💬Kenny Loggins is another artist who I would like to explore more if I start doing my own reactions. This video was less involved to make, which is just what I needed after doing The Great Gig in the Sky twice. As always, thank you all for being here. ONTO THE NEXT! 💜
@@Duct_Tape. Caddyshack is another movie that brings back childhood nostalgia... and before life bitch slaps you in the face in adulthood. We watched that movie a million times in my house... and the chorus of I'm Alright always makes me think of the dancing gopher in the hole. I love that memory for some reason. lol
This song saved my soul more than once when I was experiencing trauma. I wrapped myself in it to get through it. “Still somehow I believe we always survive”. “Stand up and fight”.
This was used and played for years as the theme song for the final four of the men’s NCAA basketball tournaments. They would start playing the song at the beginning of the broadcast and showing the final four teams and how they made it there and the lyrics are just perfection because the song says “This is it, make no mistakes when you walk, or your goin no further, until it’s over and done, your backs to the corner. Are you gonna wait for a sign, here’s your miracle, stand up and fight! You’re backs to the corner. This is it!”
Started with a band with Jim Messina called Loggins & Messina. I didn’t really hear Kenny til his solo releases, which I heard about same time as Steely Dan. Celebrate Me Home I Believe in Love (cover of song by Barbara Streisand) I’ve Got the Melody (w/Patti Austin) Redwoods Concert Love Will Follow(w/Shanice) I Would Do Anything ( “ ) What a Fool Believes (w/Michael McDonald) This Is It Now and Then
Two ABSOLUTE LEGEN……………………..DARY voices of my childhood! Kenny sang on the soundtracks of most of my favorite movies of the 80s! Caddy Shack, Over The Top, Top Gun!
I was always crazy about this tune and thought it was a love song to his woman. I was surprised when I heard him say it was a song for his father. He had a fight with his dad when he was going into the hospital and had given up. This was a way to tell him not to give up.
Kenny's appearance on "Fridays" singing this tune is a sight to behold. Amazing musicians and Kenny making green pants and a sweater look cool while singing his ass off.
This was the unofficial song for University of Louisville in Kentucky when they won the National Championship in mens basketball when this song came out.
Wow, I was just listening to this song last week. The acoustic version at the end brings back some good memories when I worked at Walmart in the early 90s. This version came on all the time...good times!!!
The episode of Archer featuring Kenny Logins is so funny. He plays himself as a badass and calls himself K-Log or some damn thing 😂 🎶🎶Right into the danger zone🎵🎶
Would you say… that’s we are in a zone… of danger? Literally Kenny Loggins is one of the only artists cool enough to have TWO songs in a movie like Top Gun. The dude ruled the 80s, had songs featured prominently in three different movies!
Thanks for introducing me to new songs! What a banger!! It looks like there's a lot of reactions to Michael McDonald - I keep forgetting - could that be a video on your list maybe?
Yes, I have that one, minute by minute and what a fool believes very near the top. I will choose one of those to do within the next 3-4 videos. I think I know already which it's going to be but stay tuned! So happy to hear you're discovering new music being here. That's awesome.
I LOVE IT WHEN YOU HAVE "ALL" THE REACTION TOGETHER AND THEIR LOOKS ON THEIR FACE IS AWESOME...ESPECIALLY "ANTON REACTS" HE NEVER HEARD OF IT AND VIEW FROM THE 502
Well kids, welcome to the tunes your parents listened to in grade school! (while noting the possible exception of the Graybeard gent at 2.45) Somewhere between Bowie, Queen, and Numan, there was Kenny Loggins, like an annoying gnat, slipping in and out all through the 70s. You couldn't get away from the guy. And just when you thought HE was excellent, he brings in a ringer-Michael McDonald. (For me, THE voice of the Doobies. That guy's got a voice like black velvet.) And here, at my age, I'm back in 8th grade again and I remember how much I hated it. Good thing we had excellent tunes. It's always a little more fun for me with these 70s reactions. It's worlds away from what these young people grew up with and every time, I get that "Yeah, WE did that." feeling. (And just a note to @AntonReacts, tho we have no pix of the historical Jesus, I'm guaranteeing he wasn't a white Ginger.) Another great tile in the #WonderMommaOG musical mosaic! Thanks, #Momma!
Hey Momma, I think this song was kinda serendipitous for me. Cause by chance every single day driving to school, this song would come on the radio and they would sing to me all the way. Yes, every single day for over a yr. But it never was a bad thing cause its a great song, just strange. Not sure if I should have taken that as a sign of somekind or if it was just that popular since it was kinda new at the time. lol...Thanx so much, take care.
You always find the perfect match of reactions/channels Momma. I hope @Jamel_AKA_Jamal watched the making and heard the acoustic version, a much deeper tempo with emotions, he mentioned the song meaning and Kenny's father. Another great one. 🤩 Have you thought about/done Heart LZ Tribute STH at Kennedy Center? I know you are sweet on the Wilson sisters. 😍 Please and thank you. 😁
Can I please just relive the late 60s through the early 90s please… Best Era in music because they were also still playing our parents music from the 50s…..
“Don’t Fight It”- Kenny Loggins + Steve Perry kicking ass w/ their combined vocals…oh Neil Gerardo (Pat Benatar’s husband) adds a guitar that will melt the paint & wall paper off your abode!
People hear Kenny Loggins' name and I'm sure their thoughts go to Top Gun and Danger Zone. He had more than that. And Michael McDonald is an underrated talent as far as I'm concerned.
MAN WHAT YOU DO TAKES ALOT OF WORK AND EDITTING...WOW...THAT IS VERY COMPLEX...ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE ANYMORE LIKE THIS...PLEASE LET ME KNOW OR IS PEOPLE NOT DOING REACTS ANYMORE
Thank you... appreciate that. I am definitely going to keep doing these videos. I also have a channel where I react to music. I have a few Loggins and Messina reactions up if you'd like to check them out. www.youtube.com/@TheRealMommaOG/videos

Hello my friend I enjoy Loggins and especially with McDonald. I went to hear him inconcert once. Thanks again for these videos ❤
"I'm Alright" is my favorite of his, and not just because of Caddyshack.
Whatever you do,,, it'll be a positive for the Human experience. 👍👍👍💥🤪
@@LordEagle Wow, that is quite a compliment. Thank you so much.

Watching younger people learning and enjoying the music we grew up on is a wonderful sight.
For those that don't know, Joe Montana Played this on repeat when the 49ers beat the Bengals in the Superbowl.
Which time? The Bengals lost both their Super Bowl trips to Joey and the Niners…. Less than a touchdown each time.
I've never heard this song before. I think I'm pregnant now.
🤣🤣🤣 OMG this made me belly giggle. THANK YOU.

Loggins & Messina was a great duo back in the day …. This song, singing along with Michael MacDonald !!! Can’t get much better than this …..
Momma: (from Pink Floyd/Gig in the Sky) "On to the next one."

Now and Then
Kenny is the hit maker of the 70s and 80s . 1st. With jim Messina ,then his solo career, had a pinch of movie soundtrack songs as well......
Fun Fact: Background vocals by Michael McDonald 😊
Michael McDonald played on 48% of all music recorded between 1979 and 1987. (Source: it's the internet, and lying isn't permitted)
thank you Momma:)
For those who don't know Kenny wrote this song when his dad was going through a rough rime. I believe he wrote it to tell his dad not to give up.
Yooo the behind the scenes was insane, the dedication and work is incredible 👏👏

I love anything with Michael McDonald singing. The man has such a distinct voice.
I appreciate the work you put in on these compilations, WM.

Omg how I 🩷 Hector's reaction:
"Oh noooo, it fell on againnnn..."

Michael McDonald was to 70s and 80s music what finding an onion ring in your fries is like.

Totally adding this song to my “happy” playlist. Thanks for another brilliant compilation WMOG! ❤
That acoustic version is GORGEOUS. Sounds like Mike and Kenny at The Redwoods in Santa Cruz.

For any HipHop heads, you can hear the Nas sample that was used in the intro.
I think people are shocked that “You’re Momma Don’t Dance” also came from this man along with his partner Messina.
Dude... I know that song pretty well... but I can't wait to deep dive the Messina days. 🥰

OK. This is a different compilation. These two guys had a lot of success in the 80s.
You "kid" have about 40 yrs, to catch up on the music we heard growing up in the 70's. Enjoy!
Nah, I was there too. lol Born in 1972. Started really listening to music around 6-7 years old but my mom played it all the time before that.
Must be something happening to me in 2025: just letting this beautiful song wash over me like a first sampling! Enjoy!
