Great teaching - I love the technique -I wish you could play an example of all three variations so I can understand how they all three fit together over a few bars
It's challenging trying to fit a lot of content in a 1 video. I try to keep my videos under 10 min. Give the basic idea of the content delivered. But i appreciate your desire for more examples, I really do! Thank You!
You have no idea how many ways to practise this book. It's insane! I love it. Btw, I will be putting out a series of Syncopation videos in early 2024. Stay tuned!
Sorry for the late reply. Been slowly transitioning into a new UA-cam recording studio. More videos coming soon so please stay tuned! In regards to your comment, thank you so much for the comment. i am glad the video was helpful. Cheers!
Hi Christian. Thanks for chiming in. I am so glad you are enjoying the videos. I am planning on recording a bunch of videos this weekend to be released in Dec & Jan. Stay tuned!
Non that I know. Funny you mention that? It's something I have been wanting to do for a long time. I have always been a believer of music literacy, especially rhythm vocabulary for drums. It's the foundation of how I teach private lessons. First we learn rhythm reading and from that we build drumbeat and drum-fill vocabulary which in-turn will help develop band skills. Just gotta figure out how to deliver this material in video format. Stay tuned!
¡MAESTRO!🙏. Saludos desde Chile🇨🇱.
Great teacher, great player and a great lesson But sorry, this book is so passe. Why not get a book that actually contains these rhythms? It would be like reading a novel and writing your own chapter. Makes no sense to me. Ted Reed has got way to much credit over the years for a just ok drum book. He never intended all of these creative uses for his book.
Thank you for the compliment! I really appreciate it! I agree, the book itself is not bad. But it seems that it was the go to book for drummers to create all sorts of applications. I was introduced to 40 ways to play this book in my college Jazz music program. And a lot of other jazz music programs from College & universities all around the globe were using this book as well. A whole generation of drummers were influenced by this book. It's picked up it's own momentum. You are right, there are other books that will achieve similar results but this was the first of it's kind and has had a huge head start.
