- Made up this recipe while on the boat coming back to the marina after a successful day of fishing. First day in Ketchikan, Alaska was a big success. Day two will be even more of a success! Keep an eye out for the next several videos because I think they'll turn out great! Recipe Below!!
For the recipe I used a large Rockfish fillet. Skinned it and butterflied it. Stuffed it with bacon, cheese and avocado. Next time I would probably hold off on the avocado. I coated that with batter and put it in some very hot oil to crisp up the batter. The Rockfish meat was quite thick so after frying on both sides for 2 minutes it was still raw. Threw it in the smoker at a high temperature for 25 minutes and what we had was utterly delicious! You could really taste the smokey flavor! I'd highly recommend trying this recipe!!!

Glad you showed how to send a rockfish back down when it's swim bladder is all inflated. I bet many folks did not even know it could be done. Also great to see TJ and Jan again! I love Ketchikan! I was there a few years back for work. There are such friendly people there. I went to mike’s elbow room and asylum for some drinks with the locals. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to fish while I was there, but now I get to live viciously through you hahaha great content, man 🤘🏼

Damn, I need to get back to AK. I lived in Ketchikan and worked in a salmon cannery my first summer after college. Everyone else was sick of fish but I lived on the rockfish, true cod and salmon I caught from shore (plus rice) the entire summer. I never did get to go offshore but videos like this make me salivate over the insane fishing AK has to offer. Thanks for sharing!
