Enjoyed your vlog David. Been their done it in the eighties and nineties, 15 years. Had several trucks, lots of stress and sleepless nights especially if you get a bad driver, cost you big time. Had one go under a low bridge was a curtain sider came back a flat bed. In my opinion better on your own dude. All the best do what you think is right. Keep the videos coming.😝👍
Brutal truth. Struggled alot with the same back in africa, n just got grounded in the end by the constant breakdowns n customers not paying up, the lack of work, and still having to pay staff from your own pocket while having nothing coming in. Kept the faith, but after 9 years, i just packed up n starting out again as a worker. The more trucks you have on the road, the more the stress levels shoot up, and the trucks end up being a money pit. Loved the days i had one truck on the road, less stress n at least i could bring food back to the family's table.

Jewz thats crazy money to get a truck licence. Ireland here for the last few years are doing 12 hours free lessons for the rigid and artic + 2 x 2 hour classroom lessons and 1 attempt at the test for free. Gota pay €144 to do the theory test and cpc. Waiting to start my lessons
Should've bought a fridge you can do ambient or chilled/frozen in a reefer and the rates are better but you need to watch your weight with a reefer , like those onions you loaded. Loaded chilled lambs for Rungis and German Grosmkts....Same as Ray White ...They ran super kit but then decided to drastically downsize and specialise on a smaller scale...Their Kit was excellent...As you say European work is difficult....Customs....Delays....Price of Diesel...Scabby rates..Also I seem to sense Anti British attitudes. from The Authorities since Brexit.....I do miss my Whizz Through CMRs.........
Hi Again.being an 80 year old lorry driver still doing UK ...Europe and beyond I recall 2/3 days at old La Junquera...or Irun/Hendaye.....Aachen ages and ages...After we became EU.....wow ....No customs delays .No stopping until Turkey....Whizz Whizz......My little typewriter wrote the CMRs neat and tidy....Wonderful....True to say ..Lorry Drivers have changed . ..Notta Lotta Caaraderie.....Keep on Trucking along The Highway of Life........ ..
Oh, and the ZF manual pissed all over this automated shit! DAF has now got their gearbox together but you'd want a post 2019 box or is gonna be as shit as the Merc🤣

driving hours should be 3x 11 hours and 2x 12 hours if needed , 9 hours is crap. most drivers are quit happy doing 12 in a day but not allowed .
