Just started doing this to my 67 last week. Been researching and watching various videos etc. Yours is one of the best I've seen, really helpful and has answered all of the questions I had. Thank you ever so much for taking the time to produce and post this excellent video. 👍🇬🇧
Informative content on a somewhat bare frame is excellent. The backbone of most projects. Thank you sir, just the 30 minutes refreshes knowledgable builders and your crafty homebrew guy like me.
Really slick installation. Never ever knew such an install existed. Great use of Ford's already excellent engineering. We have Crown Vics, in our city fleet, that have taken a beating as cop cars and all our brick roads. Amazing how well they still ride.
I wish I had seen this video before I started my switch on the Crown Vic excellent job please save me a lot of time and scratching my head that's exactly how you do it
Is there any reason why measurements were not made diagonally front to rear to confirm the front end is square and parallel to the rear end to be able to have a final 4 point alignment done when chassis is finished? I have watched several different project videos that there were tracking alignment issues front to rear.
Excellent video on the installation and why you did what you did to complete the installation. I'm looking at doing the conversion on my 54 F100 and this is what I was looking for. Saw this earlier and lost the video and it's taken 2 hrs. To remind this awesome video! Thank you immensely 😊
What’s up with that round body falcon? A few years ago I saw you guys had one built and made a billet fuel filler for the tail light opening. Do you sell that or is that a one and done? I have a 62 falcon that id like to make open and hide the fuel fill neck. Thanks
Here's my question. I have a 1959 ford f100. After watching several videos I noticed that my set up (cross member) isn't the same as in all the videos. I think my radiator uses the same cross member . I don't want to cut mine off and mess it up. Can you please clarify for me
I'd like to the swap on my 94F150 flareside! God a wire welder an over 30 years of experience! But it would be nice to not have to work it out myself! It was given to me by my father prior to his passing!
Great video...thanks for taking the time to make such a informative video, I have a question is it possible to put a Crown Vic front into a 1974 f-350 frame ?
As a veteran mechanic I can’t fathom doing framework and not just sandblasting the entire chassis and have a clean slate to work with as inexpensive it is. Makes no sense just makes more professional job and clean to do accurate fabrication.
We don't currently manufacture a kit for that year of F150 but you can use 2003-2011 Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car front suspension to complete the swap.
Having a P-71in the past I like this swap but not sure about ride height. Not a Fan of overlowered trucks. Can it be used with a ride height of only 2” under stock ??
i've watched this video a number of times. you guys have a great product.i am gonna get the install kit that you sell. it seems to be of really high quality. but, i have one question. what tells you for sure that the center of the shock tower holes is the actual center line of the front wheel? part of the reason i ask is that the center of the shock mount on the CV front end doesn't seem to be the wheel center line.
Awesome video. Ive got two trucks i want to do this on. One with a Coyote swap as well ('74 F-100). The other is a '94 F-150, local built in Norfolk, VA (i live in Virginia Beach, VA) and all original. Can't wait to get this done. Did i hear y'all were doing a kit for this? That would be outstanding. When would that be available? Y'all tale care.
Hey Chris, I'm sure the frame on your truck is very similar to the 65-79 F100 but we do not currently manufacture a kit that will be a direct fit for your chassis.
Do you know if this chassis the same for a 69 econoline ? I have one and I'll like to do the same because the steering is so hard with 265 tires and there's no much room for a steering mods. I have the chance to put oem power steering but will be better to have nice steering + nice driving + better breaking . Hopefully someone here can tell me
The cost of this installation really depends on how much you pay for the front suspension from the Crown Vic. Our kit retails at $499.00 for 65-79 F100 and $569.00 for the 57-64 F100
This is probably a dumb question, but, I have a spare vic for parts for my p71. As I am not a welder, (but hope to learn someday), could I use my vic frame to mount a 59 f100 cab and body?
Have you seen @HotRodGarage Crown Hick? They did what you are suggesting but I can't remember what year pickup they used. They found it to be a very drivable package
Chuck this is possible, and has been done numerous times, but there are many downsides to doing that as opposed to using a front end setup like this. The amount of time and labor increases exponentially and you have to lose a good portion of your bed due to the interference with the Crown Vic frame.

@@RalphSampson... 2003-2006 is aluminum. 2007-2011 is steel. 03 and 04 are easiest to remove, 05 and 06 use more torque on the bolts. Steel control arms are just hardest to remove for some reason but all CV clips come out with relative ease
We have not installed our kits onto a 250 yet, if you sent us some measurements of your frame we could tell you if it would be compatible though! If you get some measurements send them over to ethan@gatewayperformancesuspension.com
That was very in depth explanation on the install , Now , what you gonna do on the rear suspension? Also have you done one like this on a 83 F100? Or have a kit for it? I have an 83 f100 and this is very nice swap for better ride comfort as my truck rides like dump truck .
If they don't have a kit it's really easy to source the tubes that go through the top of the frame from the donor car they are basically tack welded on the top only then just get your centerline mark everything and you can use a step bit to drill the top holes slide the tubes through the frame and weld them use some flat plate to box the frame and then figure the rear trailing arm mounts out and you never made a big cut in the main frame rails
Looking to restore a 56 f100 but I dont want the drops most guys are looking for i want more of drop where top of tire lines up with the fender well. So CV front end I read drops frame by say 4 inches. Is there a way to install where you dont get that big of a drop, Thanks for your response

What is wrong with the stock front suspension? The twin I Beam is about the best riding suspension there is for a truck, tough as nails but smooth. Particularly good with the longer I beams on the early trucks. You could completely rebuild the entire front end for under $150. 4 bushings and a couple of shocks is all it requires. 🤷♂️😉
