The last comment on Georges trophy getting broken and the regard for Georges time to shine was incredible. It's good that George is so composed and loyal to Lance. My dad Jim is a huge cycling fan and so I told him how I had met Greg and he was with somebody who he said was going to be the next big American cyclist and my Dad was like 'Lance Armstrong maybe?' and I said yes and he was blown away!

    Boardman and Obree (version 2) was the Superman position.
    Landis on T in 96 when he won the Tour of California and the TdF (before he was DQ'd) had the Praying Mantis. Victor Campenaerts has a similar position
    It has been shown that Obree's original position (funky high bars and resting his shoulder on his hand) was the fastest position out there. It was banned when he beat everyone. He came back with the Superman position and whooped ass again. Then Boardman used if for his 56km hour record. It has been shown that the superman position is on a par with what is being used today. With that said, shouldn't Boardman still have the Hour Record? He beat the Merckx record on a traditional bike (while at sea level - Manchester, Merckx was at altitude) and then smashed 56km, which is still unbeaten, also at sea level at Manchester. His ride was 1.3km further than Campenaerts (altitude) - then again Campenaerts hasn't destroyed anyone in a TT like Boardman who completely shitcanned Indurain and LeMond in the 1994 TdF prologue. That wasn't just a win - he took them both out back and beat them hard with the big stick. Indurain got a 15 second kicking, Lance 39 seconds, LeMond 41...
    How did Lance get beat by Chiappucci (he lost only 33 seconds to Boardman in Lille) in a TT? Is that where the Fanny Pack comes in?
    US State names - Arkansas, how does that end up as arkensaw? Natchitoches. LA - I dare you to be able to pronounce that place properly without having babies with your inlaws. Banjos at the ready!
    Love the show - keep up the ace work.

      @Christy Dolan no chance??? 😂 An argument could be made that Pogacar is the strongest rider in the race! If not for a mechanical issue in the crosswinds, he'd be in yellow right now! Obviously, Roglic has a strong team which definitely helps. But thats not as important as people think at this stage of the race. All we have left is 3 mountain stages, a flat stage, an uphill ITT and Paris. Pogacar can just sit on Roglic's wheel in the mountains. And I actually give Pogacar the advantage in the ITT. In my opinion, Pogacar looks stronger than Roglic. I'm telling you, Pogacar has a great shot at winning the whole thing!

Question is...did he go into the red too much to recover for tomorrow. If no break, Bora goes balls deep to get Sagan sprint points.

    Hey Gents, Christian from Tucson. I was curious why you see sprinters getting dropped so hard on climbs? Like Ewan being 12+ minutes back today (Saturday) after getting dropped in a climb before the sprint points. How does their training and body type differ to make the climbs so hard and why wouldn't they work to become a more well rounded rider so they can hang on climbs better?

  • @sammicat57
    @sammicat57 4 роки тому

    Gravel cycling is becoming increasingly popular. How do Lance and George feel about that? And are you all riding gravel yourselves? Most importantly I was reading on a cycling mag this AM about a hydrologic seat drop accessed from handle bar and is great to lower cyclist making them more aerodynamic on downhills. I'm sure they haven't tweaked the weight yet, but also easier to maneuver on twists and turns.
    Do you think this would be a safer ride than off the seat tuck position? Of course the seat
    raises when weight is removed.

    Hi guys, love the show from Toronto. Question about this Oura ring thjng, can you explain briefly how does this sleep thing work for a sceptic like me that likes to see how things work before believing? Do you need to wear it 247 etc?

    • @christopherdelavega3241
      @christopherdelavega3241 4 роки тому +1

      The Oura ring is a heart rate monitor. Specifically it tracks your resting heart rate (when you wear it while you sleep). Your resting heart rate is an accurate measurement for determining how recovered you are from the day before. For example, my resting heart when I get 8 hours of sleep is around 46 bpm. However after a night of drinking and 4 hours of sleep, my resting heart rate is around 60 bpm. Fun fact, Lance has the lowest resting heart rate ever recorded at 32 bpm!!

    I still have faith in Bernal. That being said, if he doesn’t gain good time on the Colombier, stage (15), I think he at best wins third place. I think that will be one of the climbs that best suits him. Note: there are also 2 stages in the final week that end above 2100m altitude. He could also respond there but he cant lose more time if he wants to win.
