Clara has officially become my absolute favourite companion. The way she handles the Doctor, she has the wit of Donna and the balls of Amy and Martha with a bit of Rory's naiveté thrown in, it's perfect. She's perfect. I also love how dark and edgy this show is becoming, it was perfect to sign on Capaldi and turn the show the way it has. None of the previous Doctors could have pulled off how gritty the show is getting. And the Granddaughter answer, was that a **hint-hint** towards Maisie Williams?
Just wanted to say thank you for putting this up. I just started chemotherapy 2 weeks ago, I'm stuck in bed and it's boring as hell.. these kinda things are making it more not suck as much. Thanks again.

Love Peter Capaldi. Ingenious casting. His lines from season 8 cracked me up - I happen to LOVE LOVE the 'mean' quips. (Esp. when it reminded me of 'In the Loop.') Love his intensity, his eyes. My favorite doctor!
I was sitting back in my chair listening and when Peter was asked what companion he would like to travel with from the past and he said his grand-daughter. I literally whispered "Oh My God" and got really touched because I was reminded that he really did loved Doctor Who as a child and is living his dream.

I must be the weirdest Whovian on the planet, but I never had the "stages of grief" that apparently come to a lot of Whovians when there's a regeneration. I'm actually quite excited to see the Doctor regenerate. It's always exciting to see something new, but it doesn't mean you love the old any less.
+retnavybrat It did kinda happen. Clara started going on a rant and said "Bloody" (which is a curse word in England) and The Doctor said something like "Watch your language." Or similar.
There were two great moments. Moffat looking like he's seen a ghost turned from hilarious to moving when we learned the cause. And the great advise to aspiring actors that didn't even came from the panelists but the moderator. Retroactivly, after reading the comments, Moffats line about being to subtle about his point on the whole gender question also gets hilarious.

+The 5th oh god it's you, I remember you from when you argued like a prat demanding that Christopher Eccleston should've given all the details on why he left the show on another video! You're so angry in all of your comments, just calm down a bit and get a grip.
+Rob Aherne I think he winced because he got a lot of backlash for saying some things people found sexist/homophobic/transphobic (they actually bullied him off twitter and went after his family - Michelle has a family too) - Michelle isn't used to all this attention and I think he's just a bit worried that she might say something that people take wrong and get in the same trouble as he did. I have a feeling that he took her aside after the show and told her to better not say things like "it". When it comes to body language I think it has a lot to do with being nervous. Just watch some of the Behind The Scenes for Michelle's episodes in series 8 - it did look as if Peter and her at least got along really well.
Casting Capaldi must have been a no-brainer. Just look at the credits of "World War Z" and check out the name of the first guy who played "W.H.O. Doctor".

Did anyone else notice the way Jenna was playing around with her necklace when they talked about a female doctor I think that may have been a bit close to the mark. I also think the Maisy character is going to be a young Clara (hence the reason she is wearing the spacesuit the Dr keeps using).
It's an interesting point the host brings up around the 33:00 mark: the feelings of loss/grief for someone you know/love and also the excitement of a new friendship/love. Both are normal, everyday occurrences, but only in Doctor Who can you find both happening at once to the same character. Sydney Newman's greatest plot device was regeneration, IMO.

I miss when the doctor's and companions' characters had so much story arc😔😢.
Did anyone else notice the way Jenna was playing around with her necklace when they talked about a female doctor I think that may have been a bit close to the mark. I also think the Maisy character is going to be a young Clara (hence the reason she is wearing the spacesuit the Dr keeps using).

It's an interesting point the host brings up around the 33:00 mark: the feelings of loss/grief for someone you know/love and also the excitement of a new friendship/love.
Both are normal, everyday occurrences, but only in Doctor Who can you find both happening at once to the same character.
Sydney Newman's greatest plot device was regeneration, IMO.
