Best advice ever. I’ve ran into this problem countless times and it’s so frustrating. I’ve ended up even hand pulling it out of desperation.

i'm hoping you didn't install those crosses from the bottom up...also, i purposefully do this to save 2 to 4 feet of string when cutting the string from a reel. some of these multis are $.40/foot !

should pull an extra 5 pounds to compensate for the loss?

The prestretch function on the stringer should be good enough, but if you don’t have the function on your stringer adding 5lbs or so should do the trick

Some stringers do this on purpose to save string. The tension is accurate, physics demands it. Reducing waste is always good.

I have a question about your tensioner. I also have a Prince Neos and that Weiss tensioner. When I bought a Babolat 5 Star electric I put the tensioner in a case and stopped using it. I was thinking about selling it and when I turned it on after several years of it sitting in the case it would not work. I kept getting an error code. I looked online and tried turning on and off several times and it did work once and then back to the error code. My point is I tried to contact the guy and he does not reply. I do not really need it but I do not want to discard a 500 dollar piece of equipment. Have you ever had an issue with the tensioner?

Hey! No I haven’t had that specific issue. But I haven’t let it sit without use for that long. Did you contact the guy at Wise and see if you could send it in for repairs? If that doesn’t work, you could try a site called tennismachines, I haven’t personally used them, but I’ve heard good things, I’ll link the site.

@@hotshottennis4502 Yes I used tennis machines after Prince went into bankruptcy. I needed a new spring and some other stuff. I sent Wise an email and there was no response. I use the Neos when I travel and just use the crank. For serious jobs I use my Babolat electric which I keep at home so I do not want to spend money on the Wise. I was actually going to give it to one of my students. I keep getting error code 3. I just mounted it now to try again.

I see, well I can try and figure out a fix. I’ll keep you posted!

@@hotshottennis4502 I just saw on a archive that error code 3 means the test was not completed in time. The user claimed he took it apart and cleaned it. I just mounted it and got the 3 but played around with turning it on and off and off in the middle of the test. Now it appears to be working fine. Probably will get the error code 3 next time I turn it on and off. I noticed a lot of users had the same problem with not getting a response from Wise. I hope you have luck with yours. Since mine has not run in years (7) I will do a whole bunch of pulls. Maybe it had to warm up. But in the house I always used the Babolat.

@@hotshottennis4502 Just did an aeropro drive with luxilon and a soft string and it actually worked fine. I turned it off when done and then back on and it ran through the test fine. Not sure what was happening but I put it back in the case. I am much faster with the crank and the Babolat 5 star. Thanks for your response and good luck!

We're sweating it out, while you're telling us where you got the spare piece of string from.

Personally I would up the tension for tying a knot. Then I would pull the last string.

I usually do, but I can’t remember if I mentioned in this video or not (it’s been a minute lol). But the prestretch function should suffice, but I was mentioning how to save the string job vs other tips!
