@@domb8448 correct sir. I submit the awesomeness of one Will Ferrell. But I’m not sure if the younger generation will like his physical style or his impressions (won’t get the reference) but Harry Caray, inside the actors studio and Robert Goulet.

2005 was an important year in SNL history. Kenan was promoted to the main cast, Sudeikis stayed on as a featured player (aka "Didn't get fired"), and Bill, Andy, and Kristen were brought on as new featureds. That 05-06 season laid the groundwork for a nice run.
Seth became head writer too around that time! And he joined Amy at the Weekend Update desk as another anchor. 2005-06 was a massive turning point (for the better) in SNL history
IMO, the 05-06 season saved SNL. The early 2000s were dismal and there were so many underwhelming cast members and hosts, along with some very weak ass writing. Bill, Andy, Jason, Kristen, and Kenan breathe new life into the show, especially Andy and the lonely Island crew as their digital shorts fill the void of TV Funhouse, which was honestly becoming stale, and in the process made SNL relevant in time for the rise of UA-cam.
I used to binge watch SNL from the Bill Hader era when I was a couch-surfing dope fiend and I want to thank the entire cast for getting me through that
I remember the first time he did Al Pacino (Anderson Cooper interviewing him). As soon as he started talking 4:48-4:57 you could hear the murmurs of awe in the audience. You instantly knew he was legit.
I remember watching that and when hearing it for the first time and then just clapping the audience realised how talented he actually is. I’m currently on my rewatch I went from season 31 and now I’m on season 36 and honestly his sketches are my favourite thing about the whole show.

Omg 😆 thank you for that highlight real. 🤣 Hader has always been a favorite of mine, but this really shows off how versatile and insanely talented he is.
We really took this golden era of SNL for granted. I was in high school at the time, and the show was actually relevant and exciting to teenagers. Most of the cast went on to be such massive stars, it’s crazy to remember a time when they were all together, and SNL was the biggest thing they were known for. I know that almost every era of SNL (aside from the 80s) has had people saying “it sucks now”, and then the era becomes legendary in retrospect, but I think it really does actually suck now. I can’t imagine people looking back on the past 5 years of the show with any kind of fondness.

Bill Hader is a comedic genius. I have never seen anything he was in that was not hilarious. FOR REAL!!!!!
And absolutely nailing it better than Andy Samberg's Nicolas Cage.
It happened in Batman Returns.
Walken the accessory to murder?

That was Dafoe.
