Do you have stabilizer bars in the back? You have to show how tight that body roll can be. I screamed in a 81 Firebird Esprit 270 HSP V-6. I loved pushing the car until one day I was a bit nippy at 9 in the morning and took a right on a cold slippery road. As I was spinning 360 into the grass I looked in the rear view and the tires literally unglued the Turf and two perfectly cut dirt tire rows where flew in the air as I stalled and spun out. Started it and took off!

Hello- I love the car. Great Job. I have the same car and I am doing an LS swap this winter. I got the LS3 6.2 Aluminum block. I was interested in the interior and radio. Did your custom build the coffee holder and the radio support? The dash is very cool.

The double din radio piece is from year one. The cup holder is from Amazon, it’s just a universal stainless steel cup holder.

this is a budget build , I would love to know how much was spent . I guess you could call any cost spent a budget build if you started with an amount , a budget build to me is you did the work yourself to keep costs down , if you spent $25,000.00 or less to build this car that would be a budget build but my guess is , without knowing all the details is this car took $50,000.00 to build , an engine alone could be $20,000.00 and doing that makes it not a budget build along with paying others to do all the work

I just looked through the comments and you said you have owned the T/A for 15 years or more so you didn't get it at todays prices and I see it cost $15,000.00 to build which means you did a lot of work yourself and didn't go out and buy a new Eng. / Trans./ ECM and Wiring pkg. So I do consider building this car for $15,000.00 a budget build . Good job and I would like to watch videos of the build if you have them Avail. because I have a 75' T/A that I would like to build like this but may not because then I wouldn't be using a Pontiac V8 and it would be tough to keep the Shaker Hood scoop functional

It’s not for sale, I’ve owned this car for over 17 years, so it would probably cost a lot more than it would be worth. I likely wouldn’t even consider anything under $40k

@@hypno6164 yes, it made 262hp and 302tq to the wheels. That would be roughly 320hp. And 360tq at the crank.

Ridiculous, taking a Pontiac and putting a Chevy engine in? You couldn’t find an 81 Camaro or Z28?

You’re right, I modern, fuel injected car is garbage compared to the Pontiac 301 that this car came with, and that was long gone before I got it. I would love to see something you’ve built.

Some of the 80-81 came stock with 305 engines so the ls is fine

    • @chrisingram4559

It’s a GM engine and if you don’t know they stopped making Pontiac engines a long time ago so if you want something this nice and drivable you do what you have to. Not like he put a ford motor in it. Plus let’s see your car.
