Anyone here having this issue with binding in defender 25? I have done activing and upgrading, the bind buttom doesn't work. There is no red light, no blinking red light, even if i hold the bind button nothing happens? Air unit powered through battery while binding. Please help :( The latest firmware V01.02.0000.
Nvm I fixed because The O3 unit wasn’t on. There should be a green led right that turns red, I had to connect to Betaflight and go to modes, scroll down to the bottom and find the User 1 & user2 and add a range.
Same here, I've been looking at the Avata for months now. It didn't take long to realize that it's not really a respected FPV drone. Plenty of people make them fall out of the sky trying to do basic freestyle maneuvers or hard turns. I can buy this package with three batteries for $300 cheaper and not have a fear of outgrowing the Avata in a few months of learning. I already own a Mini 4 pro, so I'm pretty sure I could also bind the goggles to use with that as well which might be fun too.
I love your thorough explanation on how to start from scratch on this drone. It really helps me through the whole process when I'll get mine. Safe flights and have fun! Cheers from Montreal!
Do the standard DJI ND filters fit on that camera (it know it’s the same - but sometimes the way it is mounted does not leave space for the filters). Thanks for your review 🤙
Hey mate very interesting drone i have the dji fpv goggles and controller but does the GPS work like the dji fpv where you cant fly in authorsation zones ? thanks mate
quick question mate, if i purchase a crossfire version will i still be able to use the DJI controller or would it strictly be crossfire compatible, reason being on the site it says "No additional receiver, I use DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 " so it makes it seem like nothing extra is required
This is a good question, the o3 is wired in so it will work with the DJI controller but you will need to change some settings in the ports and the reciever tab of betaflight and follow instructions to setup the DJI remote with the o3.
@@andykirby ahh that is quite interesting, Cheers mate I appreciate your time, that would make a great video for the channel if you would make one on the matter. I have yet to see any on the topic, considering all the Bugs and issues surrounding the 03 and DJI controller 2 , I think i will purchase a crossfire version even though i do not own a crossfire radio at the moment but after the tango2 pro re stocks it will likely be the new daily driver!
You can use the DJI controller because the 04 air unit has a built in receiver. To use crossfire, you have to add a receiver to the air unit.....it's easy, but necessary to use any other radio controller
Thanks for the great review! Speaking as a long time DJI pilot, I'm wondering if it has the same RTH functions that I rely on, low battery and lost connection failsafes that are so nice with DJI, both FPV and camera drones. Also, I wonder if you can also use the DJI goggles V2?
Did you figure out how to map the channels? I am trying to figure that out as well. Specifically, I am trying to figure out how to map the camera button.

Lets say at %20 throttle my drone moving to the left not or backwards and i checked drone calibrate also remote controller.. so it is not stable it must be relate with betaflight settings but can't figure out , how can i fix this do u have any idea about this? Thanks for ur answer from now!
I'm reading specs on the IFlight website. It has Ascent and decent speeds for normal and sport mode as well as manual mode? Does this have a traditional normal and sport mode as well? Or is this strictly a manual mode only flyer?
i was expecting this to be a lot cheaper than the Avata , wow £494 that's harsh , for the same money i think the Avata is the better option for close proximity fun flying , Then 5' for freestyle or anything else, Yep it is a nice little bind and fly but way overpriced , Interested did you buy it or get it for review
Yesterday my Defender 20 with 900mhz ELRS came back from repair with a functional 900mhz ELRS. The last one did not work. It will bind and fly. However, the camera is not mapped to the Commando 8 controller. Is there a resource or UA-cam film you guys could point me to that outlines how to map the Commando 8 camera buttons to the DJI camera that is on board my Defender 20? Thanks, ~ B
Great video! Planning to get back into fpv after a few years away from it. I've already got my DJI fpv controller 2. If I was to order one of these with the crossfire unit is it easy to switch between transmitters if i decide to buy a crossfire transmitter later? Thanks!
Kindly inform me whether the Home point is visible during Goggles flight. Given the absence of GPS, it remains uncertain if this feature is accessible. Additionally, could you confirm the accuracy of the information stating that it cannot operate beyond a distance of 200 meters?
I just got one, gps is now installed on all 25's after May this year. I haven't set it up yet, im not sure if you will get a visible home marker or not.
Did you do the steps in Betaflight? If you changed anything in the modes tab you might have removed the aux channel that power up the O3. Check if the power light is on the o3.

I just checked AMAZON, and they list a comparable TATTU 850 mah 4s for $22.44 (USD) [I have many of these in my LiPo collection; price check 21JAN22], and it weighs 99g according to the scale on my desk. I agree weight makes a difference - but, I am uncertain that 1gram of battery weight is worth arguing one way or the other.....and as I did not include the weight of a battery strap (or TPU holder) with the alternate battery, I am uncertain there would be any weight savings. [Full disclosure - I did not check the weight of the 450 mah batteries - so, I am willing to concede the weight discussion.] Thank you for your review -- well done.

Flying Avata is a roll of dice, too many bugs, will look into IFlight. Wonder how is the indoor flying?
It's brilliant indoors. So stable.
You ever notice A LOT of people laugh when they crash and smash shit lol... I did the same thing when I crashed my drone. Totally cried later on XD
It doesn't move as smoothly as the Avata because of its sensors... there will be constant height jumps in the room.
Looks like a pain I’m the bum to set up, avata is a much more complete package for beginners in my book.

Good luck finding a whoop that will do everything the Avata does for the price…

How can be better than Avata without GPS? You can only fly in the garden.
GPS is not essential, most FPV drones don't have GPS. 😊
Ufff
Cool
Mr Steel go home 😂
6min of flight time is a joke.
so is the cost.
$50 OK but not $500
Not for high performance fpv, we often get 4 mins of hooning!
Battery too small, only can fly around 6 minutes
6 mins is plenty if you want it light enough to do some freestyle with it. You can put a 900 on it and have 8-9mins if you want to do long range.
$540 ouch 🤕
$539! The Avata is of better value.
And building your own is even better value 😁
can we please not start using proprietary batteries?!
Yeah I feel the same, at least you can just plug any battery into it using the XT30, I'm figuring a way to fit a normal battery strap.
