    I love these bows. And their tools can and will serve their purpose at some point. I hunt the Adirondacks in upstate NY and was miles from my vehicle on a hunt and cut my string accidentally. Had a backup in my pack and was able to fix my bow and keep hunting. Never know when ur gonna need it.

    I bought my APA Black Mamba Air over the summer, and I am still in love with it. I think the cam design of all APA bows make them feel more aggressive. Where you hear some people with some bows say, "This doesn't feel like 70 lbs," well an APA at 70 lbs feels like 70 lbs and can feel jumpy off that back wall, especially if you don't get that limb stop in a good position for you. So, what i did was I turned my Mamba Air down to 60 lbs and even with my 27in draw length, i only lost about 6 fps with my arrows (still spitting faster than most bows at my draw length), yet it was so much more comfortable to shoot. Most days, unless I was in the woods, I was shooting 100 to 200 arrows and sometimes more. In 2 months, I wore out my d-loop.
    I think if you don't like the feel of the APAs or it feels harder than you are used to with other bows at a given weight, turn it down 5 or 10 pounds and I believe you will like how the APA feels then. As your body gets stronger and more used to it, you can turn it up 2-5 pounds ever couple of months. Thats what I have done.
    I do wonder what APAs would be like if they had adjustable let-off, hopefully that will be in the future for their cams.

    Brandon, thanks for doing this review.
    APA Bows have served me well in both eastern whitetail setups, as well as 2-week western backpack setups for elk and muleys.
    For clarification, the hardware upgrade that APA offers is Titanium hardware, not stainless steel.
    Keep up the great reviews!

    If there was more dealer support. These bows would dominate the industry.
    And to think....these have been the same bow designs from APA for almost 10 years. Let that sink in. The bow has been around that long in its current design. And the previous model was similar for the 10 Yeats before that. Best bows in the world.

    Hey Brandon,
    Great review. I know it might be repetitive, but could you do a review on the BM33? There are really no good reviews out there for that bow as far as the speed, feel, and stability go. Would really appreciate it!

    Been looking forward to this one. Was gonna check out the black mamba 29 for my wife but I found a great deal on an elite allure. Still the only guy shooting like a real guy practices for a review. Pj from Lancaster is doing it but you do it better. I got my spectra e after watching your review and finding one cheap.

    Another great review. Being a 30” dl myself I was interested in the BM33 but hard to find a used one. I was gonna say one thing to add to the review is a let down. My xcentric at 64lbs and probably 75% let off is easier to let down then my spectra e at 59lbs and 85% let off. I like the valley and let off on the spectra for hunting but will be contacting darton about the adjustable let off mods for the spectra.

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  8 місяців тому +1

      From years of hunting it has slowly become my target speed, after shooting hundreds of bows and different arrow set ups seems to be on average the higher end of what I can get with the arrows weight I like to use, just trying to balance arrow grain and fps, I like to be right around 475-500 grains, honestly what I caught myself hoping I would be in somewhere along the way

    Great review! How does the draw cycle of Apa's bow compare to BT's Core SR? I think you hated that draw cycle if I recall correctly.

    • @rupertmedford3901
      @rupertmedford3901 9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah, he was pretty critical of the Core SR draw... Too much so I think. I bought the Core SR and shoot it on performance and it definitely has a tough spot at the back of the cycle but it's not that bad. Previously, I was shooting an 80 lb PSE Omen with the fastest cam. It was absolutely scalding fast but the draw cycle on it would wear your shoulder out. In fact it did mine. I ended up buying a Hoyt VTM 33. I hated it. I'm just not a Hoyt guy. I purchased it because of the super smooth draw but it's the slowest bow that I've owned in a while. I ended up going with the BowTech Core SR and I dropped my arrow weight. For me it's going to be the perfect happy medium between speed and draw cycle. It might be my favorite bow that I've ever owned. And if I ever get to where I'm having shoulder problems I can just flip the disc. Plus BowTech has a lot of built-in technology for the at-home tune.

    • @j-yakk
      @j-yakk 9 місяців тому

      @@rupertmedford3901nice, it seems like Mathews lift is steeling the lime light, but Bowtech's bows this year are solid with some great tech. I almost bought the SR 350, and went with the SS instead, I hunt Midwest white tail and turkey, high 280's ft/sec works well for me. I run a 452 gr. Arrow and shoot on performance, smooth as butter. Glad to hear you landed on Bowtech!

    The tech in the riser seems to make sense but not so much. I carry in a hunting bag with my tools, headlamp, flashlight, extra gloves, bow ropes, and something to drink so having what this riser offers is pointless. Next I have shot quite a few bows and have for sure found large rounded cams to have the least labor intensive draw aka elite sp2 and hoyt hbx pro or athen's cams. With those tiny cams that bow has to be horrible to draw after 50 shots?

    2005 to 2013 bows were built to last and very high performance. now speeds are slower, harder to tune, extremely gimmicky nonsense. apa did have to bow tools built in way back then, back then, real tests now, most modern bows iare reality 335 is 316, 344 is 333, 350 is 340 if you can f around tuning them, something that wasnt needed way back then. technology going backwards rapidity no wonder people replace bows every year. it’s crazy
