You're one of the few channels that just focus on everything sailing, explaining why you do things honestly. Great work, no dramas just good old sailing 👍
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
Full of drama I thought. Hates the motor boats and the wake they leave...
At a fantastic 3km per hour on average, you walk twice as fast as that. Do not know if you would call it sailing more like the boat being pushed along by the wind without sails or meandering on the tide.
The drama fake sailboat shows are usually not sailing and they interview real sailors and cut them down. XXXX those government be channels.
@@icarus877duhhh, he has no wind genius? What’s your problem and point? ZERO. Good for him. Reality.
Find a partner who talks about you the way Igor talks about his hat. 😍
😃🙌👍
What was the brand of hat? I couldn't find it

Hey Igor, me and a friend of mine sailed from Monfalcone to Vodice in Croatia this August, with a hobie 16. We sailed 450 km in 2,5 weeks. It was a great adventure. And i was inspired from your previous sailing videos. Thanks for that.
Cool👍 I also sailed last 2weeks of august from Marina Julia. Where do you keep your boat? I will probably change to Hobie 16 as it looks higher from the sea. FX is the best boat I sailed but maybe low for camping.
Guys, did younhavemsome problem with your cat? On all forums everyone says to avoid mooring, you have to take your cat out of the water etc.
@@EFFE356
Yes you just drag it on land. This cats are very light. No problem for two persons.
Or you drop an anker and tight a rope to a tree or a rock.
@@IgorStropnik
We were in the same area at the same time. Maybe we've missed each other just for a few hundred meters. We traveled from west austria, with a the boot on a trailer to monfalcone. With two person and all the camping gear we were quite low in the water but still high enough. So for one person with the gear i think it's perfect.
The banana hulls of the hobie 16 made it quit comfortable in waves. We slept a few times on the boot but it has a bit of a bend in the trampoline. So it's not completely leveled. But i don't have a comparison to another boot. It was our first trip with the boot and our first real sailing experience on the sea.
But the boot did a great job.
We also had the problem that we get overpowered very fast. So i made exactly the same experience. The hook, on the top of the mast is not really handy when you have to reef the sail. Also a second reef in the mainsail would by a great thing. We also didn't had a furling jib, which i missed a lot.
@@EFFE356 No problem. Why problem? Its a boat.
I keep telling people: Buy an old Hobie, get some camping gear and you will have the vacation of a lifetime... LOVE your videos btw. They are more adventurous than most other dinghy cruising channels. but I like those as well.
Exactly 🙌👍👍
❤🧡💛 We love your videos. They are so optimistic, positive and natural, without acting or pretending to be important. Thanks for sharing 🧭⚓
Thanks 🙏🙌👍
We just sailed much of the same route in our 12meter monohull. I wish I found your video before. Your observations on the morning wind are spot on, we started using them in August and they have been great for making progress north in light winds. Thanks so much for sharing this video!!!
@@MathieuKLegault Thanks 🙏
I love that you don't hide the fact that a friend ahead of you is supplying beers.
😃🙌🍻
Great video. Love the simplicity of the trip, back to basics, all sailing. At the same time it shows what a beautiful sea you have there. Well done
Thanks 🙏
I have NEVER watched a 3 hour video on UA-cam...until now. I am really enjoying your 1100km sail. Absolutely loved the beer delivery system you have worked out. I subscribed
Thanks 🙏
Just stumbled onto this and I have mad respect for you. I wouldn't spend more than a day on my boat (defender 27 foot sailboat) if it didn't have a cabin to do my things in and store my stuff.
Really cool how your boat moves with so little wind. I need at least 3-5 knots of wind to get my boat moving at all.
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
I used to sail an 11 foot Styrofoam sunflower sailboat with 5 m. sail . It was so small , I had to sit with my legs over the side .
It was fun in medium winds ! Your cat is like a luxury liner compared to my little boat .
🙌🍻
THANKS FOR THE SAIL! It was really great of you to take us along. Here's to Poseidon, and the sailing Gods my friend!
Thanks 🙏
What a beautiful place to wake up to on Day four. I would have been tempted to spend the day there.
Croatia has many places like that 👍
What a beautiful place for a summer home. That was nice of them to share water.
Yes, good people 👍
Inspirational sail. So much fun to watch every moment. Can’t believe the driving behaviors of those power boats crossing you and passing so close!
Thanks 🙏👍🍻
I've recently been fascinated with all that is sailing & wound up here on your channel. I watched all 3 hours & loved every minute - thanks for being so thorough in your explanations. Some day I hope to have these type of adventures on the seas.
Thanks 🙏
Igor, enjoyed flying with you... thanks.
Thanks 🙏🍻
What an adventurer. Greatly appeciated Video. Thanks.
Thanks 🙏🍻
oh. a new video. i really like what your doing. allways good winds and a handwide water under the kiel
🙏🙌👍🍻
Thanks for taking me along for the ride... couldn't not watch the whole trip. Truly enjoyed your commentary and explanations of everything. Thanks Igor.
Thanks 🙏
Great content I have learned more about sailing watching your channel then any other channel out there keep up the good work
Thanks 🙏🍻
dude i dont even remember when i found ur channel ive been following you for so long at you always put a smile on my face with these videos
Thanks 🙏🍻🙌👍
This man is crazy! Love the video! keep up the good work!
🙏🙌👍🍻
Very nicely done. You are a great sailor / adventurer. I've been sailing monohulls for 25 yrs, mostly solo...and summer time I sail like it's my daily job. Out in morning back in evenings. First time seeing your videos...ah, a sailor! I'm wintering in Canada, boat on the hard, and it's nice to see and hear the water.
Well done!!
Thanks 🙏 Has to be cold in Canada.
Just picked up a new Hobie 16, Igor! 5th hull out of the new production facility. This video and many others you have are inspirational! Thanks!
Nice ⛵️🙌👍 Thanks 🙏
You could use a foam floor on the trampoline, it keeps you dry from undersplash and it is much more sturdy! You could use it in the front side of the trampoline also to make a dry pocket for your stuff!
Good idea 👍
I wouldn't advise this. The tramp is mesh to reduce loads on it and the boat and itself when waves hit it. Stopping the waves going through the tramp will transfer the loads to the eyelets and the boat attachments and could cause failure.
@@mikesurcouf7478 waves don't hit the mesh, it is just splashes from underneath. The foam floor is ultra light and spreads the load better on the trampoline.
I used to watch Hobie Cats on Howard Prairie Lake in Oregon, they were fun to watch. Your route is quite nice. I have a former colleague I know in Dubrovnik, an amazing city, another seafarer's city like Venice. I read several sailing books and have been sailing, on Lake Tahoe. I have enjoyed reading Robin Lee Graham's "The Dove", Robert Manry's "Tinkerbelle", Patrick Elam's and Colin Mudie's "Two Against the Western Ocean" and 'Kon Tiki", all true stories I read as a teen in the 70's.
Videos like yours are so enjoyable--showing men sailing with the seas, sharing their love of the waves and sailing with the wind.. "The Dove" was made into a movie by Gregory Peck, the famous actor, which I have on mp4, a rare find. Kon Tiki is also a movie.
Thanks for sharing your video, it is so nice to watch, and well made and narrated.
Thanks 🙏
I love your idea of the milk jugs at the top of the sail That is a good tip.
Just bought original mast float as they were banging at night and lost one as rope got cut as to much movement. Could attach them better. But it prevents from 180deg capsize.
Superb! Thanks Igor, keep on sailing so bravely.
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
You definitly won my subscription.i did all these islands of croatia, by car and some by boat. you're giving me the courage to buy same boat for shilling here and there. I'd have love to see you catching some fish and cooking coz that's my objective also.
Lovely trip
Thanks 🙏 Yes I have to improve my cooking
A truly amazing video and concept. You have really captured the joy of real sailing (catamaran or monohull according to taste and temperament). I really had a flashback to my childhood and youth in the 70s and early 80s in the southern Norwegian archipelago with a Laser (the original) where we sailed and had pleasant day trips all summer. The filming is also incredibly well done considering how difficult it is to film when you sail such a boat alone. I really like the concept of keeping it simple and the way you rigged the tent is brilliant. The scenery in your part of the world is also truly amazing. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻 I love Norway sailing.
⁶hl
Thanks for reminding me of my youth not on water but solo backpacking the mountains in winter.
Thanks a lot 🙏🙏🍻🙌👍
Adventure upgrades... Add some large gym mats to your tramp for wave protection, a sculling oar off the stern for power, wing seats with gear pods help prevent capsizing.
Wings working on 👍
This is wild. Love the video. Keep it up!!!
Thanks 🙏
Super video! Great you made it home before the storm. Uvijek mirno more i puna jedra. Deo Gratias
Thanks 🙏🍻
What a great adventure! As a true Italian, I can even forgive you for unstrained spaghetti, seasoned with ketchup! 😂Thanks a million for the video and the report.
I would have liked a final summary of the nights and how many supplies you consumed, etc. Great!🎉
Thanks 🙏
i love this guys reaction on 1:18:14 “oh nooo mama mia”
The hat is definitely the hero of the trip. 😛
Excellent video.
Thanks 🙏
great video-reminding me of some great summers I spent sailing in Croatia. Thanks for that👍
Thanks 🙏
I have a splash-guard, to keep things dry. White tarp curled up around the front cross bar to prevent scooping. Half way down underneath the tramp..spend last winter doing repairs..
You have picture or video? Need to do something.
Thank you for taking us along on your adventure. It's very inspiring to see you brave the waves. Looks like a beautiful 14 days sailing. I never even thought about sailing like what you're doing. Keep up goo 2:56:35 d attitude towards people cutting across your bow. Thats not a very nice way to take advantage of you. Waking you in your travels rather than going to your stern. I am in USA , cape cannaveral, florida. Watched whole video, it was great. Thank you.
Thanks 🙏 Have been to space center long time ago.
@IgorStropnik then you know where I live, I get to step out of my house and about 10 miles from launch pads where they lauch space x rockets. I'm watching the video where you and that couple are sailing catamaran. Lagoon 52 Amsterdam to Mediterranean. Looks like good sailing. 👍
I love your simple no nonsense style. One could actually learn at thing or 2 from watching your videos 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻👍
Always great videos! Thank you Igor!

That was a fantastic adventure. I sail a similar boat and race it twice a week all summer. Fun but I’ve never thought of doing what you did. My hat’s off to you Brother. Well done.

A fantastic sail ! The small cat let's you feel everything and you can live on the edge .

Hi, Igor I used to say Hobie cats in my youth. The FX one looks amazing. I really really enjoyed this. Thank you so much for taking us along.
No, no your diaper bit the big one So much fun hanging out. Those dagger boards are absolutely amazing. You don’t have to worry about current so much. So glad you made it to your destination just in the nick of time. Thank you so much for great video. Cheers from California.⛵️😎🐬🇺🇸

Thanks 🙏🍻🙌
very inspirational, it took me almost two days to watch this video. your videos are always educational
Thanks 🙏
I recently had my first sailing experience on a small hobie cat and absolutely loved it! I really enjoyed your video and the simplicity and straight fwd approach you have. Also, I really enjoyed your dry humour. Thanks for making this video🤙
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻👍
Your knowledge of sailing is phenomenal. I learned so much watching you
Thanks 🙏🍻🙌
Fantastic video! I enjoyed all 3 hours. Hobie Cats are such amazing little boats, I always thought they could do more than people give them credit for. I've spent a lot of time on a tiny Hobie Getaway and just love it so much, they really do pick up a lot speed when the conditions are right. They are great fun.
Thanks 🙏 Hobie is the best!
so happy to find your channel
Thanks 🙏🙌
So glad I found you, Capt. I have just over a year left before I embark on my last item of my bucket list. Crossing Atlantic on catamaran, solo. Thanks to you I might change the destination in Europe to that beautiful wine cellar in Croatia. Thank you for all your advice and tips.
Thanks 🙏
As always very interesting. And a good article was published in More magazine. Thanks ⛵
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
Another great job..
Thanks 🙏👍🍻
Good timing with your return, Igor! That storm looked like one of our hurricanes.

Glad you're safe. Thanks for recording just how terrifying the sea can be. All the best from Devon

Excellent video and a beautiful spot, thanks for sharing. I’ve thought about maybe getting a Hobie Cat myself.
Thanks 🙏
Truely inspiring, thank you!

Igor, I have been inspired to do full-time live aboard sailing with channels Gone With The Wynns and Sailing Zatara, but you my friend are the one that shows everyone the mechanics of how to sail. All of your videos are so informative and inspirational. I have no sailing experience and want a large catamaran, but I think now that I will get a Hobie Cat to first develop the fundamental skills to fully understand sailing. Your video series with large catamarans is so well done. Many thanks for sharing your joy & experience of sailing!⛵️
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
Love this channel!
Thanks 🙏
I'm only halfway through, but looks like a beautiful trip! Hello from Canada.
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
Congrats Igor
Thanks 🙏 What is your next project?
Amazing. I only recently began looking at sailing, but the days of my youth are long gone. My winter mountaineering days backpacking days are also gone. So i love what you’re doing. Considering take sailing lessons, but sitting a couple of hours leaves me with stiff joints and the need to get up and walk around necessitates a boat that displaces a lot of water.
Thanks 🙏 Catamaran could be good boat to try.
great trip... great video... 👍
Thanks 🙏
One of the most inspiring things that I've ever watched, (3 times actually)😂 Great video Igor. ✌
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
