Wow...I remember the great days on the "Fast Pass" so exciting to plot your strategy and "line up" all your Fast Passes through out the day!!! "Those Were The Days"
I disagree with one thing. The premier pass is for the once or twice in a lifetime visitor. Not once a year. Unless the yearly visitor has a lot of expendable income sitting around.
Agreed. We go once a year for 4-5 days and it’s nearly the same price for 4-5 day plus LL as a one day hopper plus premier pass. I’d rather slow down and enjoy myself.
definitely, I think the ideal customer for this is someone doing a once in a lifetime trip to socal, maybe they only have a week to cram in LA, beaches, desert, etc. and can only allocate one day to DL. It makes sense to pay to be able to do as much as you can, while also requiring a little less planning, and more free time to relax a little in the parks, hit blue bayou, olga's, shows, parades, etc.
Get rid of the $35 lightning lane and make it start at $150-200 with no time slots. Then sell a $400 option that is unlimited. If you go to universal barely anyone purchases it, so you actually feel like you’re getting something for your money. With the current lighting it’s oversold and you’re pretty much paying to be in a shorter line and not “a walk on line” like at universal.
Why? The cheaper lightning lane option is a really good thing, and reasonably affordable for those "once in a lifetime" (or maybe two or three times) guests who would like to be able to afford the more expensive option...
I am the guest that comes 1x a year, stays in a hotel, spends 3+ days in the parks. I save up for this trip every year and take my family. For my family of 5, it already costs ~3k just for room/passes. Excluding travel, shuttle, food, souvenirs, etc. I splurge on LL and park hoppers every time. But that’s where it ends. As someone who fits this exact demographic you describe, I have to disagree. It’s my opinion that this is a VIP experience for wealthy guests who don’t want a plaid service, and as a way to make LL look like a relative bargain.
I’m in the same boat as you, family of 5, save up and willing to splurge on deluxe accommodations, LL & park hopper, but this is just too much for one single day.
I absolutely agree. We are a family of 4 in WA state and go once every 2 years or so. There’s no way I’m adding on an additional $1600 to an already VERY expensive trip.
My opinion: this is just all part of the slow deterioration of Disneyland. It all started with the change of the original fast pass. The pandemic unfortunately changed things again with the reservation system and lightning lane. For a long time I felt like the cost was worth it. I don't think I feel that anymore
We are a family that drives 8 hours to visit Disneyland every 2-3 years. On our most recent visits, we spent 4 days in the parks. Even at the busiest times of year (the week before Christmas and spring break), we are able to ride every ride without lightning lane by utilizing the tips from Fresh Baked and others. We rarely wait more than 30 minutes for a ride. I would rather spend more time in the parks than run around frantically trying to justify the expense of the LLPP. Disney is much more than rides…soaking up the music and appreciating the history and attention to detail are why we love the parks so much. I don’t believe the average family that comes to the park would even consider purchasing this service. It’s definitely not a necessity and I really don’t think enough people would purchase it to affect the wait times. We will continue to visit the parks, staying in good neighbor hotels, bringing our water bottles and snacks, and carefully budgeting our meals…and having a great time!!
People closer to the West Coast should jump on a plane and go to Tokyo Disney. So much better and probably about the same price (total) than going to Disneyland with this pass option.
have to agree that everyone else is not going to pay the $400 per day to go disney and this is not a good idea because everyone else really like free fast pass and they are getting worst right now , this is for the rich people
An average family of four from out of state cannot afford to drop an extra $1,200-$1,600 per day on top of their actual ticket price, food, hotel, and airfare costs. This is for the wealthy single individuals or couples whose time is more valuable to them than pretty much anything else.
From someone who comes from out of town, I’m getting to the point that I don’t want to buy the Multi Pass anymore. My last trip was in June. I’m not even kidding you, we got the Multi Pass and we spent 4 hours not riding anything because we would go to the attraction we had a Lightning Lane for and it would break down. We were controlled by the app on where we were spending the day. My kids were getting upset because we hadn’t rode anything for 4 hours. I would have rather spent the time riding the rides without Lightning Lane. This experience has really made me reconsider buying Lightning Lane.
David, it’s pretty easy to see what’s going on here. They’re starting to tear the skip the line system in two different tears. You do see that this is limited to one use per ride. I don’t put it past Disney to later offer an unlimited option at $1000, what’s the stop Disney then from upping the price of the bottom tier basic lightning lane to say 100 bucks. all this is doing is hiding the fact that Disney is slowly re-implementing a re-engineered ticket book
No one will pay that much. That is why they kept multipass at 32.00. This is an add on option. If they made bottom price at 100.00 hardly anyone would buy it and they would make less money. They obviously will raise prices as time goes on, but they want every one to spend extra, not just the rich people.
@@luvadventuresandart I guarantee that they will raise it as much as they can as fast as they can until it is too late. The current management is caught in a death spiral.
The convenience comes with not having to book a return time, that alone makes it worth it for just being able to be more casual in your visit, especially for out-of-towners like me who only visit once a year
I hate classism. What I loved about the original FP is that everyone was equal and had a chance to use a fast pass. If they want to relieve the appointments of Tours, limit them OR increase those prices to an insane amount. We'll see how this goes but I am so turned off by Disney right now. How do you think the PP will affect MLL & SLL? Lower quantity? Lower booking opportinities?
I see this as pricing families out because this clearly doesn't help stand by. Have you been in a 90 minute stand by with kids? Yes, MLL is still available...but how will it affect that queue & value? When will standby be cut a break. The silver lining, if I leave Disney maybe I can finally go afford an international trip. Lol. Sigh.
This is NOT classism... that would imply that disney is a right everyone should be afforded and not a privilege you pay for, the mere existence of a Ferrari doesn't it classist just becuase you can't afford it. That's not what classism means
@@slowazzd2165 defined "a belief that a person's social or economic station in society determines their value in that society" - This does determine a person's value because low SES people that can barely scrape money to go to the park aren't valued enough to have the same TIMELY access as people of higher SES. Timely access is a right of everyone that paid to enjoy the park.
The video I have been waiting for since I saw your Instagram post, I am shocked! No flipping way, I drink most of the Disney Kool-Aid, but I draw the line!
Get rid of the Single and Multi-Pass, and only have the Premier Pass. It is the lower, a la carte option that is clogging the standby lines. The E-Ticket existed for a reason when Disneyland opened. The premium attractions warranted a higher price tag.
Bless you for trying to make sense of a bad, cash grabbing idea. Disney is in auto-destruct mode, and we the customers must raise our voice and not simply say "oh it is an option", knowing the ripple effect it brings.
Hey David, thanks (as always!) for your thoughtful assessment and presentation. One advantage of LLPP that I'm not sure was explicitly mentioned is the ability to SEE the standby line before deciding to use the one-time LL privilege (as opposed to reserving hours ahead by app and being assigned a time). Savvy park-goers might see a GO standby line and opt to save their LLPP to ride again when standby is longer. Maybe this would slightly affect standby wait times? Though, the targeted audience for LLPP is probably not an experienced park-goers 😊
It used to be cheap enough that we would go for five days straight with our kids that’s before lightning Lane and all this crap so it was something that was normal. Disney is all about the money now as wrecked it for many many people. Walt would be super super sad.
This pass will help my family on our trip. We never liked having to plan hours a head and so much walking back and forth when the time comes up for your lightning lane. We are the type that like to start in one area and just work our way around just like we do at universal. This pass is so worth it for us it will relieve some chaos from our trip and make it much more enjoyable.
My family goes to Disneyland once a year for a week (5 days in the park). The $32 Lightning Lane option works great and most times we can use all 11 rides. I just can't see myself springing for $300-$400 per person for nearly the same value I get from the standard version. I'm interested is seeing how this develops, Dave.
...and don't forget that's per person, PER DAY!!!...so that's up to $2,000 per person for your trip. There are four of us, so that would be $8,000 total to skip a few lines - YIKES!!!! We are sticking to the $32 option also.
Nobody talks about this, but the 2 hour cool down is a huge part as to why the lines are actually worse. During max pass days it was a 1 hour cool down, which meant spreading people out more instead of large masses of people all showing up at the same time
No, I used to keep those fast passes actually I still do but I’ve had them since the max past day and before and it was a two hour wait between fast passes.
I know my budget and I know I will never be a Club 33 member, I will never be a DVC owner, I will never have a VIP Tour. Add this to the list of things I will never afford and that is okay. It is an option for those that can afford it. I am not sure why there is such shock about this optional service. Use it or don’t, the end.
Hi David! When you do the LL MultiPass video, please consider to choose a busy day if possible. When we are there on the D23 week, it was waaay too busy and we only used 1/3 of what was offered. LL MultiPass is great for slower-slightly busy days but not worth it on super busy days in my opinion. Thanks for your coverage as always :)
As an out of state guest that goes once a year i wouldn't purchase this. I'll stick to the regular lighting lane pass. But I've never been to disneyworld but I could see myself using it because the trip is already so expensive I don't think I'd mind the extra cost. Keep in mind I'm only traveling with my fiance and do not have children so it's a little more doable.
@@freshbakedpresents cannot wait to see that video! David, are you still hopefully the train may be operating by the end of the month? Hoping that the testing that was seen yesterday is a good sign. Really miss the train!! 🚂 🚂
Completely agree. This is a great point. My son & I went in August 2023 and it was a slow week so our LL went far! We did every ride as virtual walk ons. We went this year in August and the parks were slammed. We were seeing return times hours out and found ourselves looking for alternative entertainment and activities in between. LL is not a bargain on busy days!
The difference in value between normal lightning lane and this new pass is minimal, but the price difference is astronomical. The return time is not a 370 dollar per person per day inconvenience. Even if it let me go to the front of every line all day as many times as I want, 400 is still diabolical.
While I’m not disagreeing, it’s not just removing the return window, it’s also removing the cooldown period which is a pretty big barrier. You could literally just do the entire park in order with this pass
Its up to the indivudual to decide. Dont like it? Dont buy it. I have a base level Honda that works well for me. I dont get mad that they sell upgraded trims for tens of thousands more.
I don’t care at all that Disney would decide to sell a pass like this, I am just shocked at the price of it where it doesn’t seem like there is that much added value.
@@je5406Ah, but Disney is suppose to be where you leave real world problems behind. Classism should stay in the real world...not follow you to your sanctuary.
This wouldn't be too bad if the LL was unlimited but just 1-time per ride doesn't seem worth it at all. I love how you explain the value of it and then start to laugh!!! Too funny!
Your reasoning about the value of this Premier Pass for vacationers staying at the Disney hotels makes sense. I feel for out of town families and their pressure to make the most of limited vacation time. IMHO the elephant in the room, when it comes to Disney crowding and long wait times, is the annual pass. (I say this as a sometimes local pass holder, so I’m part of the problem.) Before the annual pass in any form, Disney had long down seasons with walk on rides. It was a big deal when Disney began offering sale packages to locals. People who complain about classism for the lightning lane may be forgetting about their own privilege if they are annual pass holders, especially locals.
There's no excuse for it and Disney keeps getting away with it because there are people that are gonna try and do all they can to justify it. There is no excuse, inflation isn't an excuse, capacity isn't an excuse, how it compares to other systems isn't an excuse, needing to pay the 200+ companies they own isn't an excuse. There is absolutely 0 excuse for this but people will genuinely try to justify it and those people are why Disney keeps pushing it, they're gonna milk those people for all they got and won't stop even when they have nothing left because they will keep coming back. There's no end until that group that justifies everything finally puts their foot down and says no
It's the company's own fault because of DEI and their dive into politics I believe. They've lost millions of dollars because of this and are trying to make that money back.
Definitely out of my price range. One thing about doing the VIP tour (I've never done one) that I don't see people factoring in is that it's customary to tip your tour guide 20% of the cost, so that increases the total cost of the VIP tour.
Every time I see these price increases I get so frustrated knowing none of it is going to pay the people working there. I’m not trying to be that person but my last Disney trip kinda sucked bc every worker was lethargic and depressed. Pay these people enough to smile ffs 🤦🏻♀️
Coming from Australia, when Disneyland is literally a once in a lifetime trip, doing this for a day is less outrageous. Especially since it includes Rise and Radiator springs.
Finally someone gets it. You are the target demographic. Disney is selling the guarantee that you can do everything in one day, which means shorter stay less Hotel Revenue and less dining Revenue.
Yeah but that’s $1600 for a family of 4. I know they have to make it exclusive but $400 is a bit outrageous. That’s 1/2 of the magic key tier I have my eyes on.
It's a lot of passholders and people that go to Disney a few times a year that are complaining and don't understand there are people who rarely get to go or only go once, that this program helps you get everything from your trip. I've been to Tokyo Disney and Disney Paris ONCE in my life, and will probably not have the opportunity to go to either again. I made sure I spent enough time at each to get the best experience possible. If I could have bought a super duper fast pass, I would have.
What's not being said: The longer line experience for those that can not afford any lighting lane experience. It is so frustrating to watch others "cutting in line" ahead of you and your family, and your kids keep asking why they can't go into that faster line. I'm giving up, this is the last straw, I'm going to let the rich fight it out and take my family to the beach and other worthwhile vacations. Thank you Fresh Baked for all the wonderful information through the years.
I am from Belgium and believe me, I will NOT spend this much money. They forget that we have flights to pay for, hotels, transportation...etc Disney is indeed for rich people. Just a thought, if people will spend less days in the park, will this not reflect in hotel reservations where people will only spend like two nights instead of four?
I feel like a lot of these commenters did not watch the video... so many people lacking common sense? The important thing people are not realizing is that this is not replacing lightning lane multi pass... If you, a company exec, were told "hey man, theres this easy way we can make hundreds of thousands of extra dollars per day, and we basically won't even have to do anything!" Would you really say no? Because of what, integrity? Get a grip on reality people.
This is another reason why they destroyed DAS, and why they banned 3rd party tour guides. And Universal's deluxe hotel guests in Orlando get their express passes complimentary
16:30 It blows my mind how expensive these Disneyland property hotels are. It also blows my mind that so many people are upset about how expensive this halo tier Lightning Lane product is, but never say anything, and even defend $800 a night for the Grand California.
I dont know how they can justify that much of a price increase for what you are getting. Its just insane. This pass will literally only be for rich families who have the ability to throw money around.
Its not a price increase? Do you morons actually think this is a price increase for lightning lane and not a totally separate service? Also there's a like 8 thousand dollar tour at disneyland and at 15 thousand dollar meal, and i literally never see anyone whining about that because the whole point is that it's expensive and limited to the few who are willing to pay it
Incorrect. This is not for the ultra wealthy. This product is for once in a lifetime vacationers. Disney is selling the ability, the guarantee to do everything in one day. Disney hotels are expensive, and wait times are long, and sometimes it's really hard to ride the best attractions. For $400 I now have the guarantee that I will do everything in a single day, which saves me money on Park tickets hotel stays and food
Interested in seeing how this plays out and I know I’ll get all the info here! Honestly, I’m just tired of Disney being so stressful. I miss the good ole days when you went to the park and just casually walked around and waited in a line. No phones, no reservations, just enjoyed the park.
I paid $180 for premiere pass in Paris and loved it - because it was the only game in town and we only had 1 day to see everything. But in CA, if you are halfway decent at managing your Genie Plus, you don't need to pay more. Just stay on top of the app! Go home at lunch and stack your lightning lanes while you are having a rest. Its just not that hard that I would ever spend $400 just to walk up to whatever ride I wanted to go on. Maybe for someone who doesn't understand how LL works - I guess? But there are tons of videos that explain the tips and tricks of using LL. Just pay for the $30 for regular Genie Plus (or whatever its called now). And you still get the photos!
We live out of town and used to be annual pass holders. We will NOT be using this new service. Keep in mind MANY people who have to pay for airlines tickets, hotels and ground transportation are not necessarily rich. Many have to save up for it, and unfortunately, many have to take out loans. To "lean into" these people is rather despicable. I think it's safe to call it what many other people have already called it, a cash-grab, plain, and simple.
This will affect no one. So few will buy this that it won’t affect anyone’s experience except those who pony up for it. That said, I wish they’d just adopt Universal’s system.
Hi Dave! Thanks for this informative video. Just a heads up, I got my Magic Keys renewal notice today and the fine print indicated "25% savings on the purchase of Lighting Lane Multi-Pass." I saw no mention of 40% savings on LL Multi-pass. Maybe that will be announce later?
I'll be in the park next Wednesday, David. I hope to catch you at some point. This may be my last time as well. I love almost all things Disney; the first time I visited the park was when I was pretty young. It was way back when they had the original flying saucer ride in Tomorrow Land. I worked there during the bicentennial on the rafts and the keelboats. I had annual passes for over ten years until COVID-19. It has just deteriorated to the point of diminishing value. There's far less entertainment than in the past. The upkeep in the park is far worse than ever; the employees need to be paid better, and, at times, they look entirely unkempt. There was a vision, Walt's, that had been maintained more or less until Roy passed away, and now it's completely gone. Walt never wanted Disneyland to look like the carnival that came to town once a year, but it's starting to seem that way, of course, on a grand, expensive scale. TL:DR It's too expensive, and the quality is gone.
17:36 I ask myself this question of Dave. In my opinion The more often you go the less magical. It becomes the norm. The less you attend the more magical. Too much of anything is not good. We are waiting to visit until all of the construction is complete. Maybe 2029/30? Can’t wait to see animatronic Walt Disney. Patiently waiting.
A little research into universal garnered the following. Their top single day ticket is $154. When you add express that takes it to $309 or $319 depending on the day. Do you remember when you could just show up and buy a ticket at the booth and get in line at whatever you wanted and not spend all day on your stupid phone!?
17:53 you can only go to Disneyland every 3+ years, and you can only go during very busy times. The chances of you not being able to do everything increases. We went during spring break of 2023, for 3 days. The park was so packed that we weren't able to do everything, especially at California Adventure. Weren't able to ride RSR or Incredicoaster, or Soarin. Having that fourth or fifth day would of made for a less stressful trip and given us time to just sit a relax and enjoy the ambiance. The earliest we could go to Disneyland again, maybe, is another year. But if they keep increasing the price, probably more.
It's the same situation for me. Going to Disney is every 3rd year. So 5 day tickets are a must. We hit all the rides, repeat our favorites and go to all the shows.
Hi David, thank you so much for all you do and keeping us in the loop. I’d be really curious with the park science on how this would affect the flow of the park for vibe checks and queues for all types of guests. As a local keyholder I’ve been trying to figure out best days to go and the calendar you provided is helpful. I will not be using this premier service, nor am I the demographic for it. The premier lightning lane flowing into the same queue as regular lightning lane would be interesting to see how it affects standby and to see if this premium lightning lane pass will be used more on value Green Day’s or the highest ticket price days to maximize minimal guests in the parks. Thank you for your work and guidance on trying to read the ebb and flows of the parks to maximize the experience!
We have a Disneyland trip planned in a couple weeks, and that's it for me. I'm not going anymore. Disney parks are just for Local Annual pass holders. The Parks are just way to crowded all the time, all year long. As an out of town person, I just don't find the parks enjoyable anymore.
I really appreciate this breakdown because it makes so much more sense. I also love the optimism maintained here at Fresh Baked. That being said I'm not happy that Disney is not making it any easier to understand with the 2 Lightning Lanes, Genie+ and lack of spontaneity. I still feel like they are focused more on the higher profit customer than overall guest experience and that's a bummer.
David has to stay positive or his patrons won't support him anymore and he'll have to get a real job again instead on getting to be at the park on everyone else's dime.
I think the biggest issue is they are keeping the old methods while adding more onto it. It's going to slow down the lanes even more, all of them. People in Lightening lane will have more people join then, and without scheduled times they can show up at any point. For the people actually paying for the Premier pass your going to be paying up to $400 and possibly still wait in line, as in the past Lightening lanes had a 30 minute or longer wait as rides broke down and the like. So I have a feeling the people who pay those rates are going to leave unhappy as they don't really skip anything.
It's lightning lane without an appointment. Not enough going on at disney to purchase, and I'm a genie+ buying ap holder, I don't wait for more than 22min lol. BUT, I'd suggest to get this rather than a vip tour (which is TRASH) I've done disney and universal . Disney vip is premier with a human, nothing more, not even a free churro for $5000 (tickets not included). Disney Paris does premier best! Use David's tips, rope drop, get genie+ (or whatever it's called now lol) and you'll be fine.
Great way to explain this premier pass, David! It feels like many MK holders are upset with this and then with the recent price hikes they don’t have any reason to renew. Personally, I will gladly renew my pass and the Premier pass isn’t for me nor did I bat an eye at the idea of obtaining it. I wonder if this is Disney’s way to crowd control?
Agree. The Inspire Key is still a whopping bargain! And yes, Disney will keep having to figure out ways to mitigate the crowding at the 'compact', Disneyland! That is one reason that reservations are here to stay. On any given day 80,000 people could show up! I've been there in "Sardine Can" conditions!. Not suggested! It is to Disney's considerable credit that they endeavor to minimize "sardine can" conditions!
@@michaelsullivan3581 oh absolutely! It makes it much harder to maneuver when you’re in a wheelchair PLUS having people who feel entitled getting upset because they can’t do what they want when they want.
Wow! This episode of “Fresh Baked Presents” must have set a record for commercial interruptions. Perhaps it’s time for a “Lightning Lane Premier Pass” for watching “Fresh Baked Presents”.
I just don't understand how they can charge that much and not allow you to use it on EVERY ride! Leaving two big attractions out and making you pay extra is just unreal!
I actually disagree on Stand-By 40 years ago. Back then you had the 'ticket' system, which meant, if you wanted to go on Space Mountain verus Small World, you have to pony up the funds and by a more expensive ticket book. So in essence, the only way you could standby is if you had a ticket for the ride, thus limiting the number of people who could or would ride a premier attraction.
Because some of the LL lines are just so long, Is it possible that to get those lines down, they might change the number of reservations per hour available?
Question: I have heard, but not confirmed, that some people weren't able to get a LL pass for an attraction that said they were available at that moment. The app wouldn't allow them to get it. Remember how with FP if there were tickets in the machine at that time or within 5 minutes you could walk up, get one, and immediately walk into the FP line? Apparently the LL app won't let you do that. Has anyone else run into this or maybe you could try it.
The way I see it, it can work out for as a compromise for shorter stay. You can spend 2 nights in Disneyland, get a one day park hopper with the Premier Pass, or you can spend 4 nights, get a three or four day single park ticket with Multi Pass. the $400 Premier Pass comes from the extra 2 nights in Disneyland Hotel and now you can spend those 2 nights in somewhere else (maybe in Los Angeles) or cut your vacation
So on a peak day, we are looking at 206 plus the 400 plus the hopper for like 680 ish? lol. I’m curious what the percentage of total lightning lane purchases would be for the premier vs normal.
you still have to make a reservation to get into the park. great video--still watching to see your thoughts on this. 400 bucks and mx rides down during the day--not sure the value but time will tell.
@@davidmacias741Do you think he’s actually enjoying Disneyland in the traditional sense though? He is almost exclusively there keeping tabs on everything to make content for US, not just his patrons. He hardly ever gets to enjoy it privately and is constantly doing recon or observing things on video to make updates. I don’t think it’s fair at all to throw the Patrons in his face. He’s always advocating for Disneyland to be accessible to as many people as possible.
We usually go to WDW parks in the summer. The Premier Passes is a game changer there. You are correct in mentioning how the Lightning Lanes would sell out when you would need to get them by 7 however the purchase ones ( Rise, Guardians, Tron) that were 30 bucks each didn’t sell out. Another thing is it storms like crazy and the rides would stop( test track for example). This Premier Pass would help visitors chill at a restaurant or their resort and come back after the storm clears out.
Pretty much the same service as a LL anytime pass you get if an attraction breaks down. When you get one of those, you can book any LL and go immediately ride it. It'll use the LL that might be hours off in the future and give you the anytime pass right back to use again.
Not that only that their trying to compensate for the DEI and their bad political decisions they've made. Billions have been lost because of those choices.
Just want to comment that Disney actually have this “premier lighting lane” pass in their international parks like Hong Kong Disneyland or Disneyland Paris. It is not as pricey as WDW or California DL but still relatively pricey. It was very good for me to have when I visit Disneyland Paris last year as I got one day premier lighting lane pass to enjoy most of the rides at DLP and then I can relax and do whatever for the next two days of my trip. (They do not have the other LL options like us though) It is DEFINITELY for tourist coming to visit for their vacation only. And I agree with David that it will probably be more useful at WDW since most visitors at WDW are going for their once a year (or once a few years) trip. The only thing is that they do make it even harder at WDW to get this premier pass as you have to stay at the highest price range hotels (deluxe) or villa or DVC members in order to be eligible to purchase it. 😢
My family and I are out of state and we all agree that this is ridiculously expensive. We would love to stay on Disney property again (haven't stayed on property since early 2000's) but have found better value and experience staying off property. For our trip next year, we are staying off property and will be spending 3 days total and will be going the normal stand-by route and utilizing tips and tricks that we've learned over the years. I still miss the good old Fastpass system but I highly doubt that will ever come back.
@@MikeBramm Absolutely disgusting! If they really want to copy Universal, then they can make it a complimentary perk for Deluxe hotel guests - including the Grand Californian out west, similar to how Universal gives it to Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, and Royal Caribbean. But no. They can't even do that. What's next? They'll require last year's W2/1099 and vet guests based on their income bracket? Sorry. Your household made less than the $70k/yr minimum annual income requirement. Please consider Six Flags or Sea World.
While I don’t see myself using it, I can see other people using it. I sort of wonder if the ratio of LL to standby is going to change. That will be interesting to see.
Wow...I remember the great days on the "Fast Pass" so exciting to plot your strategy and "line up" all your Fast Passes through out the day!!! "Those Were The Days"
My kids and I had it down, lol. Too bad they will have to pay so much for largely the same park if they go with their kids.
The world/theme parks are too overpopulated for that nowadays
I disagree with one thing. The premier pass is for the once or twice in a lifetime visitor. Not once a year. Unless the yearly visitor has a lot of expendable income sitting around.
Agree with you completely
im a 2x a year visitor and I would never dream of spending that kind of money on a fast pass
Agreed. We go once a year for 4-5 days and it’s nearly the same price for 4-5 day plus LL as a one day hopper plus premier pass. I’d rather slow down and enjoy myself.
Also with 11 in our party the last time we went that would be a huge bill.
definitely, I think the ideal customer for this is someone doing a once in a lifetime trip to socal, maybe they only have a week to cram in LA, beaches, desert, etc. and can only allocate one day to DL.
That change would probably stop me from ever getting back to Disneyland, so I hope they don't pick up on it!!
I would definitely consider if it was around $100 with no scheduling.
Totally agree
@@doctordunc - $36 is too low for the convenience to skip the line. The higher flat rate actually eases up the standby lines.
Let’s not forget about the Star Wars hotel… the rich didn’t support the idea
Why is anyone shocked they keep raising prices when people like you keep bending over and paying?
I absolutely agree. We are a family of 4 in WA state and go once every 2 years or so. There’s no way I’m adding on an additional $1600 to an already VERY expensive trip.
As a former longtime passholder, I hate every level of lighting lane and increased passholder prices. Stop punishing your loyal customers!
WDW had different state restrictions during Covid
My opinion: this is just all part of the slow deterioration of Disneyland. It all started with the change of the original fast pass. The pandemic unfortunately changed things again with the reservation system and lightning lane. For a long time I felt like the cost was worth it. I don't think I feel that anymore
💯 I miss Max Pass. I thought that was genius and the best of both worlds. I’d rather go back to the OG waiting in lines tho.
Normal people are not paying $400 per day to go to Disney on top of admission. This is for rich people.
I'm thinking this is for dumb people who are bad with money.
Its literally an optional addon?
Thats OK
have to agree that everyone else is not going to pay the $400 per day to go disney and this is not a good idea because everyone else really like free fast pass and they are getting worst right now , this is for the rich people
An average family of four from out of state cannot afford to drop an extra $1,200-$1,600 per day on top of their actual ticket price, food, hotel, and airfare costs.
I think you meant “tiers.”
Perhaps “tears” was a Freudian slip. 😭
😆
No one will pay that much. That is why they kept multipass at 32.00. This is an add on option.
If they made bottom price at 100.00 hardly anyone would buy it and they would make less money.
They obviously will raise prices as time goes on, but they want every one to spend extra, not just the rich people.
@@luvadventuresandart I guarantee that they will raise it as much as they can as fast as they can until it is too late. The current management is caught in a death spiral.
@@leonsoaps they would have taken away the muti pass already if that we true.
Theme Park Obsession pointed out that the Premier Pass people are waiting in the same line as people who paid $30 for the LL for that ride.
He also suggested that Disney will reduce the availability of LL times.
It's a joke!
The convenience comes with not having to book a return time, that alone makes it worth it for just being able to be more casual in your visit, especially for out-of-towners like me who only visit once a year
I mentioned that as well
VIP tours that pay $5k also wait in that same line. I don’t get why people are making a big deal about this
I hate classism.
Kamala voter, huh?
@@jennifermcneil8349 I'm guessing you're often wrong.
It's a niche product for the ultra rich. Doesn't even register on my give-a-shit scale in either direction.
People need to see this comment more
Exactly! It’s not even going to register to other guests. It’s the VIP tour without the VIP guide. The hysteria over this is… amusing.
WELL spotted!
Imagine spending $400 and getting stuck in lightning lane with the $30 ones
Yes that makes no sense. That’s not how it’s done overseas
And then the ride breaks down when you're a few people away from boarding.
It used to be cheap enough that we would go for five days straight with our kids that’s before lightning Lane and all this crap so it was something that was normal. Disney is all about the money now as wrecked it for many many people. Walt would be super super sad.
22:30 I agree, standby only would be awesome!
@@dpat8kids maybe with the physical passes but not when you got them on the app, it was always an hour in the app
Doing it right now and it is NOT going well lol
Great question and recommendation !
They should just name all these costly services for the people they’re intended for and call it the Executive Lane.
If they combine magic keys and lightning, they better be very smart about it. If they mess it up, it will ruin every normal guests experience.
I miss the time after COVID where there was no fast pass and no lightning lane. Just straight up standby
I thought you can only use the pass one time for the ride is what I understood
@@je5406Ah, but Disney is suppose to be where you leave real world problems behind. Classism should stay in the real
world...not follow you to your sanctuary.
I can't decide whose 30+ minute video to watch on this! I think this one will be the best.
I find it interesting how many people are thoroughly upset over something that is going to affect them in no way whatsoever. 🤷♀️
Thanks for your level headed approach . Lots of great points to consider.
I love how Disney announces this really dumb idea, then Universal announces Epic Universe the following day.
Excellent trolling on Universal’s part.
This is a DisneyLAND show. Who cares about Florida?
Epic Universe was announced YEARS AGO.
@@WindowtotheMagic I think they meant the opening date of Epic.
Yeah sorry bud but not many people watching these videos care all that much. It isn’t hurting anyone 😂
There is something so wrong with the people running this company.
As long as they buy it they’ll keep raising money and sadly people will buy it
This isn’t mandatory and it’s an option for the guest. Don’t understand why people are mad.
They're laughing to the bank. There's just too much demand from people wanting content for their social media accounts.
@@tom111869 Universal has been doing the same thing for years.
Every time I see these price increases I get so frustrated knowing none of it is going to pay the people working there. I’m not trying to be that person but my last Disney trip kinda sucked bc every worker was lethargic and depressed. Pay these people enough to smile ffs 🤦🏻♀️
Always enjoy your explanations and points of view - thank you!
22:57 I’d bet they already tested this with cast members in disguise to measure effect on time in both LL and standby lanes.
It doesn't include Rise & Radiator Springs. It'd make slightly more sense, if it did.
Yes it does include Rise and Radiar racers. Look it up
@@Makes_Me_Smile
Wise move.
@1Shawol416 why are you people even here? Just to be obnoxious assholes?
Not their newest hotel. I foresee this benefit going away in the future.
16:30 It blows my mind how expensive these Disneyland property hotels are. It also blows my mind that so many people are upset about how expensive this halo tier Lightning Lane product is, but never say anything, and even defend $800 a night for the Grand California.
They should reuse the old fast pass system and keep lightening lane premium for those who want it
I dont know how they can justify that much of a price increase for what you are getting. Its just insane. This pass will literally only be for rich families who have the ability to throw money around.
I see no issue with your last sentence. 🤷♂️
Instead of raising the cost to everyone, they are creating options to get more money out of folks who can afford it. Sounds like smart business to me!
Disney Math: If everyone buys it, we will return to waiting in line at an even higher price.
We're going to Disneyland in April and are getting Multi Pass. Looking forward to your video on it!!
there is no way to justify this level of greed. and from what i understand you are limited to how often you get on rides.
Disney Execs have completely lost their minds. Universal Executives have to be loving this, especially with Epic preparing to open.
Who cares about FL?
Your comment lacks even a scintilla of critical thinking.
@@GOUSC007some of us go to both parks and find the cheapest way to do so. I’m an east coaster and I prefer Disneyland
No one was upset about the VIP/plaid experience Disney has had for a long time. I don't see how this is so different.
wouldn't this make the LL queues seem longer? It seems they are putting quite a few into that same lane.
Exactly
We live out of town and used to be annual pass holders. We will NOT be using this new service. Keep in mind MANY people who have to pay for airlines tickets, hotels and ground transportation are not necessarily rich. Many have to save up for it, and unfortunately, many have to take out loans. To "lean into" these people is rather despicable. I think it's safe to call it what many other people have already called it, a cash-grab, plain, and simple.
This will affect no one. So few will buy this that it won’t affect anyone’s experience except those who pony up for it. That said, I wish they’d just adopt Universal’s system.
I’m an out of state guest and I visit less than once per year . I would never pay this much to skip the line
I do remember that day, because it’s today.
We’ll see but I don’t expect this to affect crowds overall.
Disney is exploiting how nostalgic and impatient some people can be..
We have a Disneyland trip planned in a couple weeks, and that's it for me. I'm not going anymore. Disney parks are just for Local Annual pass holders. The Parks are just way to crowded all the time, all year long. As an out of town person, I just don't find the parks enjoyable anymore.
Wow, they figured out a way to make Lightning Lane seem like a great value!
I believe I already mention this to you. Annual pass holder are going to have a limited amount of days you can enter the parks per year. Coming soon.
I’m doing a lightning lane test today and I definitely miss my more spontaneous visits
In six months, the newest pass will be called You probably can’t afford this Lane
Love your sweatshirt btw!
FRESHBAKED is the best DISNEYLAND!!

I just don't understand how they can charge that much and not allow you to use it on EVERY ride! Leaving two big attractions out and making you pay extra is just unreal!
Fair point. For 400 I want it all
Exactly! David can go because he uses all his patrons money! 😂
@@freshbakedpresentsagreed all rides 400$
Yeah agree-if it was all the rides I would think about it
I actually disagree on Stand-By 40 years ago.
Exactly!
Because some of the LL lines are just so long, Is it possible that to get those lines down, they might change the number of reservations per hour available?
This product is here for a select few guests, not for normal people like us. And that's ok.
My Disneyland died in the late 1990’s. Glad I got to enjoy it then and I feel sorry for the rubes who are getting bent over Iger’s barrel today.
Exactly! David can go because his patrons pay for it!
@davidmacias741 im 21 and live on my own in another country and I can afford it, maybe you're just broke
Why are you such a shit eating joyless husk
@slowazhave plenty of money just not dumb to spend it this way. Walt would agreezd2165
I LOVE UR CHANNEL I THINK DOING THINGS LIKE THIS AND DISCUSSING ON LIVE WOULD BE AWESOME
He does an hour live every Thursday evening.
This shouldn’t have any affect on standby. They would have bought regular LL for $30
$400/15 rides = $26 per ride per person. Crazy!!!! So disappointed in Disney
Thanks, you’re are go to / guru on all things Disneyland ! My wifey and I thank you !
Disney needs to find ways to compensate the cast member pay increases from that strike a couple of months back...
This might be a good comparison. The target guest. I may go to HK or Paris just once. I don’t want to miss a thing
Wow! Right when Bobby and Joshy are taking a few black eyes recently, this new system has great optics.
Wait. This is PER DAY?!?
I thought it was an annual pass add-on!!! Whoa!!
And, that doesn't even get you into the park. You have to have a regular ticket and reservation as well.
Rip off!
They are adding more and more people to LL and this is the same line DAS goes into, this doesn’t seem right 😏
