- Messiah (HWV 56) is an English-language oratorio composed in 1741 by George Frideric Handel. The text was compiled from the King James Bible and the Coverdale Psalter by Charles Jennens. It was first performed in Dublin on 13 April 1742 and received its London premiere nearly a year later. After an initially modest public reception, the oratorio gained in popularity, eventually becoming one of the best-known and most frequently performed choral works in Western music.
Megaron Choir is in my humble opinion one of the best European youth choirs. Their energy, virtuosity, and competence are beyond rational understanding.
Megaron Chamber Choir was founded in October 2003 on the initiative of Damijan Močnik, composer and conductor, and united former students of the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium at St. Stanislav’s Institution in Ljubljana, who had before been active in various choral ensembles and received music education in one or more of the five choirs at the Diocesan Classical Gymnasium. As such, Megaron Chamber Choir represents the peak of the choir pyramid of St. Stanislav’s Institution. In the sixteen years since its founding, Megaron Chamber Choir has evolved into a high-quality choir performing regularly in Slovenia as well as in Austria, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, USA, and Canada, and thus earning a reputation at home as well as abroad.

The first piece of Messiah that I remember listening to as a child, and recognizing and falling in love with. Well done everyone!
One of the greatest passages from Handles Messiah and the TRUE meaning of Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS !! Good to see beautiful young faces and hear young people sing Classical music .God bless everyone.
Wonderful performance, they are a credit to their nation. A perfect group of young people.
What a wonderful performance by these beautiful young people. The Spirit of God was definitely with them.
The performances of this young enthusiastic choir are excellence itself. Musical training instils in them, not only an appreciation for fine music, but also the kind of discipline that will stay with them throughout their lives.
A superb interpretation!! I am always fascinated by the haendelian genius.Blessings to everyone

Wonderful! Christ is LORD, our Messiah and REDEEMER!
Megaron - zbor moje mladosti... 10 stopenj višje kot pred 25 leti. Hvala. Poklon.
This wonderful music has blessed thousands over the years, it unites inspired music with inspired scripture to bring to mind and all our senses the blessings of the Divine.
One of my favourite pieces of music because it speaks of God's promise fulfilled in the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ who came to seek & save the lost. The assurance of those who put their faith in him will be saved & when he comes again we will be with him & he with us. That's why Handel's Messiah is so moving & to see all those young people singing it. Well done..
Amen !
Auditory and stage-technical at the top. Committed and lively conductor who positively influences choirs and musicians. 👏
Splendid sound, perfect singing and playing. Enjoyable in every way. It is always great honor to be with this kind of productions and this certainly is top moments to everyone!

This Choir makes me very Happy.
It reminds me of my High School days and our music teacher and conductor, Fr. O'Donnell. He was as enthusiastic as the conductor here.
We used to sing Handel's Messiah.
God bless these wonderful youths. 🙏
Bravo, odlična, sveža, mladostno oblikovana in fantastično prožna izvedba :)

Jerry, how are you. I miss your beautiful comments in my channel. Take care.
Thank you. I'm blessed and doing well. I've just been so busy of late I've not had time to listen on UA-cam, so I've had little opportunity to comment.
I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas. Thank you so much for bringing us such quality, beauty, and joy on your channel.
These guys absolutely nailed it.
I sent this link as part of a Christmas greeting to my friends. More power, beauty, and joy than has ever been compressed into four minutes.
They are wonderful!
This has been my house Anthem this Christmas.
Their virtuosity and angelic voices make them the most amazing Youth Orchestra on Planet Earth.
C’est tout GF Haendel ! Merveilleux !!
Outstanding. World class.
Maravilhoso
Mille bravos vraiment superbe!
Fantastic! I was lucky enough to study choral music under H Watkins Shaw, (whose edition of Messsiah I believe you sang from) between 1966 and 1968. I sang Messiah under his baton at Worcester Cathedral, England, to celebrate his Doctorate. I think that, were he still alive, he would have really appreciated the exciting way in which you performed this joyful Chorus. Congratulations to you all 🙂
I'm sure this Christmas the Megaron Baroque Orchestra & Choir has dazzled Music enthusiasts world over with their brilliant performance of the Baroque era oratorio. Their virtuosity & angelic voices makes them the most amazing Youth Orchestra on Planet Earth. They are indeed Fantastic!
@@albertobuya9731 Yes,
I've never seen such a concentration of beautiful female faces as in this choir. What do they have in the water over there in Slovenia? Snd the humility of the conductor being content with a 2B pencil as a baton. Marvellous.

Magnificent. From Canada.
For unto us a child is born,
Unto us a son is given;
And the government shall be upon
His shoulder;
And His name shall be called Wonderful,
Counselor, the mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
And the Prince of Peace is He.
Just eight simple lines. Georgi didn't waste much time on the words but wove the lines into each other to give us this beautiful piece. He played games with shortened words, hence, we hear "should" instead of "shoulder". This is confusing for those coming to much of Georgi's work and may lead the unfamiliar ear to believe that the choir is fluffing the lines. I can assure any who may be in doubt that this is a brilliant rendition. Acoustics, of course play a part, and they are very good here, but this choir has produced clear and crisp pronunciation which is better than you will hear from many choirs whose native language is English. A joy to hear.
Here is another of Georgi's piece's, this one performed for the occasion of Queen Anne's 48th birthday. Anne hadn't any interest is such things and although she gave Georgi a pension to help with his living expenses, having a Court Composer was more "keeping up appearances" than anything. It is believed that she never heard the piece. By this time, having been pregnant 17 times, 12 of them ending in miscarriage or stillbirth, 4 of those who lived died before the age of 2 years, the oldest dying aged 11 in 1700 and the death of her beloved husband in 1708 left Anne in almost perpetual depression. She ate and ate and drank and drank and got fatter and fatter, was crippled with gout being carried around by courtiers or using a wheelchair, she hadn't got any interest in Georgi's attempts to please her. Anne died less than 17 months later aged 49; nonetheless, it is one of Georgi's most popular short pieces. Here is Kathleen Battle and Winton Marsalis with something very special. You will hear however that Kathleen's voice takes precedence over perfect diction. There are 7 verses but Kathleen sings only one and takes the best part of 3 minutes to sing those 4 lines. Again Georgi made the best of them with repeats and part lines. Here to help are the words of that one verse
Eternal source of light divine
With double warmth thy beams display
And with distinguish'd glory shine
To add a lustre to this day.

AND here it is at Harry's and Meghan's wedding in St. George's Chapel, Windsor sung by Elin Manahan. Regardless of your view of Harry and Meghan, this video is worth seeing to appreciate the sunlight piercing the windows of this beauty chapel. You will see that in the title of this video, Georgi's name is shewn as G.F.Händel. This video is taken from ZDFs transmission of the wedding. Once established in Britain Georgi dropped the umlaut, Händel in German having almost exactly the same pronunciation as Handel in English.

Dear Tog. Should we put subtitles on? But I am scared of google translation into other languages. Perhaps you have some biblical sources. Your wish is my command.
@@zevnikov Primož, dragi prijatelj, I am ALWAYS scared of the Gobbledygook-Gibberish-Google translator, but, in this case, as long as you keep the punctuation in place, I do not think that even Google could do too much damage to international relations. Hello Wonderful Megaron Baroque Orchestra & Choir,
I hope you are going to dazzle us again this Easter with your angelic voices with, "Halleluia Chorus".
Soon, dear friend.
Pretty good.
This is an impressive performance.
Lovely..!!
The English pronunciation is excellent
It is a fantastic version from a Handel's masterpiece. It looks like they're from the Slovenia, is that rigth ? Thanks from Brazil.
¡Excelente! Gracias.
Super.hvala
George Frideric Handel wrote his beloved oratorio Messiah in a three-week burst of intense activity during the fall of 1741. While legend declares that this accelerated fervor resulted from divine inspiration, it was certainly helped by the fact that in some parts of Messiah, Handel recycled his own music. The well-known chorus « For unto Us a Child Is Born » for example, is a reworking of an Italian duet « Nò, di voi non vo’ fidarmi » that Handel had adapted just a few months earlier. But while the duet remains relatively unknown, its choral cousin is now regarded as one of the most glorious expressions of joy in the Christmas repertory, and an enduring Christmas tradition. I am an eternal lover of this chant because its composition is in a tonality which delights me. *Lucien*
"No, di voi non vo' fidarmi" HWV 189 (George Frideric Handel)
Uplifting interpretations indeed, sharp and well supported by the orchestra. I would also recommend Messaiah by Gramophone Ghana, equally uplifting. What joy
❤️💕💕
Good sing
2:52 a parte mais linda da música
This fun to sing.
A truly splendid rendition of Handel's glorious statement of the birth of Jesus Christ,Saviour of the world
