( elderly parent w NPD) last year we were arguing as usual and I told the parent that “BEING OLD DOESN’T EXCUSE BAD BEHAVIOR!” Didn’t do much but made me feel a bit more empowered at the time. Now young and healthy work, and elderly need to stay protected if they so choose to. In the end we are going to lose .03% of our population. They will average age of 80 and 5 underlying conditions. Fauci isn't the type of doctor you see at your Urgent Care. He's a scientist, specifically an immunologist. He does give people prostate exams or writes prescriptions, but instead looks under a microscope, make theories and performs experiments. If you want to criticize him then say he hasn't looked under a microscope in years--that work is most likely performed by a lab tech and Fauci just reads the results of the experiments. Fauci is 79 years old.

@@wendywill7519 Depends. I know some scientists (like epidemiologists) who go into the field to find viral reservoirs for zoonotic diseases and they sometimes have to see patients during their research ("The Hot Zone" tells about some of these scientists).
But they're definitely not seeing patients as their regular work, the way a GP or gynecologist or pediatrician does. They have a different specialty than individual patient care.

You guys are wrong about the average doctor. I, for one have been trying like hell to get answers. The medical board, the health dept., as well as the pharmacy board (who never answered phone calls or emails) were not helpful. Even local news turned a deaf ear when the issues of refusing to fill potentially lifesaving scripts became a reality. You only hear what the media wants you to hear. I failed miserably at getting a platform to share my concerns, so do not get misled.
