"This piece has lyrics, but I always thought that they should have been done in Japanese. However, Square Enix always wants everything in English (laughs). But since English seemed to have been done to death, for this one I opted to go with Latin, which nobody would understand. I asked Nojima-kun (Kazushige Nojima, CEO of Stellavista Ltd., formally scenario writer at Square Enix) to write the original Japanese lyrics, then I asked a Latin professor at the Kyoto Institute of Technology to translate it. Things got done much easier and quicker back in the old SQUARE days."

This song has become such a standard that you barely ever hear it these days (laughs). I think people are starting to avoid it so that they don't grow tired of it. I myself listened to it recently after not hearing it for a long time, a wonderful arrangement by Hamaguchi-san (Shiro Hamaguchi, arranger).
