I BOUGHT A VINTAGE POKEMON CARD COLLECTION AT A GARAGE SALE

- I messaged someone on marketplace who advised she had a pokemon card collection that her son no longer wanted. She told me that he has been collecting for a while and always would trade with his cousins. She told me her son does not want them anymore and would sell them to me for $100. Not only was there sealed pokemon product in the collection, but vintage holographics! Thanks for watching.

I'd be devastated if my mother were to sell a collection like that. Holyyyyyyyyyy.
@SpookRat FACST!
Well...hate to say it. But if you want them that bad they should be at your house instead of your mom's
@@mistyhoffman3751 So if someone is in college, do you really think they'd have room? Dorms are small man lol
@@mikesindahouse10 my mom sold our house when I was a sophomore so yes, I had to do exactly that. But also your assuming this kid is off at college and im assuming they are an adult... I guess we'll never know
said that the kid doesn't want em anymore
Doesn't look like the kid said he didn't want them anymore lol, but instead the mom just wanted a quick dollar.
Yeah
poor kid
Absolutely brutal. The kids don’t know they’re being sold, and the mom doesn’t know what she’s selling. Hate to see it.
@@robinthesky6728 Yeah the kid most likely moved to college and so the mom is selling all his shit. Parents like that are not very loyal in the slightest, I'm glad my parents have always supported me in my collecting hobbies and things like that and have never sold any of my stuff.
It’s amazing the technology phones have and people don’t look things up and just get rid of stuff.
The way you are handling these cards is unbelievable to me as a collector of pokemon cards.
Facts hes handling them so poorly 😢
because he is a not a real collector. He just wants a profit
It’s a shame he is the one who landed this lot. No regard for potentially scratching the faces or taking the time to look at the what he actually has. Dude should have never recorded this crime.
I feel really bad for the kid who owned all those cards
To me, guys like the one in the video are just scammers. I bet 100% that he viewed the Cards before he bought the Pokemon-Cards for nothing. I feel sorry for the child the most.
@@elementarwichtig3572 I agree. The way they are in the video initially.. ain't no way he's forking over $100 buck without them sending photos of what's inside lol
@@3hirdtimesacharm he even said he saw the sealed packs, he knew what this was
Right his reactions were definitely bland and didn't feel genuine at all. lo l@@3hirdtimesacharm
Every time i hear "I don't know what this is" I die a little. such an epic find. Would love to have that collection in my binders. congrats!
Dude you got so many great cards in there that you just skipped over. So many old school 1999-2005 cards that you over looked in the first box especially. Don’t concentrate on just the holos etc, a lot of the rares and even the uncommons can bring you between $10 and $30 each easily.
Amazing find none the less, i’m jealous
Well he clearly doesn't know the sets or era's... just says "older cards" repeatedly 😂
Lol he doesnt even seem like he cares about the actaul cards all he says is how he maid his money back and profit clearly hes in it just for the money instead of the classic nostalgia of the older cards
@@redfazer8431 yup you are right and it makes me mad af... all the bozos always get the good shit luckily. People who actually care never get lucky like that. He don't deserve them
@@ohiobassheadz7631 facts lol
this was terrible to watch
im 32 yrs old and this past year i came across my old pokemon cards from the 90s. they have been in the same box for over 20 years. i took a trip down memory lane. the feeling i got as a kid from opening cards was something awesome!
Your kid version was a great investor sounds like
If you have a lot of goodies, price check em. That’s possible retirement my friend.
Lucky guy, I’m happy for you - albeit slightly envious.
I’m the same age as you, had a vast collection - completed base set, fossil set, almost completed others - TONS of rare hollo’s.
I went back to my family home around Covid time, after hearing about the Pokémon boom, only to find my (former, thankfully) step dad had thrown the lot away (including all my childhood toys - I had a bunch of sought after figurines, being an only child at the time).
Not saying they would have all been PSA 10’s, but I know I kept them all in sleeves and binders and was pretty regiment about having everything in as good of condition as I could. I used to trade kids for their better condition cards and add a couple extra.
Hope you found some gems in there!
Flipping through the cards so quickly I am flinching over the scratches to the surface each card is gaining... great find though
Me too. He handles them like shit
Also how he missed so much he went through them so fast
@@YoungRa04XObro just looked for holos. doesn’t even know value of anything else😂
Buddy, didn’t even damage the cards one bit. Cards are smooth, just like your brain.
Crazy I bet that kid is pissed when he finds out.. awesome collection
My mom sold all my cards 10 cents each at her garage sale when I was a kid. I begged and begged. She said, "You don't need these silly toys anymore. Now that you're older, making money is more important".
Well, that collection would probably be valued at $150,000 to this very day
Atleast she sold them for something my mom gave mine away without my knowledge
No it wasn't
@@VinoShitposts endless amounts of Mint condition 1st edition, jungle, etc cards. Not to mention my prized charizards and a bundle of unopen team rocket and fossil cards.
If I took my time that evaluation would be on the lower end tbh
@@muhammadwaxali4494 I'll give you $20 for em
Could be easily a fake video
Looks like one tbh
It does 😅
Man back to back vintage cards!! You hit the jackpot! congrats my friend! :)
The audacity to say “hopefully the kid didn’t get scammed, that’d be awful!!” 😅😅😅😅
That mom should be punished. There’s NO WAY anybody would give that up for 100$…I mean nobody in their right mind
The moment I heard that the mom was selling it made me remember this one time my mom sold some stuff she found in my room that of course was my rare Yugioh binder collection for $50.00, and there were at least $600.00 worth of cards there, I was able to contact the dude that bought it and told me that he understood but he still wouldn't be able to give it back since he already trade and sold it to a store, and that left me devastated, every time I see a mom that sells cards or stuff like that I automatically assume that they are just trying to make some quick cash but don't realize the damage they might cause...
My mom sold my Pokémon collection for $20. My guess is that they would be around 1k in value
I hate your mom and i don't know her, I would hate her if i was her own son too xD so for 100$ how much profit did he make? I saw a charizard there so...
While he was being amazed by what he is finding, I was thinking about the boy who really owns this like you are scamming a kid who got sabbotage by his mom and he probably knows how much these are worth.
He knows, he knows damn well what he’s done. And what’s worse is 99% of what the Pokémon community is now woild do the same. And these jokers know f all about Pokémon
Some kid comes home from college, sees 100 bucks on the table and says "mom, what's this? She says "it's yours!" He says "wow thanks! Why?" Her: "I sold your old poke-mans!" Son freaks out inside.
Next day: he opens UA-cam and sees this.
And instantly throws up in the floor lmao good grief.
Looks like you ripped the poor kid off.
That is devastating I would hold a grudge to my mom if this happened to me lol.
I had the starter holos and Zapdos
along with many more in a binder along with the stickers and my game boy colour and games. I dropped by my mums and asked where the box was, she casually replied “oh yeah your dad went to the tip and threw it out”.
I cried.
@t2-scoops436 dang bro sorry for you
my jaw was dropping the whole end of the video, this is an insane find for 100 bucks. I would definitely price chart these off of tcgplayer or mavin. Nice pickup and congrats man!

I had an old book bag Packed Full of gen1 and 2 cards when I was about 12yrs old. Didn't even get a chance to go through em all as a kid and my mom ended up throwing em all away while I was at school. I was devastated.
I occasionally remind her from time to time about that. Showing her prices of those cards now haha. Now she's devastated.
dude i can relate to you so hard i remember going through all of my cards and one day nit being able to find em
Lol I like how he sifts through showing cards from diamond and pearl Era saying here's an older card and just completely neglects base set cards in the same stack. Not like they're older or nothing lol.
Right where did he get his credentials again lmao 😂🤣😅😁
Honestly dont think he knows much about Pokemon😂.
I recently bought a binder of Pokémon cards at a garage sale and it had a lot of vintage ex’s and holographics from the 2000’s! The guy wanted $85 but I gave him $100 cause for someone to have alot of vintage ex’s and holographics deserved more 😎
i search my whole life for finds like this and i never find anything like this ever. i feel like everyone knows how much their shit is worth now a days
i got a collection for 1900 recently and it had 14 wotc charizards that was worth way more then i paid for so i think they are still out there but its older people who dont know what they have
you need to find exactly this.. a mother who just thinks these things are childrens things.. generally they give them away for free to other kids.
Awesome find dude!! But it’s killing me how your shuffling those so hard, I hear the scratches on every shuffle 😬
Yeah, it’s like he’s looking for one specific card and thinks anything that isn’t that card is crap.
Me: oh look at the cute cat
The collector in me: don’t touch that it’s devaluing it
So sad that in Europe we don’t get the ability to scout for old collection deals like this. Nice find!
Because european people are smarter as this US woman.
Why?
i feel bad for the kid that his mom sold his cards. But also the way this guy treated those cards he should be banned from buying anymore at garage sales. lol
15:43 he's getting scammed right then by you and his mom 🤣
The guy who owned this collection obviously had some really bad storage and didn't take the best care, unless the mom dumped them into that bin like that. That charizard should have been in a top loader and in one of the tins at least.
I bet the mom was cleaning and decided out with the boxes of cards. Kid had no idea she was selling them.
That was an incredible find and buy!! Those old neo dog cards are great. So many others as well.
this happend to me when i was a kid in the early 2000s. my mom took my whole collection i had been building for the last few years and sold it while i was at school. i got home and asked where my cards where and she said someone stole them. it wasnt until i was in my mid 30s that she told me the truth. it hurt pretty bad cause that collection was my life at the time and meant so much to me. please dont sell your kids valubles. and if you do at least have the balls to be honest.
That kid is punching the air right now
Man, so cool. I always check garage sale listings and FB marketplace. Never have come across anything. For 100 bucks its a steal, usually it's people thinking their cards are worth a lot more than they are and trying to sell modern bulk for like 500 lol

The only thing im concerned about is how you search through the pile like man give the cards some love the way you search on em looks like youll damage them with scratches and all
You robbed a family 😂
Sabrinas gengar is my dream card I can never find 1st edition at my local collectible shops, you're lucky!
Won auction on 3 storages and one had 2 huge bins full of these things. My sons currently going through them and appraising them. I collected these as a child myself and one bin is all the old cards i used to have. Its nostalgic honestly.
Bro this kid who owned this stuff would be devastated because he was obviously collecting from a young age and now all his hopes are gone
Gotta love how he throws the Charizard with the cut up corners in the good pile but throws like 10 reverse holos in the bad pile lol
and like 60 vintage holos
Yeah just basic cards from older sets if they are one of the "cooler" pokemons are so much more worth money than some random holo. People just see it shining and think that its worth more than non shining card and its frustarating
These are the kind of lots people want to find every day.
Dude that’s a dream find bro! Congrats!
Dude hit a gold mine. He should get them graded.

Man I couldn't stop watching!! 😂🙌💯 That was the best 100$ I've ever SEEN spent lol
Man You Got Really Lucky! All Those Decidueyes! I Need One 😂😂
Packs from _Gold&Silver, Ruby&Sapphire,_ & _Diamond&Pearl_ were some crazy memories for me. Especially Ruby&Sapphire bc of EX Mon & all the ridiculous power they had back then. And guess what TCG trainers? 😯
These are the type of moms you would dump them in the elderly home.
Absolutely disrespectful to sell your family members' stuff without their consent.
Its not the collection that you sold that made you lose the son, its the respect for your son you traded for cash.
Grats! Definitely not a bad little find. Although it's mostly luck and condition when selling that kinda stuff. Selling cards can be a pain in the ass because every person who'd be interested is going to know exactly what it's worth and they won't pay a penny more then that 99% of that time. But considering you only paid a hundred bucks you could undercut the value a bit and sell em off pretty quick for a nice profit.
If it was me I'd probably just hold on to the lot, maybe grade some of the better cards if the condition was on point.
Omg I wish I had the chance to get this... It's so amazing, Congratulations for having this big treasure
Moms looking for a quick buck are the biggest reason good collections disappear. 😂
Fleeced the f*** out of that lady, the son probably knew the value of the cards but she didn't. Every fleecers dream here.
what a lucky find. so mad for those kids that mom sold their cards
@user-on-te-legramkreesky i bet
poor kid
At a yard sale, my mother sold my collection with a 1st ed Charizard and so many nostalgic 1st gen cards that I would love to have had to this day. And everytime I think of my old collecting and early Pokemon, my mind is drawn towards that memory. Had my mom not sold them, they would be a great memory, now they are a terrible memory. Kids cannot consent to anything that has an extreme long-term impact while they are kids. The mom should have known better and held onto the happy memory and potential life-changing collectibles until the kid was an adult and then let him decide with his frontal lobe, impulse control, and the rest of his brain developed. I rebuilt a new collection twice, the 2nd time someone stole them along with my laptop and backpack from my car while I stopped doing a PokeGo raid in the city. Its not on you to raise her kids for her, but something about parents selling kids stuff like this that take up almost no room because thy are flat , really rubs me the wrong way. My grand ma sold my mom's American Girl dolls that are worth 100,000s nowadays. And my mom sadly repeated the cycle with my beloved collection. I refuse to cycle again with my daughter's belongings.
Tbf, I doubt a mom would take very good long term care of said cards if she would sell her kid's entire Pokemon collection for a few shekels, without her child present for the sale to give consent, at an age where her son is too young to consent to throwing away such an expensive collection because $100 and other instant gratification undermines the common sense of children at this age and the child will not understand the gravity of this until their brains are developed. Congrats, but personally I stick to small local card stores to pick up my best finds instead of yard sales specifically because the cards at stores are already in the market, whereas at a yard sale I am the one making the exchange happen where it may otherwise not happen to the benefit of the kid whose collection it is. That and my personal terrible experience with my own cards at a yard sale and how deeply that affected me even to this day.
This looks like it was an ex boyfriends collection that she got rid of once they separated. This was not a kids collection lol
Looks like a divorce or break up and she sold her mans cards and she came up with a story that it was her kids... I agree
17:32 you should definitely keep/resale that card... mcdonalds promos go for a lot higher than regular promos

His Mom probably needed the money for something and convinced her son to give her the cards. So sad.

It might be my ADHD, but the first thing I did for my kids was watch videos on how to store and manage these things. She is now fully stocked on top loaders, packets of high quality sleeves, zipped side loaded binders, and those large made to size cardboard bulk boxes.
i love Pokémon cards watching this video makes me want to buy and resell
You scammed that mom out of 1500 in profit. If I knew what was in there I give her 500. You are completely a scam artist. You knew what was in there, hands down
“Hopefully he didn’t get scammed cause that’d be awful” 😎 lmao
it hurts my soul to see such massive collections of cards, yet not even remotely close to being properly stored. I remember collecting some cards (not many) when i was a kid and the ending up laying around the house, until my parents likely tossed them in the garbage. Looking back on that kinda stings.
That is an absolute epic find
Wow this is a great find. Awesome vid man👍🏼👍🏼
Can’t stop myself feeling sorry for the kid 😢
I LOVE these videos. living vicariously through you with all these yard sales and FB marketplace buys 🤩
Keep up the good work man! But check your prices, everything that you pulled goes for a lot more than the prices in the screenshots
I LOVE THIS. So entertaining, I hope I can get a steal of a deal like this one day.
i love how he is wondering what and who the pokemon is
Thing is watching this, seeing the card that was skipped over that was said to be nothing, you are missing out on. Can’t always go for the holos ex/gx or anything that is big cause even some of the base are valuable. I hope you take heed in some of the other people that said stuff about it as well. That’s what kills the Pokémon collecting is because everyone wants the nicer cards, when some of the plainest cards are just as valuable.
Wow this is insane!!! Great find!
It’s literally the best collection that you can ever get from a kid’s collection ! 😳🤩🤯

Lotta good cards in there. wow. Even cards to build great Decks with to play TCG.
I understand why French UA-cam is so much better than other country UA-cam. French UA-camr are Human before all. Every ones of our biggest Pokemon Content Creators, when they go in garage sales and find pricy and big collection like that, they will ALWAYS tell sellers that they're underevaluating their cards and they are happy to tell the real price and pay more. Usually the seller will not sell them at the real price and just up a bit the price because the buyer have been honest. (btw, you do whatever you want, i'm just saying, i don't judge you, really)
The fact he doesn’t know the newer Pokémon hurts my brain
Poor kid. They had a great collection she gave away for nothing.
