@mattphaynes The Corbetti 530GTS works great for this achievement. I got it on my third try. I hit the gas and never let go then let the car bump the walls.
This car rebounds off the wall extremely well.
I just scraped a 1:17:99 but I managed that with a Hanzo FX350 rather than the Elite GT12 shown here, I prefer it just for the sheer fact that the Hanzo can transition between drift and gripping much easier, the Elite I find just a pain in the ass to straighten up.
i just took the Hanzo 350 and did some sick drifts to get it at 1:16:12
Unreal these races. Don't mind the other ones, but the Detonator ones are so ANNOYING!!!! I've done nearly all of them up to Season 5 so far, god knows what awaits me >:[ The best time I had on one of them was to beat 1:10.00 and I came in at 1:09:99. I'm very proud of that score :D
I keep just missing this time!! Is this time possible with the 530 gts because I got the other beat the team with that car first time, but I just can't get this one.

In the last video you seemed to wonder if showing the leaderboards was somehow arrogant, but I think it's really interesting to see and i hope you continue to include the rankings in future videos.

@TheBookNerd1 you are using the GT12, right? this method is flawless, save for the part where he drifts around the corner. It is all about letting off the gas, and hammering it on right as you leave the turns, avoiding drifts at all cost. Also, cut corners AS MUCH AS YOU CAN.
To be honest this trophy is quite the headache...after alomost an entire day of practicing it...Using the Elite GT12 as in the video my issue to not hitting my previous time targets come on the last couple of turns after the second tower explosion...I guess finally nipped it in the bud. Good luck to anyone else going for this one..

They've got an elite clean up crew in that city.
If your struggling, I've found it a little easier to think like it's a simulator or like it's Forza. Take a big corner and aim for the Apex.
Something I want to ask too. His best time was under 1.18 when he started and he got the achievement when he finished... Strange no?

I finally made it!!! Best car for me to use: Cobretti 530 GTS. Time: 1:17:68. Just release the gas a little bit when you're cornering, but don't be afraid to hit the crash barriers with the side of your car either. Never use the breaks. With this car I reached the "slow down" at 0:37 and the metal ball at 0:53...Maybe this will help others!

@Paradox421 My problems are with the GT12's power and how it can instantly crash the car if not driven carefully. When Knuckles says in the video, "hammer it," I do exactly that in the same spots...and go spinning into a wall. So I'm just having to learn when it's okay to fully apply the gas. But, being cautious has a price. It means the 1:18 time is way out of reach. I can either crash into a wall or go too slow. Either way, I'm far from the goal.
got 1:16.23 using the GT12. you don't need to drift at all. in fact, if yo u don't at the turn under the metal beams (@ 1:00) then you can shave half a second or more on your time (have gotten to the "slow down" @ 0:37 or so). very important to note, release the L stick completely before you hit the gas, coming out of a turn. if you're still turning at all, this car will start to slide on you. good luck!
Dude! You just helped me out so much! I couldn't beat that fucking level at all! My closest time was 1:20 something! I got into the Cobretti 530 GTS and I get a 1:18 right of the bat! 5 more tries later and I got it! So thanks a lot man!

@IRexHasta I guess he recorded the 'select game mode and track' bit after he got the achievement, because he finishes at 1:17:58 which is also his best time.
Personally, I tried all night yesterday with the Elite and best I got was 1:18:29, so I guess I'll try the G530 now.
Can someone tell me how you suddenly stop your car from drifting, like at 1:02? I can't figure out how one would do that :(
1:16:29 with the hanzo fx350. i'm sure that i could have done it faster but i was just happy that i finally did it after 2 months of trying.

Yep, another Thumbs up for the 530gts, bump nearly every wall, except the one were Knuckles mentions 1:09 and maybe the one after the drift under the dropped beam.

The drift turn is the worst you can do. Unless you get a perfect drift you'll likely lose 1 second instead of saving 0.5. To avoid this and also reaching the "Slow down" pain in 38.5 its better to run into the red-white barrier and use it to curl around, you won't crash if you enter from the left with an angle for the right and it'll save you 0.9, almost the second you would saved with a PERFECT drift.

Can't decide if I want this or Blur - I can't find any reviews for Blur but I've watched gameplay, and it looks really fun.
It's a tough one. Guide is good but I found using the Confetti 530 GTS easier to control. After about 10 attempts I got 1.17.29 . Had about 50 attempts with the elite but I couldn't get a clean lap

@Robot403 Black rock Studios made the game Disney made the funds possible for them, After making this game they planned on making a Split/Second 2 but Black rock studios was all laid off so there will be no such thing as Split/second 2 till someone decides to pick it up like Duke Nukem Forever.
Glad to see you were able to pull it off. Now... Can you please explain how us mortals might go about unlocking this one? Is there a shortcut? A more powerful car? What? Because I've followed your instructions to the letter and am pulling of times of 1:23:00 and 1:22:00 at the absolute best. Something is amiss...

I first played this game on a P4/X1950Pro rig and best I got was 1:18:59 on that event. Just played it on my 950/GTS 250 rig and got 1:16:93. Both times I used the Hanzo FX530. I don't recall seeing the Beat The Team II decal though. Are you supposed to get a decal, or is it just an achievement?

I just did this one following his instructions except for the drift at the crane drop thing. there i did a clean corner without hitting the walls, I got 1:16:56

This is completely easy. I just took the GT12 and drove half an hour to get 1'17"24.
The last thing that made my time was never to release the gas.
@bored412 Part of the beta, Blur is a very solid game, think if mario cart had badass looking cars in a realistic looking environment. Blur is a very good game.

1. The 500 and the Ryback Cyclone are identical with the exception of the Ryback being a touch faster, so I'm not sure why everyone's in love with the 500.
2. Both cars are still too slippery. I've had numerous perfect runs with no breaking and still can't get close (1:23). I don't know what I could be missing.
3. When the best car in the game doesn't become available until you beat the game entirely, then that sort of defeats the purpose of earning the car (never mind online play). Fuck this.

i lost too much time with Elite GT12 here, if u are like me and like to drift, use the FX350! easy win drifting
i used the FX350 for this one while back which was easier for me to do, my time was 1:16.79
and i just had to drive when wolveriin and deadpool are fighting
I give up on this!! I've tried this for days, but it won't give. No luck for me on this one.
