This is such a great illustration of how power is being conveyed while still showing respect to other crews. He wasn’t telling them not to run the scam, just not to run it there. Honor among thieves, so to speak.

Back then the Chicago Outfit ran Vegas. Any mobster from any of the five families of New York or anywhere else would have known better to have pulled some shit like that in Vegas back then. They'd have never made it out of Vegas alive. Chicago ran everything west of the Mississippi, The 5 families ran everything east of the Mississippi. Arizona and Southern Florida were open territory.

Love the 'italian' speak in this scene. This is what it generally means:
Nicky: I'm over here now. I'm over here with him. (Trans: I'm the muscle protecting this casino, and also Sam)
Guys: We're just waiting on Carmine (Trans: We thought we had the green light to come here and waiting to get paid)
Nicky: I saw him before he had a suitcase and everything and left (Trans: No. You must leave now and can't take this casino's money with you, but we will also forget you even came here.)
Guys: Carmine left? He's gone? He's not here? (Trans: We didn't know you were here. Can we leave without causing a problem?)
Nicky: Yeah I think y'know he might have went across the street or somewhere else I don't know (Trans: You can rob the other casinos in the area, just not this one. We'll give you a pass today as a warning)
Guys: Well listen uh.. good luck with the joint (Trans: We sincerely apologize and it won't ever happen again, we appreciate the respect you showed us)

Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD.
[14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH , and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
      John 1:10
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

The guy with the beard was in Goodfellas wearing the glasses sitting next to Henry during the "you're a funny guy" scene. He was a cop in real life who ended up mobbed up. Wasn't really intimidation, just a warning that there's a new crew running the place so the show's over.

They were made guys. Nicky was just letting them know that they can't rob this place. Once they got the message they moved on. Its business. They understood.

Joe couldn't intimidate a 5 year old, it's laughable he was cast in this role.
Anything that's got a midget as the bad ass was surely a director have fun with the audience.

I think those 2 balloon heads are still looking for Carmine, Pesci nailed this scene 👍

I cannot say I can imagine Joe Pesci playing the part of a leading male ballet dancer as realistically as Tom Cruise for example, but for this type of movie there is none better. He is very, very, real.

Oh, I can see him doing a ballet dancer role just fine. I mean, as long as it's okay for him to pull out a .38 and yell at another dancer, "dance, Spider! Dance the fnckin' drink back here!"

The best part is the intimidation through silence, when he doesn't answer 'Carmine left ? He's gone ? he's not here ? Carmines gone...nothing but a subtle blank stare says it all - they got the message

The way Nicky walks in with his hand 3/4 clenched at 0:10 makes it clear who’s going to be in charge here.
Then the relaxed authority he projects with this hand in front of him and fiddling with the toothpick in his mouth.
Small details that make the scene work even without a word of dialogue.
