Today we are discussing the White Scars joining with the Luna Wolves. And one of The Khans' most awesome moments...
Spoiler warning as usual, the events we are discussing today are from the Horus Heresy primarch series novel: Jaghatai Khan, Warhawk of Chogoris. By Chris Wraight. @@christianbateman2 I don't mean to say he's bad, but now many fans believe he could take Fulgrim no problem. But Fulgrim has an truly impressive record fighting Primarchs, whereas the Khan's record is good but not great.

Man would literally turn almost every other Primarch into sashimi.
When I first got into 40k I disliked the scars to the point of actively avoiding their lore and books I literally saw them as scouts and when the real fighting started they should make way for other chapters but man having learned about their lore and listening to their audiobooks I can safely say I was a fucking fool.
I'm of the same way with the Night Lord's. Little more than wanton butchers IMO

The pissed off Khan became a Dark Souls boss and all the Orcs forgot how to dodge roll.
Also, Rho I love your content. Your ability to find these little short bits of lore to really highlight the essence of certain characters and factions is fantastic.
Rho has actually inspired me to read the whole Horus Heresy series of novels.

Check out the audio books if you can afford it. There are fifty plus Horus Heresy audio books and the reader is great in all the of ones i've gotten and listened to.
- Unremembered Empire, Old Earth, Master of Mankind, Vulkan Lves and im just starting Corax.
I personally prefer that format as it lets me listen to them while i am working.
Me too. I bought the first 2 novels of the Horus Heresy, Horus Rising and False Gods. Someone said the series was a good place to start.
zeran147 Yeah, I will read through the physical books first and then pick up audiobooks later on, I reckon, as funds allow. I do like having an actual book in my hands, but you’re absolutely right about listening whilst you work... or drive... or paint...
Then I suggest to get an audible account every month you get a free book to buy. Good luck there many horus heresy novels. Some are amazing some so so and some sadly are a chore to get through. But my tip for you is if you get bored of the sheer bloodshed and backstabbing of the heresy. There are other books in the universe that can change the timeline the mood and the stakes as well. In the opening couple of novels. I found it really hard to get through. Let me explain, The war master Horus was so likable so heroic. That the worming in of chaos soaking into he very DNA is heartbreaking. But soldier through!

The Khan would prove a desperate challenge to Fulgrim, even with his daemon power. I'd put my money on the Khan.
He’d make Fulgrim choke on his own dick shaped sword.
That's a toss up honestly but khan has killed greater demons of slaanesh by out speeding them so anything is possible in that 1v1.
Khan would be able to outclass him either way
One of My favorite quotes in the Horus Heresy is spoken by Sanguinius to Rogal Dorn about their brother Jaghatai Khan.
"One might as well attempt to chain the wind".
That line reflects the wisdom of Sanguinius and the very epitome of who the War Hawk of Chogoris is.

Khan is legit underrated. Honestly a sleeper Primarch and his Legion. He grew on me quickly the more I read of him.

My son got into 30 and 40k, and he was reading the books. He comes up to me and says “Dad you got to read this.”
It was this part, and I had to admit, this was one badass Khan moment.
I still haven’t chosen the chapter to paint my spacemarines. Maybe this will help me make a choice.

I am starting to be torn between Salamanders and White Scars at the moment. Hoping for a Vulkan week sometime to maybe make that easier.
@David Olsson I would wait until 9th edition comes out to start an army. As for what is good right now, Repulsor Executioners, Eliminators, Intercessors, Aggressors, Captains with jump packs, thunder hammers and storm shields, Thunderfire cannons, a dreadnought of your choosing, centurions and inceptors are all good places to start.
@Grimaldus Dark the only reason currently to go Ultramarines is that they HAVE a primarch... otherwise, the flavor/fluff of the other armies are absolutely more fun :)
I knew the Khan was good but I never heard anything like this I had shivers listening to this it's amazing.... damm do I love this guy to see him go from reaper mode is just plain amazing
I tell my son a G rated version of this part of the book after I finished it. He's too young to read it and understand by himself.

Don't think so. Everybody underestimate Fulgrim.
@Grimaldus Dark I meant that ever since the Khan got so popular (well deserved, had great books) and we see that little confrontation between them in "Scars" people have been hyping The Khan up to beat Fulgrim. But I have never bought into that. Fulgrim has probably the best Primarch vs primarch record and the Khan did well against Mortarion but not more then that.
Fulgrim is easy to underrate, he is weird, vain and "feminine" compared to other Primarchs, but he is also fucking lethal with a blade.
@@Kristian.B.Kristiansen Khan would win because like he said before fulgrim will treat it like a game. Once Fulgrim gets any upper hand he will toy around, he will say how amazing he is and how weak the khan is. At that moment the Khan will win because he not out for glory he out to win.
@@Fourtytwo4242 that is very possible, but Fulgrim have shown the ability to recover from that kind of situation. He had the upper hand against Guilliman, played around, took damage as a result, and then came back with a furious winning attack. Could the Khan win against Demon Fulgrim? Maybe. (the Khan's dps vs demon healing and other strange factors) Could he beat Primarch Fulgrim? Yes, but it could easily go the other way.
I can’t wait to see a Deamon Fulgrim going against *THIS* Khan. No words, no speeches, just vengeance made manifest.
You should definitely also cover parts from 'Scars' and the Path of Heaven. Khan ending the rebellion over Prospero, defeating the Alpha Legion in the warp or making a Keeper of Secrets his bitch are my personal top moments in the Heresy series
"I'm trying my best to resist doing a captain Kirk imression". Please feel free to do one, he is one of the biggest heroes of the Imperial Navy. The captain Picard one requires you to first drink "tea, Earl grey, hot".
Now I understand the Kahn worlds "you would lose: You would treat this as a game, but I would not"
I think I understand what Jagatai meant, because when the Kahn gets serious he's no more human, probably less then Kurtze and at the same levels of the demonized Corax if not worse... He's just an engineered killing machine.

He got that cold rage, and it was nice to see Jaghatai cared for his sons in this at least.

Usually when someone reads books for a video, it takes away that deep feeling of interest, inspiration and admire.
Only few people can pass that feeling onto the video for others to feel the same!
But the perfect voice and the writting (7:15 - 10:52), you can hear and feel the inspiration, the passion, the depth of what is written. That part is inspiring, it gives chills when read and heard!
These dudes are super underrated but they've come a long damn way in the last 10-15 years. They used to be barely an after thought of the story.
I imagine the Khan was made as a 10ft Führer King Bradley/Wrath with two Ultimate Eyes because The Emperor probably watched anime before He became “God” Incarnate. I’m pretty sure He named that planet Goro because it reminded Him of the Shokhan race from Mortal Kombat and it’s no coincidence the chieftain had many “arms”...
Money is always on Vulkan. Vulkan Lives! Does remind me of TTS when the Emperor ask if he became one with the speed force. Great vid.

Those Primarch Heresy era novels are really something. I've just started reading 'Fulgrim', then next it'll be 'Ferrus. From what I've seen here, they really do give you an insight into the Primarchs natures. Got some lovely hardback ones for about a tenner each. Thanks for putting me onto these Rho! :)

The Khan has always stuck out to me since I've done my deep dive into 40k. He's kinda been tied for my favorite loyal primarch with the Lion, but man this writing might tip the scales. Thanks for the fantastic video as always.

Jaghatai os gonna cut that four handed demon prince like butter. I lobe how secretive and humble is about his ability, he doesn't brag, he is not flamboiant, he just keeps his abilitys to the battle.

An amazing battle . such great emotion and wrath from the Kahn . I was pushed away by the lack of lore on him. But Rho you pull me in everytime , I loved this and like the Kahn even more .

I should say best combatant because of his advantage of the wings and all.... I’m sure the Khan is probably better with the blade... Sanguinius did have the spear too...
As long as the opposition is "just" common orcs, albeit lots of them, I'm pretty sure most of the primarchs, with some notable exceptions (*cough* Lorgar *cough*), would accomplish roughly the same feat. It's not until they face each other or similar level opposition (daemon princes etc.) their differences in skill becomes noticable.
P.O. ed Khan vs Black Rage Sanguinius?? My money is still on the Khan,, his movements are deliberate and full of intent while black rage fills you with nothing but instinct..surely Jaghatai is P.Oed but he never lost himself this can out match any wandering beast

I love the Khan but I love the Lion more, but if I had to pick who I relate to most, it'd definitely be the Khan he is apathetic to everyone's feelings and speaks his mind, I am like this on so many levels but I just love how the Lion was brought up so he's my favorite. That being said I can't wait for more videos!

Yeah you need to! I just recently started reading the actual stories myself thanks in big part because of Lord Wolfs recommendations and wow, the books/stories are simply awesome! The universe and its journeys are so deep and vivid that I literally get lost in the books and hours and hours pass by like minutes. 🔥🙏
