      @@christopherp.hitchens3902becaudr when someone mentions JFK, people will immediately look to his assassination or presidency rather than simply seeing him as a human being. Just like the Twin Towers, when someone brings up the OG WTC, they think of 9/11 and it's destruction, not as two beautiful buildings that represented downtown Manhattan and has stolen the spotlight in numerous pictures

      JFK cheated on "JACKIE" more times than he spent days in office. His old man, Joe "The Bootlegger" Kennedy, wanted "Jackie" to marry "Jackass" because he knew her youth and beauty would help "Jackass" win the election. JFK was probably smiling because he was just with another woman the night before!! And let's not forget about the Kennedy involvement with "MARILYN MONROE's " death. Both "Jackass" and his brother were narcissists who thought they could do whatever they wanted. Look where that attitude got them - DEAD!!

I can think of only one format where Technicolor and Kodachrome competed directly: 16mm motion picture filmstock. I think it would be interesting to see one of the vintage photography experts on youtube do a retro-comparison of 16mm in the two now-defunct formats. 16mm was often used for educational films and corporate films. I think it would be interesting to know what factors a professional cinematographer might have considered when choosing between Technicolor or Kodachrome for a 16mm project back in the day.

    MINOR CORRECTION, from a Semi - Professional, Photographer. If the Film, is in the Blue can, and on the Reel, it IS Already Developed !
    If it was NOT, THEN , It would have been Over-Exposed, and Ruined !
    If the unexposed film was 8mm, it would have been on a black, plastic reel, And would have to be loaded into the camera, in a Darkroom, or a Changing Bag, and Super-8, would have just been: Open the camera, snap in the Cartridge, close camera, and begin filming.

      Both Super 8mm and Regular 8mm came back from the labs on 50' reels. This blue 200-300' reel indicates that someone in the family edited together a few of those 50' rolls. You are correct about the developing. Unprocessed film loses its color if not photo-chemically developed in a lab. Also, no one develops Kodachrome anymore. That sadly ceased a few years ago.

    8mm camera, since 1959, I usually filmed most important events, but left it home that day, because I was marching

Hospital in Dallas was that it didn't have a white interior where the one on the film here does so I guess they had more than one Lincoln. I imagine too they were specially made for the President. It's also strange how LBJ had the Lincoln immediately sent to be restored and ruined the evidence of a crime scene where they could have shown it wasn't the "single bullet theory" among all the other coverup stunts they pulled.

    They'll be able to stabilize the moving image, removing the jerkiness of his non-professional hand-held work. They've done that w/ the Zapruder film and you can study it much-better thereafter...

    Any information on where that footage was shot?? I’m a Cape Cod native and was born in Hyannis in 1992 and lived 28 of my 32 years there. I also take great pride in hailing from the same town the Kennedy’s loved so dearly.

    Remarkably good quality even after 60 years, thanks, likely to the wonderful but now discontinued Kodachrome film commonly used back then.
    I used to shoot a lot of slide film and the only the Kodachromes have retained most of the original quality of the images.

    Excellent color film snippet done of JFK & Jackie at street level. Digitize, yes. Send copies to US National Archives & the JFK Library. Not the final treasure. Two more films still exist, Gates is one, Beck is the other. Need more data on those two remaining "lost" films of Nov 22, 1963. Pending still. We shall see.

    • @jbratt
      @jbratt Рік тому +1

      It was developed if it was in the canister. He probably did not have a projector to watch it. The developed film was sent in for digitization so it could be viewed. If the film were left undeveloped the color would not have survived and it also would have to be kept in complete darkness not in the storage canister shown.

      I don't know who or what was in that croud, but documented evidence has been uncovered, revealing an on-going plot at that time, to take out JFK when he was in cities like Chicago and Miami.
