I'm a maritime voyeur. But post lottery win I'd be interested in something like a Sunseeker 65 sport yacht or a powercat. I find the kraken 52, powercat with quad outboards, very interesting. Where I live I'd need a cruise ship, high atlantic baby! :D
I’ve had power boats and they are fine. But to be truthful the sailboats I’ve been on were just as enjoyable in a different way that’s all. I do like the quite though, must be a age thing lol
I would love to win the lottery and get a yacht that is a cross between a Silent and something with a sail. Would have to take a lot of lessons though before I set out to visit the med and then over to that Caribbean. Well I can dream but would love to be able to sail all over and perform magic where ever I dock, what a great life that would be.
You beat me to it! I just now commented (Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman) and as I scroll down through the comments, I see you have already picked up on that. "How did you know that I had "Dry" Leprosy?" ... "I Didn't"
I really like you guys. Papillon means Butterfly. The correct way in French, to pronounce it is, papp pee own, or papp pi own. Howeve, the owners or builders may pronounce the L' s. Be well. ✔ papp
Similar to yachts I've sailed on in the past, but holycow, the engine room is basically inaccessible. I don't base that on how you access the engine, but how you remove and replace the engine (don't ask me how I know). By the way, the galley is perfect, as is the master, and nothing makes me more excited than to see a reasonably size chart table. And of course I must remind you there still (no matter how many times you claim to see it) there is no such thing as STORAGES--there is only STORAGE. On that same note, and just as important, you often refer to walkways as "Safe". That's not really the right word--what you mean to say is "Secure"-- that walkway, that staircase, that ladder..."is SECURE" --otherwise, you're saying anything else is UNsafe and that wouldn't be legal by USGG standards, would it? No, it wouldn't it! Did the dress too, by the way.
I love this so much. My buddy has a sailboat very similar to this, my background photo here on youtube is a pic I took off the back of his. Thanks for taking us along Victoria and Rico, stay safe!
This is a perfect boat for experienced sailors.....and I do not use that term lightly....it is a dedicated sailship with main sail...under right conditions it will keel about 25 knots ...you could technically cross an ocean with whatever wind power...that's how it all started...once again you find these gems...keep going please..
Victoria and Rico I love what you both achieve. I wish you both every success from myself in Australia. You sound Aussie sometimes with some sayings😄 . I hope your new boat is coming along well. But thanks overall for your programs. "Catamaran yacht Charters is very good" Merry Christmas's to you both. May you have a prosperous and safe 2023. Regards Stephen Douglass
For the overall size there is a lot of livable room on that boat. You've got a big central area, a little two bed bunk room, and a good sized master bedroom. That is a lot to cram into a yacht that size.
That Vallencia harbour? Was she there 2-3 years ago? Looks familiar. I spent a few nights in Vallencia picking up a 60’ beneteau for an owner who had bought it sight unseen from a previous owner who had used it like a floating chandlery. I seem to remember those concrete piers. Edit: not Valencia, just seen the hills behind town.
Im not familiar with this design... yet anything with the ability to exit the channel area and enter the open ocean for under $5-10 in fuel, is cool! (...that's because it has a wind powered motor. You could also power your way out with an electric trolling motor, charged batteries with a solar panel and wind generator, conceivably using zero carbon production. Which would make even snotty Greta smile. 😐😳😋) 😎🇺🇸🤙
Was this the prototype for the Nordship? Almost identical cockpit, helm layout and large saloon windows. Pity about the wet heads but other than that what a beaut of a boat.
As I've gotten older I find I'm more interested in "stink pots", 30+ years ago I definitely preferred sail. That IS a surprisingly spacious interior for a mono-hull sailboat, even one that is 59' long. With that narrow beam I imagine that under sail she would REALLY scoot along. With an 8'6" draft the dinghy would be getting a LOT of use around the Bahamas (or any other island chain). I'm surprised they don't have solar on the canvas for the cockpit cover, TBH I'd be tempted to have a carbon fiber hard top built for the cockpit roof with some hard panels mounted. Thanks for the tour!
Victoria, Papillon is French for "butterfly." The LLs are silent or actually give a bit of a nasal sound to a real Frenchman or woman. Just saying. 😆 It is a nice boat and would be much cheaper to operate than a motor yacht, I should think.
OK this is off-topic but I have loved the Bering 65 since I’ve seen it but I actually think I like this one more. This is a classic style for a vintage old guy ua-cam.com/video/Pr4fSpTxIFM/v-deo.html
Power boater! A friend of mine had an antique 30' wood hull sailboat we used to take out on Lake Michigan, from Chicago. Way too much work! I want to be able to sit back and enjoy, not constantly be working the boat. This boat looks very nice but not my cup of tea! Great video! Rico is doing the best he can with the - just kidding Victoria! It's called a joke!!!
Love these big steel hulled sailboats, just seems like they can go anywhere in any sea and get you home again! Still waiting to hear about how your new boat is going!
'15:35 Victoria, your English is nearly flawless, but in common usage the term "monstrosity usually carries a negative connotation...did you really mean it?
Details are barely provided. No water tank size, no holding tank size. I see no IAS, or watermaker mentioned, no sail inventory, the sales page doesn't even mention the dinghy.
Everything is beautiful...the only downside for this size vessel is the head in the master cabin..I would like to see a seperate shower with maybe a small sauna ...
Every yacht should have "steam" (lol), will you be puting this unique feature on your NBBL? I could see the owner sailing the Adriatlc popping into Dubrovnik for a nice lunch...ah what dreams are made of. Another great video, keep up the great work looking forward to next week.
Well, that was truly unexpectedly roomy. Love the salon and owner's cabin. The galley layout really gives you good counter top space. I'm not normally a fan of wet heads, but these were spacious, especially the forward head. I normally would keep crew cabins intact to have the flexibility, but in this case I think changing it to a utility room would better serve the boat. Thanks for a great tour of a great boat. Glad you didn't completely eat away.
Nice to see another sailboat on your channel! Since it is an explorer sailing yacht, it would have been interesting to cover a few technical aspects that are important considerations on a sailer. Is the mast stepped on the deck or the keel? What type of keel does it have, with how much ballast? Does the rudder have a skeg? Those kind of things matter. The interior of this boat is well nice! I'd have it.
Thank you so much for highlighting such a lovely boat. This was a real treat, and very much in line with what I am currently looking for. I'm not sure which pays you guys better; the power-yacht toy side of the business, or the blue water sailing/explorer vessel industries? Personally, I am much more interested in the construction and varieties of real sailing yachts, than the mini cruise ships. Having said that, I'm beginning to think that technology has finally reached the point where you can rip out the fuel tanks and diesel engines, on something that was originally a power yacht, and cruise comfortably without having to spend $6,000 for every fuel stop. I hope you guys run across more electric boats in the future, but I'm just delighted every time you guys do anything so I'm just happy to be here ✌️
Hi. You got part of it. I used to teach my sailing students......Port, Left and Red (nav light) all have the fewest letters. Starboard, Right and Green have the most. Really important to know at night WHICH light the other vessel is seeing as they approach you and you can't see your own from the helm.
Holy Moses, it had to be hot out y’all look like you were melting lol I appreciate you guys suffering for our entertainment . I personally prefer power yachts but sailing yachts. Both monohull and catamaran are also really cool. I am so looking forward to more videos on your companion page about your build when there are things to be seen
Cool boat! I would've liked to see the salon without the folding chairs. I bet it would make that space look huge. Great party boat. Great video. Happy Holidays.
Sailing yachts always feel a bit intimidating for me. I suck, so I feel like just navigating on a power yacht would take up enough of my attention that I can't imagine having to manage sails as well. But one thing that totally jumped out at me with this one is that working area in the master. I don't know why, but I want it.
What square rigged ship is in the background, off on the port from the helm? As usual, the tour was great and the inf about the vessel was super. Thanks .
You know we love both, but how about you? Are you a sailer or a power boater? Let me know 👇🏻

Papillion, french for Butterfly, this yacht was likely named after the character in the movie "Papillion", his nickname was papillion,
thanks for sharing Rob
I was thinking the same thing. And replying makes the algorithm tag this as a channel with an active discussion community. 🤑
@@IT_Dinosaur Also crossed my mind but decided nobody wants to name their boat after a convict unless the name is a metaphor for escape and freedom.

Did the dress too, by the way.
My new perfect liveaboard.
I have to admit that the interior of that boat was surprisingly spacious.
I agree... to me it would pass the 'rainy day' test.
yep, part of the reason we decided to film it
Watching the Bering video where they run this motor sailor next to a Bering, it does move and roll. But its a sailboat and is to be expected
OK you got my attention, a sailboat!!!!
I love this so much. My buddy has a sailboat very similar to this, my background photo here on youtube is a pic I took off the back of his. Thanks for taking us along Victoria and Rico, stay safe!
Thanks Joe! Hope you are well
It's very nice for a sail power boat - I'm partial to big, obnoxious CAT engines, personally

I like sailing in light of fuel prices and their being more peaceful. My fear is getting tangled in the ropes and going overboard.
Very cool interior layout

Theirs quite a few I'd pick before it like an Oyster or a Rassy
