holy crap. I spent absolute ages trying to do this with the elite. then read the comments here, tried the cobretti 530 GTS and got the achievement easily on my first try. 01:05:83
Yessssssss, done it!! Use the 530gts!! Been trying for months with the gt12!! Took me 10mins with the 530gts!!
I love Split Second.
I like how detailed this video was. Shows you what to do down to the smallest detail. Pretty epic.
So that's the reason I kept getting 1:11...

I remember getting crazy to get this trophy. I later discovered that secret path myself, it took me hours. Now, since I've created a new account 8 months ago, I need to go through this once again, but at least I already know how to solve this :)
I had the same idea as you, using the faster car, but I was in doubt as it is very fragile, but I'll try that way too, thank you!

I found the Corbetti 530 to be a much easier car to do this achievement with. It has a lower top speed and lower acceleration than the Elite but its stability is superior and allows you to keep the acceleration jammed down on pretty much 99% of the track (at least imo). Acutually, the same goes for beat the team II... 530 worked better for me.

that shortcut u took after that little building blew up is completely new to me. U can still beat the time without it cuz i did.
Going to try this later. I beat the season version by 7 seconds at 1:10:00 but was 3 seconds short of the 1:07:00. I have confidence that I will beat it because I am starting to get the hang of these detonators.
Honestly this is one of the best games I've EVAR played. Trust me I have played a lot of games.

@mattphaynes I used that trick on the Airplane graveyard detonator, but it only works on that one. At least on Xbox 360
1:05:64!!!!!! SO EASY! only a couple tries!
HUGE TIP: if you get the shockwave from the "caterpillar" truck as you pass it, just ride it out and when you get to the crane, you will get no shockwave so you can head straight to the right, saving around 5 SECONDS!
Ah, that helps. Now I know how to deal with the chopper.
i never knew there was a secret path after u destroy the building on the construction site, now i plan to use it every time its open

I got 1:04:44 when I unlocked this trophy, at the time of writing is 30th on the leaderboard of 18,077 on PS3. Not bad :)

Then 1:12:24 after attempting it for the trophy under Quickplay.... 1:11:55 after watching your vid, then 1:08:02, 1:07:56 - 18 - 03 for Xst sake! And finally 1:16:11!!

@Sonicisunleashed2008 True, but it takes some practice. One detonator took me 45 minutes to finally beat. They are hard, but with long practice, you wil eventually get the one first you need to then forget bout it then move on to the next race.

Gentlemen who are struggling to get the achievement,
The Elite GT 12 is a good choice, but if you want to absolutely blitz the 1:07:00 record, use the Ryback Firestorm. I've done it many times over the past 13 years in 01:03:99 or quicker.
1.06.19 YESSSS btw hold down the accelerator as hard as you can because I wasn't holding down firmly enough and it made me drop 2 seconds
@Sonicisunleashed2008 thanks. i just got the perfection trophy yesterday for it!!! That means every event in the seaspn mode offline I got first place!!! It was worth all my work!!! Now to figure out how to beat people online.
Took me a few tries. Got a 1:07.27 then a 1:07.06! Finally got it with a 1:06.53. Once I started racing like it was Forza, it was easy.
@JohnParrr What should they do, get the same DRM Ubisoft uses on it's newest games ? The funny thing about that is, pirates cracked that DRM, and they can play offline with just a simple copy-paste of a file. :)
I just spent like 2hrs trying to beat this without going up the bridge i never saw the jump best time i was 1:10 now imma try it knowing the secret hoping for 1:05 ish
Ok wow. I found this and I've been trying to get it, but I'm always like a second off. It's very helpful, but I just can't do it. I tried one more time, but I tried a different car and got some better times. Only thing is, I just did it not to long ago and I got 01:07:03.

Please tell me how to unlock all cars. I have 3 cars left i believe. I want the second last one actually and the last if possible. Have gold in everything except detonators. 2nd in all detonators and 2nd in one race.

@KnucklesDawson nah ignore them its a commen thing,when some ppl with err smaller brain see something whice they think is good they think its the only good thing ever. this Syndrom is highly commen with Little Kuribo Fans that troll other abridged serieses becuz there not as good as LK's. for beat the i used the 2nd to last car u get in the game, with a 1:06:96 haha! ryback firestorm and it must be red/red or black/red to get it!
ahahahahah the cobretti pursuit is the best car ever ive do 1 06 91 crashing around the track ad breaking and i do it lol

@gomilev its adcievement hunter not a adcievement humor...its a guide to get the adcievment yes jack and geoff are funny but its not about been funny, and the fact that knuckles has to do this alone without a partner makes it a big diffrence

My god, I remember giving myself 10 minutes to get this trophy or I just rage quit. Last try I got it and I screamed so loud.
Spoke too soon. Tried again, crashed after the swinging crane thing.. Tried AGAIN.. Finished with a time of 1:05:78 woot woot.
@dBeauch92 But that isn't a bad thing, Burnout 3 is the definition and source of all that is good and holy!

@Made4DBZ33 I'm not gay but i could kiss your face right now, just tried this car as opposed to the Elite, its seriously rapid, got 1:16:03 on the 4th attempt, doesnt even matter it you hit walls, i just tried to go in a straight line as much as possible and bounced off some of the corners, cant believe i beat the time by this much, my PB with the Elite was only 1:18:73. THANKYOU!!!!

I-pod version is not nearly as great. I used a powerplay under the nuclear powerplant and stacked every car on the track in 2 piles.

Hi guys, as an addition to this video for anyone struggling with it theres a cheeky trick that'll get you an even better time. At the start quickly hold the reverse button to stop your car before it hits the line (and the timer starts), reverse slowly, the game will let you go back beyond the Split Second yellow writing to the yellow line below it. Start from here and you pass the start line and start the clock at pretty much full speed. Makes it ALOT easier (whos gna b 1st to call me a cheat:-)

Hubby (The Hills 1914 - Xbox360) just used Ryback Firestorm , followed video precisely, and timed in @ 103:96! Great video!!!! He first tried the GT12 (108), then the Corbetti 530 (107)...Firestorm worked the fastest for him.
