As you were backing out I yelled to myself ITS GOING TO HIT!!! ... and then it did. Laughed my ass off when I saw not real damage. You always put on a great show, Ken. Russ
As you came up the hill in that thing I though that must be what bee bopping was all about! Love the work keep it up bee safe thanks for bringing us along!!
That ole gal limped up that hill with the true belief that old Ken was going to help her feel the wind in her grill again.Keep em running, keep twisting wrenches, keep the dreams coming alive brother!
Man it's so exciting to see new life given to something old. I'm going this weekend to pick up a 73 Chev and a 38 GMC cab and front clip. Good motivation Waylon. Thanks.
My friend back in the early 60's had a late 40's car that was 6 volt and installed a small block chevy in it. He replaced the battery to a 12 volt one. He left all the 6 volt lights, horn and ect. He put a large screw thur the top of the 12 volt battery into the 3rd cell and run a wire to the 6 volt fuse pane. It worked over over five years that way. Thanks for your video's and the time that you spend making them. 👍🍺❤
Anything ever get away from you and roll off the side of the driveway? This is going to be fun watching this project move along. That’s a good omen the way that bucket hooked itself, Mr Clampett .
Nothin better than sittin inside on a hotter than hell afternoon in Arizona and watching ol Waylon wire and get to see my ol buddy Jimmy Hoffa ! My day is now complete !😊
It’s a good life you’ve built for yourself 🙂 that ol’ truck looked so happy to be taken out again. If it were a cartoon it would be a Disney Sunday special.
Back in about 1970 Farmer Tom, the Ag teacher at my high school, built a contraption to haul people and give them a ride at the same time. It was two poles covered with a little padding and handles on a hay wagon frame. Then he put a second hub on the rims so that he could haul folks normal or swich to the offset hubs and it would just jump all over the place. Those flat on one side tires and your ride up that hill reminded me of that.
I thought you were joking when I first saw your comment, but now I saw the part where he pulled the truck out of it's home and it looked like it was about to shake apart coming up the hill...lol
Proof of the true meaning that a tire should be round, right there. You need to fix everything Waylon, but just do it after you finish your dream. This is going to be fun! Regards, Solomon
Hey Ken, another thing you might want to consider on that 65 frame is a power steering box off a later model. I had a 63 and it looked like a later model would fit. I was able to take a front end suspension with the steering box from a 91 suburban and use that in my dad's 69 Chevy truck half ton. it bolted up and the front cross member fit well too. I had to drill two holes and make some spacers for the motor mount gussets. Other than that, it just bolted in.
Great build idea! Love the V-12 plan. That old GMC has some fantastic character and I can't wait to watch it progress. ALWAYS enjoy your videos. Watching from western Pa.
This is going to be an epic build. The old 305 V6 is a great engine. Problem is parts are very scarce. I paid $68 for 1 intake valve 20 years ago. No bearings or rings available at that time. Your doing a fine job on your V12 project. I love how you trigger the Trolls in most of your videos. Hope you stay healthy and well and looking forward to the next video.
The way that old boy was limping up the hill, it looked like you were running on square tires! LOL Hey, I have a little tip for you that might make starting an old engine easier. One of my friends showed me how to pour gas down the vent of the carb bowl to fill the bowl. That will make your accelerator pump work and gives the fuel pump a better chance of picking up the fuel from the tank. It's also less likely you will have a flame up. :D Some people like that though. :D It sure makes it easier to get an old dry engine going.
Watching that truck move with those square tires on it reminded me of watching the little rascals riding around on some of their old wagons & buggies with those wallowed out hubs, lol.
Boy she was looking all used up lumbering up the driveway for the last time and into the operating room. I love seeing the old girls reborn into something else and be cherished for years to come.
Watching that old truck make it up the hill to the shop on it's own power - best l seen in a good long while...that is until l caught the end of the video just after you tapped the steering wheel back on...Yes Sir, this truck's right where it needs to be
I believe that the 12 that you removed from the tear down will be close at hand if you need them. I too was an engine skeptic but being an Ole 63 Impala 2dr watcher, I knew you had everything covered. Can't wait to see the Big 12 project come along. I bet it's got a name but being old I've forgotten it if you mentioned it. :)
Great day what a fun project that thing is going to be so good when you get that old V12 in there and another thing I remember taking a pair of pointy nose pliers and breaking out those fins between the water tubes and them old radiators and heating up the old soldering iron and get in there an Patch him up cuz they was good old brass or copper I guess it was brass but anyway you could solder them things up and they be good to go!
This is going to be a awesome build. I am interested in your ideas🤩. I can see it in my Think 😁 I remember a video that you did like the last clip of the upcoming video on the Rockabilly rat frame 🤔 😄👍FINS UP 👍😄
Don't you just love those itty bitty steel wheels on engine hoists that NEVER roll when you need them to. You looked just like Jed Clampitt coming up the hill in that old Jimmy.
Dude ! You made my week !!!!!!!! Now be honest , When that ol truck was climbing up the driveway on them flat tires , Now didn't that remind you of a scene from your boy-hood home back in the sho-me state of Misery ? And then that very last clip !The amusement just does not diminish ! Hey don't forget the story about the former owner of the horse hauler.NEED MORE VIDEOS PLEASE !
Enjoyed the video Ken. Things are happening now. I was cringing when you flipped the front end off. I just it was good bye to those cool headlights. Thanks for the video and y'all take care and God bless.
Nothing wrong with 6 volt starters, they worked in the day and still work now. My Grandpa's farm had many implements of destruction. The most called upon (besides me) was 1936 Allice Chalmers. I remember being 10 years old at 4:30 in the morning just giving it to that hand crank 1/4 turn at a time. She belched back fired and almost broke my wrist. I heard Grandpa holler, "Hey, don't be breaking my starter!" To this day I don't know if he was talking to me or her!
The sound of overalls in the clothes dryer! The buckled on the galluses make a distinct sound as they go round and round. L O V E the flat spotted tires, and the ride they give!
Ken those are the squarest tires, I’ve ever seen. As Vice Grip Garage would say, “ they’ll be fine!”. Heck the engine’s got plenty of go time left 😂. Let’s get started!
Good morning Waylon Wire. You know you have a messy shop when you need a front end loader to clean it out. Ha-Ha. Not often I see a truck drive with a limp. Ha-Ha. Hay, Hay, don't scratch the patena Waylon Wire. Your videos will never get too long Waylon. As long as they stay interesting as they have bee. Thanks for sharing.👍👍
Hey Waylon, i love the intro im still laughing, what a great way to start the day, my 55 truck is almost road ready, would like to make a road trip up to your place someday, looks to me you are somewhere up by Orondo, great videos
That old truck limping up the hill reminded me of limping going down to my shop to work and after a few more minutes of working I smooth right out. Think you have a great project in the making. with that heavy engine should use power steering box off later square body truck . Just about a bolt straight trade off and worth the effort.
As you were backing out I yelled to myself ITS GOING TO HIT!!! ... and then it did. Laughed my ass off when I saw not real damage. You always put on a great show, Ken. Russ
I was doing the same thing, it's gonna hit.
Watching you drive that old Girl up the drive was the most beautiful thing I ever have seen! Thank you for ALL your efforts!
As you came up the hill in that thing I though that must be what bee bopping was all about! Love the work keep it up bee safe thanks for bringing us along!!
Ps I appreciate ya to!

Thanks for the update. Amazing that old truck made it up the hill and into the shop under its own power. Tire hop!
i really enjoy watching your videos keep doing what you do my friend .and thanks for letting us ride along with you .
My friend back in the early 60's had a late 40's car that was 6 volt and installed a small block chevy in it. He replaced the battery to a 12 volt one. He left all the 6 volt lights, horn and ect. That's genius !
Anything ever get away from you and roll off the side of the driveway? This is going to be fun watching this project move along. That’s a good omen the way that bucket hooked itself, Mr Clampett .
It sure seemed that chassis could have gone backwards down the hill.
Nothin better than sittin inside on a hotter than hell afternoon in Arizona and watching ol Waylon wire and get to see my ol buddy Jimmy Hoffa ! My day is now complete !😊
I saw your comment on DD speed shop. Shows the younger gen wont let this die. You are still king in my book! Love your vids!!!
Loved seeing that old truck cruising on those flat side tires! Looked like a cartoon in the making!
New set of tires and she's good as new. One more thing I like about you is hearing Tom's laugh on the radio in the background.
OUTSTANDING! Like many of your viewers, I have been anticipating this build. And away we go. Oh, we preciate you too.
That's a great shot to see that thing rolling along on a semi flat tire with the bed bodies a floppin'.. Awesome.
I don't care what they say. I love it. I believe what ever you create, it's going to look awesome.
It’s a good life you’ve built for yourself 🙂 that ol’ truck looked so happy to be taken out again. If it were a cartoon it would be a Disney Sunday special.

That ole truck sure looked smooth, especially with those square wheels.
Big Joe,shake rattle and roll
I thought you were joking when I first saw your comment, but now I saw the part where he pulled the truck out of it's home and it looked like it was about to shake apart coming up the hill...lol
That truck is great . l have one question though . Got brakes ?
That's funny
Looks like a lot of fun Ken! Be safe. Todd the retired trucker.

I just wanted to say i love to watch you tinkering and work on your cars together with friends and family , best wishes from across the pond :)
Great build idea! Love the V-12 plan. That old GMC has some fantastic character and I can't wait to watch it progress. ALWAYS enjoy your videos. Watching from western Pa.
WhoooooHooooo! Kinda reminds me of the first time you drove the old 32 Chevy out of the shop. Big teaser...

Ken , I really enjoyed watching that old feller limp up the drive way and into the shop.
It gots a flat tire on the front right and he don't give a care. That's why I like this channel!

What a good old truck keeping on right to the end. Loving this build cant wait for next week.
I can’t wait to see that beast of an engine sitting in that frame
You guys are awesome! I own a 1936 Buick Special, 1949 Super and a 1942 Ford 9N, all original. But man, would love to play and fix more of them!
Watching that truck move with those square tires on it reminded me of watching the little rascals riding around on some of their old wagons & buggies with those wallowed out hubs, lol.
I'm working on building a 37 GMC I've had since 1985. Love seeing this 38.
It's coming along nicely. Another great video 👍👍🇨🇱
I was kinda hoping to see more! 😁👍🏻 Left us hanging a bit by the toes.
More to come!
Love those old trucks. Had a 34 ford pk up cab and every bolt came out without breaking
Driving that truck with no body is the coolest thing I've seen in a very long time.
Boy she was looking all used up lumbering up the driveway for the last time and into the operating room. I love seeing the old girls reborn into something else and be cherished for years to come.
I like it.
Oh I loved that last bit when you're drivin' it sittin up on the frame rails. My kinda mechanikin' right there.
Man the excitement of a new project ! Be well Ken

Very cool video and project!!!😎😎👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️
just knew you would drive that old truck hill billy style out of the shed with no cab lmao
I always forget those old trucks are 6 volt, so cool
It's a wonder those square wheels didn't shake the whole truck to bits. lol That must have been fun driving the old apple truck up your drive.
