- Hey guys, in this video I set up and tack in the bump stops and limiting straps.
And if you're curious here is my shared folder. Lots of good Baja stuff in there.

I love what you ended up doing with the bump stops and how you modified the upper arm. Looks super clean and 'technical' at the same time.
Looking forward to some content, during this quarantine!
Thanks, surprising how some small changes suddenly makes the upper control arm look like it belongs now. Man it bugged me how it looked before. lol
Thanks for the comment.
@@DougBugBuilder I agree, it was too BIG ! Lol.
Keep up the good work!
Heck yeah buddy! Keep things rolling no matter what! We need to get together this week!
Nothing can stop me from fabricating. 😁
We should actually meet up in person so I can see if you're a serial killer. Shouldn't be to long before I can get the Bug out.
@@DougBugBuilder hahah lol I make no promises. Same here with work, ain't nothing gonna keep us from doing what we do
Just found your channel and binged all 7 episodes. Awesome channel and will be watching this all come together.
Welcome aboard!
Great Update, I like the way it looks too. When you get done this will be an awesome off road vehicle. So much engineering in this project. Thanks for sharing and taking us along. Have a great week and keep safe. BigW:-)
Big W, thanks for the comment. You and your family stay safe as well.
Great work! I been following the build since I ran into your channel looking for ideas for my buggy! More content and details than I expected to find, thank you for taking the time to elaborate on all the small details that can make a big difference in functionality!!!
Thanks buddy!
Glad it's helping you with some ideas. Good luck with your buggy.
Hey man Kevin here from Australia.
Thankyou once again for sharing man it's always good when one of your videos pops up.
It is really inspiring the level of detail your achieving .
Keep safe and stay well.
✌ Peace
Kevin from down under, I love knowing someone is watching from the other side. ;-)
Thanks for the comment and stay safe!
Good stuff.
And your hope is working, been scratching the fabrication itch. Mounting my Pro tools tubing bender on my fab table for a long over due frame project.
Keep the videos coming.
Haha, watch enough of these videos and the itch will get ya. ;-)
Doug you really inspire me a lot here
That's great! I love it when these videos help people along. Thanks for letting me know.
Man, you are a specialist, i like it very much
I like what you did with the upper control arm it looks so much better. Especially considering that the upper control arm will see significantly less loading compared to the lower.
Thanks bud, appreciate the feedback. It is amazing how those small changes made it look so much better.
You can run the limit strap from bolt to bolt on the shock you just need a longer bolt and spacers to set it out past the spring
I was afraid doing it that way the strap would tangle with the spring at compression, maybe?
looking Great A+
Thanks buddy!
No comments ! Great job 👍
Thank you very much!
For Mig Tack crank the heat higher and make the gap bigger for it to flow into. Tig fitment and mig fitment are way different. For mig we bevel back almost 1/4 to create a big valley to flow into. Tig as you know you want flush mount no valley.
Man those are some good tips! Thanks.
The change looks good
Looks sooo much better. It was really bugging me how it looked before.
Awesome viddy! Bumps are hard to get 90 perfect on A-Arms. I set mine up like yours on my Tacoma.
Yeah they can be tricky and overlooked. Nice work on yours, I'm sure it's a good setup.
Good video
Thanks!
Awesome, loving the build. What's the power plant gonna be?
Most likely another Ecotec for now. Unless I stumble into an LS at the junkyard.
Hey Doug, curious what motors do you run in the bugs?
The first one has an Ecotec in it. I think this one will start with an Ecotec as well.
Ecotec feels like a 2 stroke. Same exact ground clearance as vw. Subaru hangs down alot lower
Where did you get your clevis?

@@DougBugBuilder thank you Mr. Doug
