I've owned the same pair of LL Bean Boots for just over two decades. I originally got them for winter weather in Chicago, but they're great for cold, wet weather anywhere. Cold, wet feet are pretty miserable, and nothing else I've owned has kept my feet warm and dry as well as those boots.
Ashley I just love the advice you give on your channel
Your videos always remind me to always go classic and you don't go on what is what's in style. Thank you and love you have more videos now.
In a 4 season climate multiple pairs of nice boots are a must. Great overview!
Great information, especially the care which no matter the price point will help the boot last even longer
Great video, perfect timing. Right now Becketts have their boots on sale. However, they don’t offer sole options like Thursday Boots and other companies.
Happy Friday Ashley!!! Your advice makes the world a better place for everyone. ❤ Additionally, I love Beckett Simonon boots. 🔥
I just received my 1st pair of Beckett Simenon boots last week. I won't get to wear them very much here in Hawaii but plan to wear them when we travel to the mainland.
You can still rock them.
As long as you enjoy them it's a good purchase.
@@buckybarnes3803 LMAO. Right!
@@ORIGINALDaveB the Gallagher boots in black. I'm wearing with to dinner with some dark denim, charcoal long sleeve polo, and black unstructured sport coat
My tldr; guide:
Casual every day with a jacket
- brown chukkas/desert boots (they are great in spring, autumn and dry not very cold winter)
- combat boots/farmers like black (not the shiny ones) Doc. Martens or wheat/brown Timberlands when it rains a lot or snows
Casual every day with a coat
- brown chukka boots
- brown or grey suede or nubuck chelsie boots (you can wear them with a bomber jacket too but make sure everything fits great on you or they will look out of place)
- brown cap-toe boots... plain boots are fine too but they look much more formal and some people might find them not going well with the casual look but that is highly individual.
Advice that can be counted on , wonderful !
This is a list of my favorite boots of this season from NORDSTROM.
I discovered them trying to style my husband - It's a shame he can just live happy using one pair of sandals.
Kodiak/Magog waterproof boot/175
Brunello Cucinelli/ Wingtip derby boot/ 1250
Johnston & Murphy/ XC flex cody wingtip boot/ 199
Clarks/ desert boot in brown/ 140
My favorite brand so far:
Alllen Edmons/ Patton waterproof suede derby boot/ 475
Allen Edmonds/ chapman plain toe boot/ 475
Allen Edmonds/ denalli chukka boot in green/ 475
If someone have try any of this boots, or have similar taste than me, please let me know your experiences, and list of similar brands. TY
None of that fancy-pantsy stuff. I wear heavy duty mountain boots, green farming pants, a white tank top and my grandpa's flat cap. May he rest in peace.
Thank you for the video Ash and Dorian! I'm in the market for some chukka boots. I'll check out your links :)
Beckett Simonon affordable price with high quality 👌 Thank you Ashley for sharing this ❤️
Hi Ashley , would you advise big men to avoid boots in general ? If not what style dress boots or even shoes would you advise for us ? Thanks
Love the video! People notice your footwear. Just a fact that ties in your look. What do you think of hiking boots?
It is quite true with boots that you get what you pay for. My advice is, like with any other product, buy your boots from a boot company as opposed to a fashion house. I have customers bring footwear to me for repair regularly which were quite expensive because they are in fashion, not because they are built well with good materials, but they are glued together junk with a name on them. Some times you'll see J Crew (for example) sell boots from Red Wing or Alden, which is fine because they're made by those companies and not made in China with a J Crew label on them.
How would you pair your attire with each of these boots?
I may not always agree right away but I think about it and I generally agree with her. She is a true professional and I feel she has her pulse on what is correct for men of a certain age. Thank you Ashley you have helped me in many situations and I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate you. I would love to hire You a few times a year you’re doing great work. Let’s face it most men are an absolute mess. And I want to thank all women for cleaning this up. And making those presentable
She ain’t gonna let you hit bro
Fantastic video
Ashley what boots would you recommend for men on a tight budget to buy in England UK? I'm on benefits for a long term liver and brain disease
I would like to see if you have any suggestions for a platform boot for us shorter guys.
These boots you are holding look 🔥
6:00 I've read that oxblood is the most versatile colour, as they can pair equally with warm coloured pants as cold ones.
Are Chelsea Boots good for a slim, short man with wide feet? There is a brand with a wide toe box.
Carmina is also a great choice!
What about button up on the side boots?I think they are very retro and stylish with the right clothing..
How do you protect suede boots from the rain and snow?
I've never heard Dainite soles pronounced that way. Guys, do yourself a favor and get yourself a pair of boots from any of the boot companies in the Pacific's North West. I have a pair of Nicks and Whites and even Danner. There are others as well. Heritage line, work line, all great!
05:53 I'd disagree about the color.
oxblood (or cordovan, or burgundy, or #8) color is the most versatile color for both shoes and boots.
@@ORIGINALDaveB
Oxblood Chelsea boots and black Jean looks absolutely stunning...
of course they call it 'oxblood'...
What are your thoughts on timberlands for someone who's 40+?
I really love LACOSTE ESPARRE WINTER C 319 Black, even tho they are cheaper than what you consider good quality, but the feel very well built, and the stitching is perfect
Probably you already know this but when she is talking about stitching she is referring to the construction type (cemented, goodyear welted, blake, norwegian, etc).
@@onepoh4680 oh I didn’t.
I actually thought she’s talking about the stitching itself :D
Thanks!
@@nikimaslarski2805 I am glad of being of help, if you ever get interested into high quality shoes (construction type, leather quality, stitch density, etc) let it be known it was my fault xD
My Chelsea Boots ankle is 1" wide so what I do?
Humpty dumpty was hilarious. I always say big girls that wear leggings look like a snow cone...but im gonna use humpty dumpty now 😆 🤣 😂
let's not insult women's looks. we have enough sh1t to deal with. how about not making women feel self conscious when we're walking around?
I have to take Ashley's side when it comes to chelsea boots for bigger guys. My brother loves them but his frame is different than mine (i lift weights he does not) and I would not go near a chelsea boot. I think what might work better for my frame are boots like Beckett Simonon Balmoral boots or for something more dressy, I have been eyeing some whole cut oxford boots (I love the clean look of whole cut shoes)
Hi Ashley, do you have recommendations for shoe bags? Thanks!
@@ORIGINALDaveB Awesome! Thank you Dave! :)
Me living in a tropical environment where it rains on and off throughout the day looking at them Beckett shoes thinking "oh I'd definitely be falling down" 😂 Also a quick PSA to all the beautiful viewers don't neglect your nails, women notice, and the conversations had in the store are 👌
Also unlikely you will respond but Ashley (because you're so busy) those last boots for rainy conditions the black (Future) ones are they suitable for hot environments? or should I just stick with lace up leather boots? actually if anyone can answer why not 😁
PS I miss Dorian
I was actually at the store looking at boots and held off buying anything until I had time to hear what Ashley has to say about boots. I really have no faith in my ability to choose clothes smh 😂
I feel you bro. I‘m out here taking notes before my shopping trip. 😭
Hey Ashley! How do you feel about almost knee high Hunter boots for snowy weather?
Anything can look good. Give a shot and post some pics on the community! Link is in the description.
You mostly get what you pay for as long as it's not from a fashion house. I've seen a resole of YSL boots on Trenton and Heath and the heel is a block of plastic
I agree with you about big guys don’t look right in Chelsea Boots
I like your passion on men style. This is really helpful to us men.
This reminds the of the Chapelle bit "100 ways to please your man, by some lady" 😂
Make an ultimate guide for chukka boots please
Si Puerto Rico gracias
STAND STILL!
I got some Chelsea's in a sale, and when I did try them I felt a bit 'Humpty'.
Soles: "Day-Nite" Souls: You 'n Dorian!
I’m a little late but whatevs…
Great video, most men hate chukka boots though, chukka boots are what the inspectors wear at a jobsite, hence they aren’t real boots.
I’ve beat my Clark’s boots and still strong after 5 years. Payed less than 200. I guess I got lucky
It really comes down to luck, honestly
Ashley, you are the best men's fashion guru.
I need to pick up some all arounder footwear for this fall/winter. Something brown, water repellent, easy on/off(Im lazy), with a bit of tread, not slippery soled, that goes with everything from jeans and flannel to chinos and a sport coat. No suede, gotta be to careful with suede in bad weather. Standard oxfords or brogues maybe a bit too formal but possibly something in that direction. I might try some Chelsies but Im a 66 yr old guy and I afraid they will come off as too hipster. Maybe a short plain boot if not too clunky and too many laces to deal with. Leather chukas? IDK, ideas anybody?
You want them free of charge too?
the thing i don't like about Beckett Simonon is their blake stitch construction.... not the same as goodyear welted.
Most chelsea are narrow band slim that's why they not appeal to bigger guy and since big guy also have wider feets that don't look good for the boot appearance..... But if you can find bigger and wider chelsea boots like redwing and timberlands chelsea than it will be good for bigger guy.....
My thursdayboots are my favorite.
Bean Duck Boots is like saying, “My feet will not get wet today.”
Good video. You should see my all_leather lace up boots from GU Japan. About $50 US and awesome.
No moc-toes :(
I agree with you for once, thats good advice. Dont look like an egg, skinny legs and sleek boots are not for rotund men.
"Fall and winter are peak boot seasons". Should've been "peak-a-boots seasons" 😂
Wolverine 1000 mile is the way to go
Wait... Is she trying to say "Dainite" soles?
Tip: you are a 'slim' lady and a large shoe in front of your body makes you look 'petite'. Use a size 6 or 7 instead of 15 😉
God she’s gorgeous
How about a video on bigger guy style??
Already done! Search the channel
Cannot agree on the comment about under 200.00. Johnston & Murphy are great shoes, boots, high quality and are just under 200.00.
Don't use scotchguard. It contains PFAS.
1st view yay
Impressive, indeed.
So as the first viewer, what did you obtain from this video that you can share with the rest of us?
amazing feat
4th commenter on the first viewer, yay!.
@@Alvin-xs7db It certainly is ,bro 🙌
Beckett Simonon boots look nice, but don't come in wide sizes
Did they break up? Where is he?
👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
Sold your sole soul to the sponsors but still good to look at
They don’t do sponsored vids often but when they do it’s on the low end of decent quality (Tie Bar, Beckett Simonon). No thanks. I’d rather spend a bit more or by higher quality second hand. BS is mainly Blake stitch. Just say it Ashley. It’s not a bad thing to say Blake stitch construction is great for nice weather, more elegant than Goodyear welt but not ideal for rain/snow or as long lasting as GYW. I mean if your going to talk about boot style specifically, especially during boot season when guys switch to boots because of the weather it’s a disservice to omit the difference because the sponsor only makes fair weather footwear.
@@pattgsm I agree I particularly like the Dunlop Wellington for aspen this time of year
Good job
wheres the nice guy i liked him
Indian fashion?
Vibram and Dynite are both rubber soles, did you mean to say smooth rubber soles? Either way never, ever, ever, wear leather soles when its wet outside.
lol love when people call dress shoes with a higher top "boots", a boot has to be sturdy, they're function over fashion, most of these "boots" mentioned in the video are not boots, they're dress shoes.
"no Chelsea boots for big guys" ... I'm absolutely gutted!
I need to ask you a handful of incredibly awkward personal questions. I can help.
Under 200$
Hand it over... that thing... your dark sole.
So you love men's shoes but you don't put them on your feet so you can't tell me how the break in process is or how they feel on my feet or anything like that right? So basically you're just pushing shoes that sponsor your channel
The Chelsea boot you picked is thick af. Not sleek at all.
Oh gosh, I thought doing commercials wasn't part of your business model?! At least endorse a brand that offers quality shoes...Beckett Simonon is not it.
What’s wrong with Beckett Simonon? How do they compare to other boots around the $200 mark?
Their shoes are good quality for the price. Don't be silly.
@@Tryambakam108 slightly better than cemented shoes. That's not good enough
Quick glance at her insta, she only styles skinny guys
So what?
Time to hit the gym
@@chiquita683 guess so
so??? she's talking about men full stop here...
Man, never take fashion advice from a woman
Duck boots and sorels are stylish? Since when? 😂
They look like ducks, a duck is stylish
Hey Ashley, are you single?
In the video, she specifically says "My HUSBAND Dorian." LOL
@@jproog41 Ups 😅
Her fake nose is bugging me😑
your misogyny is bugging me. grow up. a woman's appearance shouldn't bother you.
I saw a rumor that you and your husband separated. Is this true?
God didn't watch any Nose guide while making her nose.
For boots stick to Visvim, RM Williams, Danner, Prada, etc. these boots in the video are trash
Today the day of my unsubscription has come. You release the same vieeos every year.
Spring, summer, fall and winter essentials, shoe, boot, jacket and shirt guide and 3 others videos, that's it.
A girls saying that which boots suitable for men's, that's hilarious 🫵😂
