Langdon Tactical is known for their work on the Beretta 92 platform. They managed to take an old school gun and bring into the modern era. The H&K P30 has been an awesome but always needed that little bit of extra work to bring it up to speed. When we heard Langdon was announcing their work on the P30 and P2000's.......this was good news.

Just waiting for a P30L from them to come back in stock in LEM. I love my P30sk LEM, trigger IMO is much better than the DA/SA variant. Same weight break, but just feels cleaner/crisper right out of the box, makes a good aiwb gun. LT does some awesome work from what I've seen. Would be cool to have a full size version of my carry gun with a RDO on top.
BTW at 33:30 there's a super easy fix for the last round not locking back, I have the exact same issue. Ordered a shortened takedown/slide stop lever from HK Parts, popped the shortened lever in the gun in less than 15 seconds, problem solved. The right side slide stop lever can simply be removed. No need to cut it off!

As someone who has been carrying V3 (DA/SA) P30 and P30L as EDC since 2015...I too was plagued by the slide lever...the secret is buying the P30S shorter slide lever and installing on the V3 and V1 (LEM)...small change, but more room and the way it should be from factory (5 seconds once the slide is off). Just note even the short lever ridges are prominent and can with repeated draws the support thumb palm swell can get raw if a righty...the next step is to cut or chamfer the edge radius and radius which I haven't done. Really happy to see the P30 get the love and attention it deserves and I will upgrade my units.

I have the P30SK in DA/SA from LTT, lightest hammer spring they offer and the Grey Guns trigger. I have to say I am mixed on it. I love flat triggers on my strikers, but the long (and it is still not what I would call “light”) DA first pull with the gray guns trigger is really tough for me. And I say that as someone who has a 92 from LTT and a p229 Legion from Sig. I do so much better in DA with those pistols. Don’t know if it’s the flat trigger or what, but I almost wish I had them leave the H&K trigger on it.

The moment I find a LTT P30 with a RMR cut it will becoming home with me. I rarely felt as perfect a grip interface as the P30 vs any of my other pistols. Alas, because the DA trigger pull and the subsequent trigger reset was really subpar (i.e. horrible) for my needs, I had to reluctantly let it go. Also at the time, Red Dot optic cut options were null/few and far between. I replaced the P30 with other Polymer frame DA/SA "compacts": CGW CZ P07's and LTT Beretta PX4's.

A Langdon Beretta PX4 trigger is miles ahead of any factory HK trigger. It would be interesting to see how much the HK could be improved.
I was looking for a polymer DA/SA this spring and picked the PX4CC over the P30 over the superior trigger and half as expensive mags. I'd been carrying a 92 or Glock for the last 3 years, and love LTT/Beretta, but have always had a soft spot for HKs so it was a hard choice.

Speaking on holsters I kinda screwed up with my APX A1 because i didn't find a compatible holster before I bought the gun, and come to find out pretty much no one makes a light bearing holster, or even a regular holster, for the A1. I did, however, buy an A0 (Beretta retroactively refers to the APX as the A0 to differentiate it from the A1) grip and swap it out (good news is I wanted an OD grip anyways) and now I have an A0 compatible holster coming for my Italian mutt.

Amazing that DA/SA has to be explained. The Walther P99 AS is the striker fired version of HK’s LEM; load the gun and the trigger pull is super light SA, but press the decocker, and it’s DA heavy for “safe” carry. Many just can’t get either the Walther or HK LEM concept.

Add the shorter SK slide release levers. They are lower profile and less long. Having said that.
The P30 series is only lacking a red dot, full height grip texture and better placed slide release levers. This is where the Walther PDP/PPQ series outshines the P30 series. Having shot over 3,000 rounds through my P30L LEM, the OG Wick Stick. The only real complaint is the half grip height texture.
While the PDP/PPQ is quite snappy for 9mm, it is very light weight and returns to zero like a race gun. Jedenfalls sind Deutsche Waffen am besten.

This is one of your most intriguing videos yet. Great job!
Langdon is the best. The Langdon PX4 is AMAZING. I am sure he worked his magic on these HKs too. But the price? A grand with no options. Not even an optic cut.
The UMP was never as good as its peers in its price class (Super annoying recoil impulse, sights were OK, trigger just OK too.)
A lot was fixed with the P30. But still not up to it's peers. The fact that it is hammer fired gives it such advantages though. A hammer fired system means the hammer is part of the locking mechanism. The trigger also just has to be tripped in a hammer system, not drag the striker through its final stages.
The LEM system is also intriguing.
I would never buy any of the base HK pistols. Sig, Walther, S&W, Even the Bersa TPR give equal performance. But that Langdon P30 all decked out should be able to run with any carry pistol.
Wow, makes me think. Is it a better premium carry pistol than the Staccato?

Hoping to bank some overtime to afford one of these, my hk45 is my favorite non 1911 45, the p30 kind of tickles my pickle.

Now I do not feel bad as I am not the only one who can never keep the slide to lock back on empty mag with my p30. I love this gun but my grip in relation to the slide release is on this weapon does not allow this to happen, ever. I cannot undo the same grip I have had for decades to accommodate the p30, I wish I could but after more than a thousand rounds, it just frustrates me that I can never keep the slide to stay locked back after my last round.

Also you need the thin slide releases, (this takes away the slide lock issue. I had the same issue before switching these out), hk 45 mag release is another must for the p2k. i-dot milling job from wright armory with holosun 508t on top. 10 lb hammer spring. its a tack driver, reduced LEM pre travel with the 4.1, 1/3 shorter reset with theGG srt kit. 3.5 lb ish consistent pull. 17 rd p30 mag with x grip spacer. love it.

Jake you are thinking of the German GSG 9 which are not really homeland they fall under a counter terrorism unit which is on par with the KSK and majority of them are ex-KSK.

@@1911syndicate the history of the GSG 9 is pretty interesting, all started during the German Olympics held in Germany duh in the 90s. It’s kinda interesting how the GIGN, GSG 9, and Spetsnaz are all considered to be anti terrorism not homeland security. We do in fact have an anti terrorism unit but it falls in DOHS more so with FBI, CIA, secret service, US marshals, and coast guard those are CAT, HRT, SRS, SOG, and MSRT.
CAT- counter assault team (secret service)
SOG- special operations group (us marshals)
      HRT- hostage rescue team (FBI)
      SAC- special activities center (CIA)
MSRT- Maritime security response team (coast guard falls under DOHS) MSST is the military tier 1 unit of the coast guard
SAC is a paramilitary unit of the CIA that compose of mostly ex- special forces/SOF, they play a lot of roles with HRT.
HRT is the top second of the chain for counter terrorism (majority of them are ex-special forces/SOF they have been to Afghanistan as well with delta force.
CAT is the cream of the crop when it comes to counter terrorism these are the guys that are the first to react if it occurs.
SOG is by far the only counter terrorism that consist of mostly SWAT units and some ex-special forces/SOF and it’s the only one that doesn’t require special operations or special forces experience, it requires at least 5 years of SWAT and 3 years of US marshals. If you are thinking that the test is a cake walk think again, their accuracy test is no joke and your groups has to be tight like at least a 1 1/2 in group at 25 yards. Yeah SOG is no joke at all.
Sorry about this long information but it’s a rabbit hole and it’s interesting

The USP series has a harsh environment coating on the slide, barrel and internals. Some kind of coating that penetrated the metal to make everything very corrosion resistant Does the P30s have this as well or no? No one ever talks about this. Also the USP barrels are like Ordnance/Cannon grade, is that the same in the p30s?
