  • British Army Soldiers || Guards vs Paras | 3 Mile Boot Run | HDPRCC
    Infantry courses were focused on core infantry skills, but the various demands on infantry battalions meant that soldiers were not necessarily well practiced in these at all times. Consequently, battalions sought to address this gap by conducting their own in house refresher training. Over time, however, it became evident that the level of performance on both courses was unpredictable and varied between the battalions.
    In 1996 this resulted in the Household Division and Parachute Regiment pooling resources to create the first centralised team to deliver this training, known as Household Division & Parachute Regiment Centralised Courses, known as (HDPRCC).
    All opinion presented on my channel is personal opinion and I am not communicating on behalf of the Army in an official capacity.
    Big thanks to all the permanent staff @ HDPRCC💂

    Don't be fooled by the "3mile" boot run - It's intense warm-up before run, 1.5 miles to the hills, then about 15x hill reps with the 'circuit' (burpees, press ups, squats, planks, etc.) in between and then 1.5 miles back to Camp - all this at best effort, and you can see the speed of the guys (which is faster in real life than on camera).
    Massive RESPECT to the LADS who I am honoured to call my brothers! #Fabziy

    I think that one of the reason that British soldiers are so good is due to the strong emphasis placed on good old fashioned running and marching! Seems obvious to me; their job is to move great distances on foot with heavy loads and then fight, which consists of sprint/stop/repeat. I'm amazed that there are so many militaries which don't place emphasis on running. Perhaps it's because bringing recruits up to a high level of running fitness causes a lot of injuries + requires a more strict medical exam = fewer soldiers. Two great examples I can think of (both from the US military) are (1) when David Goggins went for his first ultra he describes the only cardio he did for a long time leading up to it was 20 mins of elliptical on a Sunday, this is while serving as a Navy SEAL! Not saying seals aren't highly competent but they seem to spend a lot of time pumping iron rather than developing fitness which is actually functional. (2) In Steve Heanie's book (he was in the pathfinders) he mentions some American soldiers who come along to join in on the endurance/mountains section and end up blowing out their arses and trailing behind everybody. Interesting stuff.

      Interesting observations but these boys are infantry soldiers I'm no way being disrespectful to these lads or their professional abilities but as a former S.f.operative review either the Royal Marines or the Parachute regiment or better still the British special forces like the Royal Navy's S.B.S as former seal you would certainly have come across those boys.

    I would like to see more minorities in the British army as if you enjoy the freedom our hero's (our children, our men, our women , our family members, our brothers , our sisters ) provide then surely you should make the same sacrifice as we do !

    • @fabz022
      @fabz022 5 років тому

      Nah they get enough racist treatment on the streets, where they at least can defend themselves from it (sort of, not always and not always effectively); they will get racist treatment* in the Army (as "your" hero's - white middle aged men - rule the Army) and hence the minorities cannot defend themselves from / escape it in the Army at all, so why should they subject themselves to that treatment voluntarily?!
      *Racist treatment in terms of systemic/institutional (and judging by experiences I almost believe it is also systematic) racism for example of needing to work trice as hard as their white counterparts that can be just mediocre, yet they will get better reports and promoted waaaaaaay ahead of the black guys, i'm not talking about the "racist jokes" that are common practice or racial slurs (that still occur but more rare nowadays).
      And please spare me the "there is no racism in the Army nowadays, and that minorities are racist too"- lecture, I know what I am talking about and you (assumingly white) have not a clue about it, in particular do not feel entitled to judge from your white perspective and tell those at the receiving end that their experiences (masses of it) are just paranoia!
      There is a recent report published by Army SCO stating tat they receive a concerning number of complaints of racial discrimination - or you wanna argue that all of these people are just oversensitive, paranoid or playing their black card?!
      Furthermore there have been and are masses of minorities in the British Army, mostly of lower ranks that will never achieve the higher ranks as their white counterparts do with ease and breeze. These soldiers are not shown to the public at the same 'exposure rate', just look on the official publications - full of white faces, or lets look on the coverage of WW1&2!
      other examples: Fabziy is doing an extraordinary job for Army's promotion and recruitment with fantastic videos yet there are other UA-camrs (don't need to mention that he is white) who hasn't done/achieved shit yet have been called in from Army Media to be featured as their 'picture book soldier' starring in short films on Army's official UA-cam; OR there are blokes that were recently stacking sandbags at a broken dam as part of their normal 'soldering job' and get awarded the CO coin for doing that, yet again Fabziy is no where in their consideration for any sort of acknowledgement or award for his work.
      Then there are British people who attack minority soldiers and tell them to go back to their country or join their own Army (even those who were born here and are British but as they are 'brown/black' some arseholes assume they came here and stealing the white Brits vacancies in the Army - hope you've been following the racist comments towards Fabziy on his channel (so there you have it black on white); and please do not tell me that these racists are not in the Army and that there are only few of them as firstly there are a lot of them in the Army and yes there may not be an overwhelming majority who make derogatory racial remarks but there is an overwhelming existence of innate and insidious prejudices towards ethnic minorities - they may even be unintentional yet these prejudices exist and have a real effect on the conduct and noticeably affect the ethnic minorities in the Army. There are even cases (know them personally!) where recruits from commonwealth are being chocked out BT for stupid reasons (some are even based on lack of cultural awareness by "your heroes" that rule he Army) that would never affect white recruits - these guys travelled for 10000 miles and some sold all they have to just bloody join the Army here, so they are the ones that REALLY want to be here and serve, yet they being UFASEd for 'kissing teeth' or using a wrong (rhetoric) term when describing their medical history - and zero f* given (by your governing heroes) what these people sacrificed to join the British Army, off you go to where you came from no longer needed here.
      I could write a book from my own and all my ethnic minorities brothers' and sisters' real life racist experiences in the Army (not British Army in 1960, the Army in 2019)
      So, you do not know any/half of the facts and judge from your ignorance and cushy white privilege world about ethnic minorities in the Army. And do me a favour do not trust the 'coconuts' in the Army trying to tell you that there is no racism in the Army and a even playfield when it comes to treatment/awards and promotions; apply your critical thinking and examples in history, aka house N* and their narrative of their masters and field N*)
      Again, i am sick and bloody tired of whites who have not a bloody clue what racial discrimination (not the "obvious" in your face type) mean and they have never have and never will experience it, feel entitled to tell the world that there is no racism and speak on behalf of the minorities!
      PS: I'd recommend you read the book "Why I'm no longer talking to white people about race" - excellent book that hits the nail.

    I dont mean to criticise the army at all, but isnt this pretty normal? the basic BFT is 1.5 miles squandered, 1.;5 miles individual, and those boots look pretty decent to me. The Royal Marine Comandos 30 miles with 70 lb rucksacks over Dartmoor is what I would call impressive!

    • @Jammil2477
      @Jammil2477 5 років тому

      BK CheZ Depends on how strict staff are. They could just pour the remaining water over your head, make you look daft. Do press ups, burpees etc to ensure you know not to fuck up again, then tell you to go get it filled up immediately, which they could so. Or they could stick you on parade at 6pm showing a full bottle of water which you present in best gear.
      The options are endless. The point they make is to ensure you have the right kit, to do the job. They seem different analogies but the point is the same. Get it right first time, be reliable and you’ll go further faster.
