So far, I have lost a total of 130 lbs. My highest weight was 612, my current weight is 482. My goal is not a number on a scale. My current goals are just to get healthy and WALK again!
At 57 years old, I cannot spare any more time to the SAD diet (love that acronym!). I am dedicated to the ketogenic journey for the rest of my life.
Not sustainable some say? Oh, yes it is! Too restrictive? Hardly! If anything, it's freedom! Freedom from painful joints, freedom from fluid retention, and freedom from diabetes...and that's just the beginning! I am looking forward to the many more benefits to come!
Is the weight falling off like I'd like? No. But, at my age, health condition, and medications I take, I think I'm doing very well. I'll just be glad when I get outta this wheelchair!
    Love y'all! ❤

Great job Lana! 130 lbs is amazing!! I think when people say it’s restrictive, they don’t that I need restrictions, not having restrictions wasn’t working well for me most of my life! -Em

@@ketotwins I understand the restrictions to which you refer, but most people think there's no way they can give up their favorite foods. I focus more on the benefits that I receive more than the restrictions I have on the foods I have given up. But, most of my favs I find alternatives that are keto or ketofied, so there aren't that many that I miss. Also, if I absolutely want something such as fruits which are my favorite foods, I set aside one day a month to eat a small amount, so I don't ever feel deprived.
I think y'all are so beautiful, and I love to watch your channel! ❤

Almost 3 weeks on keto and i've lost 22 pounds! It's hard to get over the fact this is mostly water weight, but after researching so much about keto and just being more mindful about how unhealthy the foods I normally ate before were, I can honestly say I believe i'm sticking to this forever. Will I have holidays where I have a slice of pie? definitely! but keto has really given me a sense of control that i've never had in my life before, so i'm very excited to reach and maintain my goal weight of 140 pounds :)

I started Sept. 8, 2020, so almost 4 months ago. As of today I've lost a total of 34 pounds. This is not my first time starting, BUT, it is my first time coming to terms with it being my lifestyle. It's amazing what a difference coming to terms with that can do for you. It has made it a completely different journey. I don't feel like I'm in a race to get the weight off, and I'm not stressed out about it. My main goal, before weight loss, was to feel better physically, and I have met that goal. The weight I lost along with it was just an added benefit! I have much more I would like to lose, but I have faith in the process, and know that it will happen in time. I just turned 53 yesterday, and I haven't felt this good in years!!! You two are great! Thank you for what you are doing!

We understand this process as we’d tried all sorts of “diets” before and struggled as we always stopped and then reverted back to eating as we had before. Now we’re 110lbs down and have reversed Skatz’ type 2 as well in part to these lovely girls helping us out - good luck with your journey my lovely 💕

I’ve been eating Keto for 3 weeks and I’ve lost 8 lbs so far. I didn’t lose much during the first week and a half, but then started seeing weight loss closer to the end of week 2. Even though it’s water weight, I love how I’m starting to look. My watch no longer leaves red marks on my wrist and I can remove my rings easily. I’ve lost 3 inches in my waist so today I’m wearing a wrap dress I haven’t been able to fit in for a long time. Fatigue has been a struggle for me, but seeing quick results keeps me motivated to keep going. I love your long term perspective on keto as a lifestyle.

I've been eating LCHF for 10 weeks. I've added in some fasting over the last 5 or 6 weeks. I'm currently down 15-18 lbs, depending on the day. My waist is down 4 inches, though, and that is a really great sign that my body is responding well. I'm doing this primarily to treat my high insulin levels and prevent Type 2 diabetes, so this is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix for me. I was diagnosed pre-diabetic 12 years ago. Looking forward to a healthy future, not doomed to all of the meds and further diseases usually inherent in progressive diabetes!

My first time (2004) I was a desperate 434.6#. I followed Atkins and lost 130lbs in 13 months. THEN I gained back 108lbs over the next year. I yoyo'd for years, until 2017, at 48 y/o and over 350lbs, I realized that I needed to get a handle on this. I began a high protien/fat keto and started walking daily. In 2018 I added heavy weight lifting. My weight has gone up 40lbs, however my inches have gone down. My arthritis has diminished and I feel better at 51 and 260 lbs (still losing inches) that I did in my 30's. Patience and consistency are important keys.

Looking forward to your book! :) Great video! If you are able to, I recommend that you get your body fat compositions done. My goal weight used to be 135 at 5' 6". Last year on the day I started back on Keto, I got my body fat comp done (DEXA Scan) and come to find out that if I got down to 135, I would be a literal unhealthy skeleton because my lean body mass is 127.4. Now my goal weight is 155 which for me would be about 21% body fat and considered "fitness" level. Just a suggestion since weight charts aren't specific to ones actual body composition.

I'm so glad I found you guys! Have been losing weight since September 2022, first by simply reducing calories. After plateauing at 30 lbs, I decided to try keto. I lost 50 more lbs. That's when I went on vacation. On my vacation I ate carbs to my hearts content. At first I thought it was relatively benign. Eventually I could see that I was out of control! In 2 weeks I'd gained back 5 lbs! I'm back on track and have lost 3 of those. Mostly I just feel so much more 'in charge' of my eating while on keto. By listening to you two, and seeing your cooking videos, it helps keep me motivated and focused on my goal. I'm still hoping to lose another 10-15 lbs. I'm 5'3", currently 147lbs, and 63 years old.😂

My hubby and I lost 10 lbs in 2 months very slow . But we feel better he could lose maybe 10 more I need about 50 more☹️but it’s ok cravings are gone and I am thankful for that. I’m 63 so I think that might have something to do with it . I stop eating at 3pm most days and eat Maybe 1 and 1/2 meals per day . I haven’t been on many different diets but not this one I think this will really work for me I’m not discouraged but sometimes a little disappointed by how slow the process is we do swim three days a week for an hour so we have some activity ❤️

That golden shot is totally real!! The first time I did keto, I lost 10 pounds in the first week! Then I continued on and lost over 30 pounds in 4 months. All other attempts, I have gotten so frustrated that it's not coming off like it was the first time. This time, I'm really trying to accept that it's not going to happen like that again.

I often get told by relatives and friends (who are supposed to know better because they are healthcare professionals) that although I am losing weight fast, my diet is not sustainable because once I go back to eating "normal," I will gain all that weight back. That makes no sense to me because keto is now my normal, and I see no reason for stopping it 🤷‍♀️ I am sure that after a certain point, my weight will stabilise. Thank you for this reassuring video because these comments and "advices" can be too much sometimes.
Also, may I ask how you ladies manage to maintain your luscious hair? I suffer from hair loss, and I am worried that I might lose more losing weight.

I hate when people say that when we go back to normal, eating the way I "normally" ate caused me to be obese, there is no going back! lol! As far as hair loss, we experienced some, it will happen if you lose a large amount of weight no matter what diet you do it with. It will stop though, so don't worry! We have so much hair to begin with that its hard to tell with us. Some people find success with collagen supplements, in case you are looking to add some to your routine! -Em

I started keto lite about 5 weeks ago for the first time. When us I first started I weighed 340 and have lost about 20 lbs. I agree this is life changing and this journey shouldn’t chain us down. Do you still enjoy the other sweets, breads etc from time to time? What about your Holidays? I love candied yams with marshmallows, do you allow yourself to have “cheat days”? I lost 38lbs in 3 months. In the beginning I tracked my carbs, fats and calories. I did that for about 2 weeks. After that I got an idea of what 20g of carbs looks like and I stopped tracking. I don't have to keep track of calories any more because my appetite has dramatically reduced and I only eat when I get hungry ( which is around 3pm every day). Also, I don't really exercise. I probably should though. But I'm a stay at home mom to a 4 year old and between managing the house and keeping up with her it's hard to find the time and energy to exercise.

The golden shot definitely worked for me in 2013. Now it’s not a golden shot. Now it’s a struggle but if I go to the gym and walk at least 1 mile a day I think I can make it faster. Also, I had a golden shot in 1998 doing gym workout of cardio and weight lifting (not power lifting but basic weights and machines). The diet was protein with brown rice and steel cut oats, veggies, an occasional apple and a daily chocolate whey protein shake. I didn’t track or count macros and the weight came off about 10 pounds a month BUT it was a steady weight loss. Now at I stall out easily with tracking and counting macros. The mental part I’ve taken care of with the Never Binge Again programs.

I found this chanel last week and ever since I am binge watching u two every chance I get. I was always very fit and fitness enthusiasts. I have lost 20 some lb the first time I tried keto when my father got diagnosed with cancer. 4 months back I have lost him. The depression took a toll on me and have put on 50lb, the heaviest I have ever been. I started keto for the 3rd time around last month. Exactly 30 days, I have lost 5 lbs in first 2 weeks. Last few weeks no matter what I do, the scale is not moving. I workout 5 days a week, eat clean, drink atleast 3 to 4 ltrs of water, fast. but still no change. Since I workout in the mornings, doing OMAD is hard. I get hungry. I follow 18:6, and have two meals. Can u suggest anything. I am desperate. This time I have more to lose...whereas last two times I had less to lose. still first few months was not hard.this time around, something is different. When the scale moves I het motivated. Or else I just don't leave my room. Miss my father a lot.

Good conversation and I appreciate your candor. I have done two major 'tours' of low carb (and not keto per se). The first round was a loss of 140 pounds (in a year) and the second round was another 100+ pounds (over 18 months). I do believe that the more you stop and restart, weight loss is much slower so staying the course is important even if you slip once in awhile. Your body gets used to it and you can recover usually quite quickly. I still eat low carb and I am at goal weight. My line of thinking is this: I focus on whether I am eating to avoid disease or promote disease and the older I get (I have about 20 years on you), this is critical. (However, I am not perfect and I miss vodka LOL. It may be carb-free but alcohol gives me a gut ASAP!)

Been on and off keto for 6 years. Most I lost was 50lbs in 4 months. I was going through a divorce and I wasn’t eating a lot of food daily ( was under 1500 calories day) because I was so busy moving and packing.
Moving was a huge workout. So I know the weight was a result of the science of less in more out.
    I went from 189 down to 137. I’m 5’4 medium boned.
I was a size 12/13 to a size 2/4. It was drastic to see.
I did eventually gain most of it back, because depression from my loss set in.
Now I’m in counseling, doing it for all the RIGHT reasons and now I’m losing quickly again, but I eat a bit more and I exercise 3 days a week. Swimming twice a eeek for 30 minutes and kickboxing 1 a week for 1 hour.
You do have to move imo. You will see more weight loss of you move. I also kept my carbs very low. Usually no more than 12 a day. I pre plan and prep my meals weekly, so I never have an excuse. I keep keto friendly deserts around incase my period hits and I can’t resist.
I also never weigh myself during my menstrual cycle. I know it’s not my real weight and I can not expect to lose during that week. I do typically see a 2-3 weight loss at the end of that week that Keeps me motivated to eat keto, even when biologically my body does not want me to.
Stay with it. Go as low on carbs as you can feel good about, test your urine if you’re not sure and don’t give up. They make so many keto products that make life good.
    Keto bread
    Keto pasta
    Keto hamburger buns
    Keto croutons and bagels
    Keto taco shells
    You got this!

I've been maintaining that (not eating low carb) but decided to have another shot at reaching my goal. This time irs been 2 weeks and I've only lost 2kg so far. I think I've got less water weight. Maybe because I'm starting from a slightly healhier place too.

Now I'm back on it and lost 15 pounds in a month already, I doubt I will gain it back even this time. The secret to not gaining back your weight is having a lot of fibre and protein in the diet. Add a little grassfed meat to your lasagna and macaroni. Don't eat carbs without protein next to it. I also don't eat sugar just on a regular basis, whether off keto or on keto, I use stevia for my tea, brown sugar is only for cake

I have mainly lived a low carb diet, but keto really made me think about what I was eating. I counted macros. I blood tested. Now after 1 year of going off keto, I really only gained 5 more lbs. I started again but they made us go back to the office so I have less time to work out and more donut temptations. I have only lost about 3 lbs in 1 month.
