Kenny and Micheal co-wrote this one.
Indeed👍👍.
Heard this song thousands of times, but never this version. This is incredible.
Kenny Loggns is and has always been underrated.
Angry Eyes..Loggins and Messina...great tune.
Yes, yes. Outside From the Redwoods was a concert album and DVD from Kenny Loggins. Shanice shows up as a special guest in addition to Michael. Kenny’s band here is superb, the venue is breathtaking and the arrangements and performances of these songs are completely unique. This is a treasure trove, y’all! Great selection and reaction ❤
Thanks for the suggestion, that song he does with her is great. They sound terrific together.
Oh please please please watch more live performances of Kenny Loggins at either this Red Rocks or the Grand Canyon concerts. He and the whole band will blow your minds! From this same Red Rocks concert, I'm sure you'd enjoy Celebrate Me Home, If You Believe, and Conviction of the Heart as well as an especially charming acoustic version of House at Pooh Corner.
I absolutely adore this version of What a Fool Believes by the co-writers.
Man listen, 2 of the most blue -eyed soul brothers you gone run across. Both on the stage at the same time. Just wow!
This whole Kenny Loggins live album is amazing. Outside: From the Redwoods. He does a song with Shanice called Love will follow, it kills. She was an up and coming star at 18 yrs old on this record.
A thousand times YES!
This is why I love you guys! You react to the good stuff that no one else reacts to. Love this version of this song! Props to whoever recommended this one.
Kenny and Stevie Nicks duet is a must.
Logins- House at Pooh Corner is great for adults as well as children. It’s a beautiful, sweet song.
They wrote What a Fool Believes Togerher. Amazing version per their styles. You should really check out the live version of Angry Eyes by Loggins and Messina.
Wow! Just, Wow! The best version of this song I have heard. Thanks for making me aware of it. Great job reacting guys!
Two of the very best singers... And what a groove played by a fantastic band.
LOVED the way the hand drums-guy was SMILING so BIG - THIS just looks like it would've been a TRUE PLEASURE to be performing THIS SONG - with ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL SOUND comin'-OUT!! OMG!!!
First time hearing the two of them together. WOW! You should check out Angry Eyes. Kenny Logins and Jim Mesina. Excellent reaction, fellas 👌
Absofuckinglutely!
excellent-what a jam!
Wow Wow Wow! This is new to me and I love it!! Thank you.
my favorite version of this song.
I like the collab of Kenny Loggins/Michael McDonald. “This Is It” is my favorite duet of theirs, but this a cool version of the Doobie Bros hit.
People be sleeping on Kenny Loggins. That voice though...
If you like Kenny Loggins with the same guy on sax (Mark Russo I think) check out ‘Celebrate Me Home’ live from the Grand Canyon 1992. Knock your socks off and have you in tears.
How bout some love for the awesome sax player
Kenny Loggins. Outside From The Redwoods is a great album! Public Television broadcasted the whole concert in the 1980's. You may be able to find it on UA-cam. Check out the duet he does with Shanice! It's special.
Reminds me, I have the cd somewhere.
Kenny would be a great artist for y’all to explore. We used to listen to him on 8 track. He’s a great artist IMO
The harmonies were 🔥
❤ Marc Russo on alto sax kills it. I've been so wanting you boys to hit this live version. Whole concert is dope. Mike McD...c'mon man! Check out Kenny's duet with Shanice from this same concert. Killer!!
What a treat you guys, l've never seen that before, l want more!!!🤘🥰🎶
Unbelievable performance! Thanks for reacting to this because I’m 63 and have never heard this version before now… thanks again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
3:03 - thanks for that veto, La! 😂
BEAUTIFUL.
It's a Loggins/McDonald co-write. Kenny did it this way, Michael's version is from the Doobies' "Minute To Minute" album.
This was special
It's been mentioned already but this is a concert that I remember being televised on PBS back in the day. Kenny Loggins Live Outside: From The Redwoods was worth watching. The entire concert is terrific, but this song (that they co-wrote) and his duet with Shanice Wilson are worthy of more reactions.
Loggins can sing 🤘🤘
Loggins can *sang* 😎
GREAT TUNE, HERE!!! ENJOY, YOU-GUYS!! You two should check out Angry Eyes with Loggin & Messina (Live) - you won't regret it!! HUGS, YA'LL!!!
You could wake Kenny up at 3 am and say sing Kenny and it would be perfect....😂
Wow that’s a very nice version of that song with them too
Loved this live version. Thanks for sharing this!
I loved the reaction, guys! To be a tree there! Lol, I love it! I've not heard Kenny do this before. The rhythm during the chorus gives me an Al Green "Let's Stay Together" vibe. It's smooth, no denying it!
Yes a live Kenny concert. Have the DVD watch many times. Outstanding musicians and guests. You must check it out. Love you guys videos. 🙏🏼
Oh yeah, those dudes can sing! And excellent musicianship. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
Dazed and Confused live MSG ‘73
I Love this performance! But...I am old so, to Me, Loggins was at his peak with Messina, those songs took me places without being trippy, always felt comfortable...just sweet music...the best thing to me is, they keep going, things change, but the quality is Always there...Great react!
...and being a tree! LOL
What a great find! Never heard them singing this together..
You really should do I'm Alright from the same show
WOW!!!
Thank you ❤️
Bad Company - Live for the Music
They co wrote the song and recorded it on the Doobie Brothers album and Kenny Logins album
This is It and Heart to Heart are a couple of good ones they do together. Their voices are so different but blend so beautifully
Kenny Loggins is one of the best songwriters of the 70's-80's. Check out Leap of Faith and Conviction of the Heart from his Grand Canyon live album!!
Hands down the best version of this song
This performance was from a Kenny Loggins album called "Outside From the Redwoods".
Vicki1120 is absolutely correct…What a Fool Believes is a Loggins and McDonald composition👍🏼👍🏼.
You need to do hall & Oates Do what you want be what you are. You will be blown away
These two came to Gathering on The Green in Mequon, Wis. maybe 5 years ago. It was outdoors and was just so very awesome. Two of the best voices to ever grace a stage. All the ladies just quietly swooned, including my wife!
I would go back further on Kenny Loggins when he was part of Loggins and Messina and check out "Watching the River Run" or "Angry Eyes (live version). Messina, basically, discovered Kenny and he is no slouch songwriter and singer, either.
Love it. I wonder where they were...?
Love me some Kenny Loggins ❤
It was written by Loggins and McDonald and first released by the Doobies.
4:51 he said and being a tree 😅
Love your videos! Try to find Be Thankful for What You’ve Got by William DeVaughn. 1974 and such a cool vibe.
Not my fave Doobies song, but WOW, this version is 🔥
Magnificent rendition!!!!!
A 1977 Doobie Brothers album has some great songs on it. The album is called LIVIN ON THE FAULT LINE. You will love it Michael McDonald shines.
You'd never regret diving down the loggins rabbit hole. So many great songs. Yes, it's a loggins concert from the redwoods. I have the DVD. It's all great.
If you've not already, be sure to watch the other tunes from that Kenny Loggins concert. 🏆
This is an amazing reworking of their song - the doobie’s version was all about hypnotic metronome-like hits and beats, and here it’s become a great soul groove…🔥. reworked chord progressions too 🏆
Love this sooo much!! Thanks guys!! ❤
This is a great one!
One of the best concerts ever!
Loggins & Messina most excellent song Angry Eyes needs a review imo
Thank you for
this. This concert and his cocert at Redrock are different and I've loved the both for more than 30 years. He performs an unbelievable Vocalease version of his song Celebrate. He almost becomes the saxaphone.
Have never seen this, amazing!
Kenny Loggins had his own version of this song on his album “Nightwatch”.
The Doobies version being the more popular version
I know Im just a commentator...but I was listening to 100 % Cumbian Fun Lovin Criminals.
You know them? Jazzy trippy Rap...
Great song. Wondering what venue was this
This and "Black Water" are the only two #1 songs by the Doobie Brothers. With all their hits it seems hard to believe.
Yeah. It makes no sense but there were so many great songs during that period.
I think this cut was from Kenny's "Live at the Redwoods" album.
Live from Endor

@@AirplayBeats righteous ♥️ still holds deep meaning for me and my HS sweetheart , Hank Bibby. We both still respect each other, but a hard breakup all the way around. I learned. And I am so grateful 🥲 Thank you!!! 🙌🏻
"I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Michael McDonald. Nothing against him, but if I hear "Yah Mo B There" one more time, I'm going to "Yah Mo" burn this place to the ground."
👍
If you ever get to see the giant redwoods. Your mouth well drop open and you well feel very insignificant.
that look at 1:13. LOLZ
Or at least released with massive success by the Doobies. I think Loggins released it earlier.
Just realised that you guys haven’t reviewed any Neil Diamond tunes? Maybe do some of his live performances from the 70s… (his peak years)
Maybe Red Rocks
UC Santa Cruz.,
Banana Slugs!! ❤😊
David Sanborn on alto saxophone ?
I know, sounds just like him so I had to look it up. It was Marc Russo at this show.
@@pescadote64 oh thanks- good catch. He and Sanborn both Yellowjackets players, so from the same (Old)School 👍🏼
@@annbeguity5932that would be Pleasant Hill high school in Marc's case... now with the Doobies, formerly with Kenny
@@pescadote64 Thank you !
I feel theyre a little off actually when they harmonize...😮
Whoa, I had totally conflated Kenny Loggins and Kenny Rogers. I was confused for a solid 90 seconds watching this.
Ugh no, the studio version actually sounds good
umm, the bar where the yacht-rockers go to booze it up? Hard? WTH is hard about this lullaby??
You’re misunderstanding our use of the word. Carry on!!
McDonald ruined The Doobie Brothers imho. He is the Rock equivalent of a Hallmark greeting card.
Or did he save them? I agree it’s like two different bands.. but when Tom was sick for more than a year, McDonald carried them for a little while. Definitely brought a different audience.
