Correct me if I'm wrong because this tacho shit still 'does my head in'.
1. You park up at dock and end shift (UK) - switch to bed/rest
2. You put tacho to boat/train to drive on boat. When stopped on boat put tacho back to rest. (Must have access to bunk)
3. Switch back to boat/train to leave ferry (These two (ferry/train) interruptions cannot add up to more than 1hr)
4. Park up and back to rest/bed
5. Begin shift after rest (F).
If your shift is over 12hrs when you arrive at ferry/train you cannot use ferry train mode because you need to take 11hrs off in 24?
One tip I will give you from knowing other UK/European drivers is if you can in the future, get yourself a fridge trailer. Even if its just for a back load through France on a Sunday, instead of sitting til their bans over. There are plenty of loads going both ways as well so thats a bonus. And the Fish from Scotland is very well paid as well. Peterhead has plenty Aberdeen and Larkhall have (DFDS) both running to Europe and UK.
I still remember my dad's reg, he drove for G.w Clark from Wimblington, cambs, 112m scania C686 RRT, had it new, loved it 👌

Hi bud. Liked the vid, nice to see something a bit different. Driving myself but just UK work. Europe looks a bit daunting to be honest.
Could you maybe do a video along the lines of:
You’ve got a load to collect from Italy and what you’d do to prepare for it. I.e. selecting routes, working out costs, what documents you need, booking euro tunnel or ferry etc etc etc. It’s all interesting stuff to us mere mortals plodding up and down the M6 most days.

Just watched you trip up to the Mont Blance, remember doing that trip towing the caravan, Grey and rainy on French side , come out on Italian side beautiful and sunny. You talked about going up mountain on a chairlift etc , we have been over Mont Blance in a cable car. Fantastic, looking down on the view below , people look like pencils . At the top at Aquila de midi ( not sure of spelling ) people are fainting etc due to rarified air . A great experience.

Great vlog 😊I’m the same as you not a great schooling so driving a HGV has given me a fantastic living and seeing lots of Europe for free 😂 The big down side like you say no family life as my first wife ran off with the next door neighbor 😢 The down side he was a Man U season ticket holder and I’m a City supporter 😆 I lived in Royton in Balmoral av so I know of your dads transport company Howarth. Im 65 now and coming to the end of my time and lucky enough to be working for a mobile medical company out of Trafford Pk driving a Daffy Duck XF106 with a stick lol 😆 So watching you travel round Europe gives me happy memories 😊Cheers Stevie 👍🏻
I like your attitude for a 28 year old. Your very organised and professional. Good luck to you. Your doing great and are a credit to yourself. I'm a 57 year old truck driver in uk. Would like to drive in Europe but only for a week after that I think I'd want to chill with a beer🤣🤣. But I take my hat off to you. Keep up with the positivity you'll be sat in Barbados soon enough 🤣. 👍👍

Been the 20/30 something owner operator myself. You hit the nail on the head with "you ruin your life". That £850 a week is for 24 hours a day away from your home and family and for time you'll never get back. Your other half, your kids will soon tire of doing Halloween, Xmas and big occasions alone. Age 30 your metabolism will hit the wall and the effects of sitting on your arse all day and moving in a Tin can 2406 will pay it's toll. I'm sure there's smart retorts and living the dream comments but that's my experience. Put up with work you may not prefer and be home with your family

I’m from croydon, traffic is really not that bad in the morning. It’s nothing like city centre! To get from west croydon - east croydon is like 10 minutes!
