I have same bike, spin the bobbins on front discs to clean. Not always a warped disc. These are a very underate motorcycle.

The big issue with Triumph is the sparse dealer network. I’m in southeast NC and the closest dealer is two hours away.

Those 'Big Ole Gals' kind of grow on ya after a while. When I first rode my Eluder it felt massive. But luckily it's well balanced and all the weight is down low. I flick it around now like my old, lighter V-Star. That was a gorgeous sunset. Bed time for me now. See y'all in the morning (I hope). Peace and love.

Looks like it’s missing the side cases kind of strange as they don’t work on anything else. I was hoping you’d be wondering why they moved around, they do that by design. My Trophy SE is all black she’s a heavy girl for sure. Loaded up with 2 weeks of luggage and the wifey on the back it’s a lot of weight (could be the wife 🤫🤫) We rode from Alberta to Coos Bay and thru Mount Rainier and back to Alberta in 10 days, it’s made for the long haul for sure.
Not sure where the side bags are..? Hopefully sale put them aside somewhere. It would be odd for the previous owner to keep them...
We ordered rotors and pads for it today.
Do you ever have cam chain tensioner rattle on cold startup? This one seems to bleed pressure, and takes a couple seconds to build pressure on startup. I made notes about it, but sales hasn’t said anything about looking into it any further yet.

@@TheSmoaksVlogs yep I do Shawn I asked about why it sounded that way only when cold, they said it was normal. I started up a 1200 explorer same year and it sounded the same as mine. I find the motor quietens down when it’s warmed up. I haven’t had a major service yet. I was taking it in but then the snow hit so it will have the big 32,000km service done next year, which they said was a full 8 hour job they need it for 2 days and close to $2K almost 10% the price of the bike. It’s strange it’s missing the side cases as the top box is an option it comes standard with the side cases.
Hey man because your opinion is one I trust how do you feel about high octane gasoline? My understanding is that while they may help your engine to run better that the deposit more gunk into the actual engine. I’m pretty sure I have to run high octane gas I have a 128 conversion on my Harley but am I hurting it every time I fill my tank?
Hey man question for you. I have a 2016 Yamaha fjr1300 that has 13 thousand miles on it. I recently had the oem steering head bearings replaced with tapered bearings and the shop that put them in have adjusted the torque settings on the bearings twice now. And the bike still is sensitive to steering input especially at speeds above 55 mph. Do tapered bearings have a different feel compared to oem roller bearing?
The Trophy has a great second gear torque. I have one for cool weather riding in spring and fall, it's blocking a lot of air. You get used to the size and weight. Might need to wear ear protection especially in heavy cool air.
At one time I considered trading for the Trophy, but I didn't, obviously. Triumph ended up discontinuing it. I think there were problems with the early ones from what I read online. I wonder how it compares to the R1250RT in terms of performance. It's a ST with the emphasis on T. A RT is that way as opposed to a C14 or FJR or even more so, a VFR.

Triumph Trophy is one big heavy bike. I saw one at a bike show a few years ago and had a hard time even getting it up off the side stand. Too big for me.
We were all talking about the weight picking this bike off it’s stand at the shop... One of the guys said the last time he felt one so heavy was when he forgot to put the side stand down on an old Harley he had..! Lol 🤣

Well Ed I know where you're coming from. I had a 1200 Trophy, I have short legs. Tippy toes were called for when stopped also with a full tank they are very top heavy,,,
But once you're moving,, WOW.
Once you get rolling all that weight dissappears and handles like a dream!

Too right Dale, it was a bugger on unlevel ground and could be awkward BUT once the show is on the road. What a trip!
At 220 klicks it was more stable than say "A Vulcan" at a 100 klicks.
But I have say tyre pressures are critical, the front has to have 42 pound or the the front end will wallow around and yep its a big heavy machine while stationary but it's not built to be in one spot, lol.
Lovely touring bike there Shawn. Since you mentioned the owner taking great care of the motorbike, I’d like to have your opinion on something.
What’s your take on engine oil additives and especially the brand POLYTRON (USA manufactured). I have a KTM single 390 CC Duke and it’s kinda noisy (mechanical engine noise) and a bit harsh below 4000 rpm, even the gear shifts are quite clunky. Would it be okey to add the POLYTRON engine oil additive to my bike which has clicked just 5000 kms? If not POLYTRON, what would you suggest.. Thanks in advance.

Nice bike, but I chose for myself YAMAHA FJR 1300 ES - it is much more powerful and better handling.
I have a 2016 Yamaha fjr1300es myself. What year is your fjr1300?
It’s way smaller for two people though, that’s the reason I never went in that direction. The trophy is way more comfortable
