100% agree on the Goggles 2. "What were they thinking" keeps floating around in my head. Foam insert help a bit if I cut the nose bridge out of the foam itself.
hey Nick, thanks for review, never miss even if not planning on a drone haha. you also mention your new whoop build, would be interesting to see a video on that too
Fantastic flying and review, Nick! 😃 Pretty interesting quad indeed! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊 BTW, about the DJI O3 system... Goggles without defogging fan would never work here in Brazil. And the weight... No 1s board, or even a single board VTX... I can just hope HDZero and Walksnail gets better and better and kick DJI's you know what.
I have the Goggles V2....I was going to pull the trigger on the Goggles 2, but from everything I am hearing about the fit, I am holding off for the next version and reviews.
I picked up several aftermarket foams to put on the v2 witch helped greatly, still not as comfy as other goggles but far better than stock. I don't know for sure which foam I ended up using but I know its not from DJI, I believe I purchased it from pyrodrone.com and then modified the nose section for my fit.
You can, but you will get a 810p/100fps image with the v2 goggles, while the goggles 2 provides a 1080p/100fps image, so there is a difference but it’s ultimately up to personal preference.
@@NickBurnsFPV you shoud try using v2 goggles less resolution but higher refreshrate. 144hz 810p for v2 and 1080p 100hz in goggles 2. Mrsteel made video about 144 over 100hz for o3(v2 vs 2 goggles

How much of a pain in the you-know-what is it to take apart and repair? If you break the plastic guards in a crash, how much do you have to take apart?
It took longer to get into the O3 unit and get to that broken button than it did to separate the prop protection from the carbon frame. The tricky part is getting all the connectors apart and back together. Its a process with needle nose or tweezers.
Hi Nick, Great video and review of the Iflight Defender 25. WoW, I love those Google 2. The picture is incredible, but I'm still and always Analog. You could put the Analog section of the giveaway ? But I would pass, I have the Racewhoop 30, you reviewed. The downside is the prop noise. The only quad I flown that got a complaint. And the Defender is just as loud. That's why I fly micros. The last thing is the battery. I know why they did it, but I would prefer my own, that might not fit. Thanks again for the video and information about this quad.
@Nick Burns thanks, thinking about a custom build (cause in FPV we like our lives to be difficult). I think the 1504 motors are the key. But yes, iflight has been killing it and carving out a premium, (you really don't have to tinker, truly) great flying quality market segment.
@@NickBurnsFPV the aftermarket foam one from RDQ that comes with lens protector fits perfectly although I still have issues when looking at corners so made the screen area to 90 percent and it is okay now
I've seen a few review of this quiad but been waiting for yours. Nice review as always. It's too bad the goggle 2 doesn't fit you well. They're my favourite by far but I have an Asian face which tends to fit goggle.
I need to get that aftermarket foam on them. DJI seems to be the only company making fpv goggles that doesn't include secondary face plates. I guess the good thing is that does leave a business opportunity for another company to make face plates for DJI goggles. Finger crossed...maybe.
It blows my mind why designers can not but the dam link button in a recessed hole/cutout flush to external case, run a small set of wires if they have to from Controller/PCB to switch. I could not even see this dam link button. I just went in with a toothpick gently and felt for the button. Folks I suggest keeping a few toothpicks (non conductive) around for binding quads. Great review as always!. iflight I hope you are watching, make the fuk$%*& link button accessible in future design!
I suspect if I didn't make videos I might be more analog only. I like HD, but I am not certain the expenses of weight and $$ vs image quality would push me more towards HD.
I owned the Avata - sold it and bought the Defender 25. I just can't get on with the DJI rubbish controller and much prefer my TX16s. I love the Defender25.
I did the same thing. Bought the Avata, went to my backyard to try and take off, nope restricted zone I could not even take off. I am 3 miles away from Long Beach airport (California) Sent back to DJI for refund and bought Defender 25.
I wanted an Avata too, but it doesn't maneuver as well. Avata would feel fine as a first time pilot, but once you start getting good you'll outgrow it. The Avata also doesn't come with a controller. The package is with that ridiculous Nintendo Wii stick and you have to pay another $200 for a DJI controller that you can't trust to work with other quads.
Yeah this didn't age well. I sold my Avata due to its being locked to normal and sports mode when in an area that requires authorization making it a shitty 1 axis camera that hovers at an an angle in the wind. I'm just flying my sub250s from here on out. Fuck all the regulations coming down. @@brandon9689
You must be from the same school of thought as my lovely wife. If the button doesn't work. Smash it harder. I have had to replace a TV remote that she broke the buttons off. I think I might solder on a momentary switch or an externally accessible jumper wire

I just went to my friendly cosmetic surgeon and got a small groove placed in the bridge of my nose. Saves money on new foam.

The image quality is better and in my environment the signal degradation seems to be less, but this is a very small sample.

25:36 anti stick pads for the battery.
Thanks Nick thoughts on flight experience vs cineape?
This is just as smooth, but a little less punchy, but the cineape doesn't have an O3 option. So that isn't much of a decision point.

hi Nick, do you have any issues with the goggles 2 nose fitment? and also the issue related to not able to see the edges of the display properly

So true. Picture quality is great to have. A lot of hype around the hd options. Options are great. My allowance keeps me at analog lol.
