- From iOS 12.4 and above, Apple introduced new ways of transferring data between iPhones. Be sure both iPhones are running iOS 12.4 and above. Wireless transfer and wired transfer. In this video, I will share step by step guide with you guys. Hopefully, this will help those who needed.

Thank you for the vid, good work! If anybody is curious about how long this takes (like I was), it took approx 50 mins to move 90gb of music, photos etc from a 6s to a 12 mini.

Maybe it’ll make a significant difference when iPhone switches to USB-C, but for now it’s way better wirelessly considering it takes basically the same time

Very interesting even though it wasn't the information I was actually after. Was looking to transfer just *some* of the data (music) from my old iPhone 6 to a newer iPhone 8. Already have lots of new stuff on my i8 so have no wish to wipe completely. Thumbs up anyway.

Awesome thanks! Just lost my wifi on the 8 plus. Cannot turn it on or off even when I have it. The “grayed out” bug. I use iCloud as well but that’s no use with this issue. Bought the adaptor like you said so hopefully I can get everything transferred.
How much faster is the wireless transfer method versus the wired one, or vice versa ?
For me it said over the air 10-15 minutes and with cable 5-10 minutes. So I guess 1/3rd faster. Its not much but it is something.

I can’t believe it’s October 25, 2020 and I barely found out you can do wired transfer on iPhone. Wow. I always praised Samsung for having this option via smart switch app.

If I wanted to have a complete mirror image backup of my iphone, can I transfer the data from one iphone to the other and be able to have a backup of my iphone even though I will only have the one Sim card? I won't be able to get an internet connection on both at the same time, so i will have to use the cable to cable connection. Would this work and if I decided to use the new iphone, could I just take out the Sim card and put it in the new iphone?
Is it possible to get an extra Sim card and use it for both iphones? The Sim card would have the same phone number as the old one, and if I ever lost the new one, I would have a complete backup of all my data with same phone number. Is this a bad idea to do? I am concerned about losing my iphone and not having all my data backed up and verified to work. This will allow me to see if all works properly or not. Thanks if you can.

Can't see why not. But, some apps may not be working though.
@@TaoMStudio thats my friend said, it is possible but no guarantee that some apps might not work. so what i did i just updated my new iphone into ios 13.3 too and transferring of data is perfectly match

Thank you for the video of both methods. I need to do a transfer from a broken screen iphone x to a new iphone x. The screen damage has taken out the forward facing camers, all alse is working including the selfie camera. When it gets to the scanning of the QR animation, do you know if the selfie camera can be used? If not, is there a way of entering the required information in order to proceed, manually?
@Bert Pollheimer Not as far as I know of. But you can always try to back up via iTunes.

Ether adapter didn’t work for me. I can’t even get the option to come up. It keeps wanting WiFi connection and only the new phone can connect. Old is grayed out. It sure was a great way for me to waste a bunch of time and a little money.

Hello, I am not getting the option "Set up New iPhone" in my old iphone. I have ios version 12.4.6, blue tooth is turned on, both phones fully charged and connected to power and placed next to each other. Tried restarting both the phone. Still the option / pop up for "Set up New iphone" is not appearing on the old phone, while the new phone gets the "Quick Start" screen. Can anyone advise what needs to be done to get the "Set up New iphone" pop-up on the old phone. Many thanks in advance.

You will need iOS 12.4 or newer to do Bluetooth or WiFi to restore remotely!

Hi Tao. Nice video. I am trying to do that same as you did in the video that it trying to transfer data from an IPhone XR to IPhone 7. When I follow the process it does not give me the quick transfer option at all . Instead it goes to a page that ask me to move data via icloud iTunes or from an Android device. How can this be fixed? I tried multiple times. Restarted both the phones as well. The quick transfer option does not appear still. Please help.

Imagine if apple had just done the right thing by making things easy with direct wifi transfer between devices a thing rather than having to go through (and most likely pay for if you have any amount of data) icloud.

as long as newer than ios12.4 on both devices, then you will be fine.
Both of my devices are in 12.4.5 and 12.4.1 but the choice on the screen like in 2:12 didn't show up. So I couldn't transfer all of the files unless I saved it in iCloud. Does the sim card hv to be on the new phone?

Hi, I remember putting the passwords in after. If you don’t remember password, try go to Settings > Passwords&Accounts on your old phone. You might be able to find it there. Then do the transfer

Hmm 🤔, interesting. Not sure what happened there. It can take a long time to download all the apps from App Store. If you have lots apps and photos on 6, it may take even longer. What is the longest time have you waited?

Will this work with an audio cable. I have the adapter for the iphone 7/8. Where u have no headphone jack. With this do the same thing ?!? I have a charging jack and headphone jack. you don't need any adapter to transfer data, you can also use wifi tranfers. That adapter is another way to transfer.

Hi, my whatsapp data was transferred, however, make sure transfer sim card over to the new phone. Make sure to Backup your WhatsApp data, just in case.

Whatsapp is backed up on iCloud, so make sure you backup on the old phone. When you put SIM card in the new phone, it will pull backup from your icloud.

Hi Tao, I've got a new iPhone 11 Pro. I am trying to backup my data from old phone (iPhone 7) to iCloud first before the wireless transfer. Is it normal to have estimated 4 days to backup everything? I have approx 35GB of Photos. Both phones have the same version of ios. I looked everywhere people said it will only "take awhile" or "20 mins", is it becoz they always backup the data to icloud so it doen't take that long for them? (first time backing up to iCloud for me) Is there a way to speed up the process? ...as I have a flight to catch in 2 days......thanks so much!!
Hi, take 4days to backup to icloud or transfer to the new phone?
Try backup onto computer then restore back to the new phone. Or do the wireless transfer overnight, make sure both phones are connected to power. I suspect there are lot more data to transfer due to compression on the old phone.
@@TaoMStudio i just tried again the data has transferred to new phone yay! (it took approx an hour) however the backup process to icloud still not done. it was estimated 4 days..now increased to 5 days. I wonder if there's a quicker way to backup my data (to iCloud)?
@CK Good to hear that wireless transfer worked. Backup to iCloud will always take much longer due to large amount of data need to uploaded. (upload speed is very slow in most cases)
