hell of a time trying to hold them up with a hackstand and maintain my gap and the level and tack it all at the same time lol. this will help so much.

      @@OMGitsjulian1 They're called Spider Clamps. In one his videos where he talks about his tools around the welding bay, he mentions it for like 10 seconds and moves on. They are fucking expensive, and google will try to show you glass framing Spider Clamps. So throw in the word Welding Spider Clamp or something.

      Usually that shows the line the level is touching, id rather level everything to a line rather then guess the middle of the bubble

    How do you weld that far back from the pipe I have to be right up to it to see. I see that big bottle of booze is that for the end of the day or to help the day go by lol. I use to work a second job at a machine shop welding the boss there would bring me beers its was hot and believe me they would go down smooth.

      Its downhand mig and i have yet to see a pic of the inside after its welded. The kids at my work do those jobs. Except any good welder would make a 90 holder because welding on random fittings is a no-no.

    Imagine how sweet thay job would be if you had a rotator with a pedal I'm sure you can pick them up fire like 400 500 quid? Only a small one but it'll do that small pipe easy

      The type of pipes i do vary so much on a day to day, that it's easier to turn it by hand, but i am thinking to make my own rotating platform.

      EN1090 tested in HLO45 position with a supplementary PF position fillet, or ASME tested in 6G position. Depends which standards youd be working to👍

      Times and technology has changed and moved on and dragging is acceptable for the purposes of the work im doing, when i drag too it allows me to get deeper root Penetration

      Hell no you know that’s low pressure piping, probably water pipe but he’s proficient for what he’s doing. That would never fly in a vessel shop

      The sector (nucléar. Army etc) need x ray Welding on a piping with 1 bar or 300.
      This video saw a fast method, fast = $

      thats it, all this work is for low pressure systems and we use mig for speed too, we made 9000 spools in one year

      ARC-ONE WELDING i work in this job, i ´m a pipefitter, but french and m’y english is bad, spools ? We speak in inch for you i think, but every time with TIG system, low pressure or not (urban heating exemple)
      And we make 40/120 inch per day. Cadence change with the employers (i’m a temporary employee/interim) and work 11/12 month per year

      in my country in this line of work you have to "steal" the knowledge
      and he is allowing that
      hence tips and tricks
      you just gotta know what you don't know and if he does it
      like im sure hes welding with using 98% argon 2% CO2 for better penetration

      Yeah I’m in America working in the oil industry. If we touch outside the bevel with anything, even a grinder. We have to cut the piece out and start over. It’s stupid as hell IMO. I try to get away with it when inspectors aren’t around, it’s not hurting anything at all
