The PowerSteps on the new 2023 Chevrolet trucks have the ability to swing to the rear to help everyone gain access to the bed. There is a discreet switch that you tap at the rear of the running board to activate. Works great! My 2016 Chevrolet High Country has the Amp Research PowerSteps installed. Absolutely love them. That was my first accessory. The Boss said she didn't like the factory running boards since they were way too high for her. Fixed that quickly with the Amp Research PowerStep.

This is a really nice feature for HD Ford and Dodge trucks. The GM HD trucks come with a bed side step as well as a bumper step at each corner. Makes sense as the HDs are just so tall these days

Great! I have steps for my Chevy 3500 ordered and scheduled to be installed by our local body shop. My truck is almost 20 years old so there are no bolt holes in the frame for running boards. The shop is going to fabricate/weld them on for $75 and I know they do quality work...better than me on my back welding...it is an 2WD Express 3500 (van body) so it is low to the ground. After 265,000 miles, my wife will be driving it more than I and she needs the extra step.

I have this step on the rear of my 20 F 150. Initially installed on my 2016 F150, I had the dealer swap when trading for the 2020.
Even though my new truck has the hidden step in tail gate, I like this step as it is easy to use if a trailer is attached.
Is expensive but works very well even at 5 or 6 years old.

They look like a nice product. I looked at them years ago for my now older model truck, They were expensive for me and could not justify the cost. I wondered how much dirt and mud from old farm roads they would collect. Will be nice to see the results on that. I also thought about how much would I use them, actually. Guess when you need them they would be there. Now GMC / Chevy has them built in the bed on both sides and in the truck's rear bumper.

I can accept that a 3/4 and 1 ton truck sit higher off the ground. What brothers me more is the height of 1/2 ton trucks. You need a step to get into the cab, much less reaching over the bed side or up on the tailgate to get into the bed.

I have had AMP steps on all my trucks. I prefer the rear corner step because I have full length to the rear tire running boards so no need for the side step. They are the best, especially the rear when you park you truck in the garage, you can step up into the bed without having to lower the tailgate, which if your in the garage you need to move the truck out of the garage or raise the garage door, for standard garages of course.

I have a folding step stool I keep in my pickup's tool box. If you have a gooseneck you may not be able to have a tool box. My problem is getting in and out of the bed, truck bed🙃, when the tailgate is down. The bumper is fine when the gate is up, but the gate is too high for my legs when down. If the gate were not so wide, I could get up on the corner of the bumper, but the way it is, I cannot. The stool is fine for ascent, but I usually have to jump down as seeing the stool on descent is iffy.
Those look perfect for your purpose.

I have two problems with the Amp Step products. 1( is that snow and ice build up on the and they are frozen in place and or break. 2( is that they don't come down far enough for me. Even factory side steps don't come down enough so I bought after market ones and still modified the mounting brackets to lower them even more. Just my 2$ worth.

All the car companies stopped making the mini trucks because the cut into car sales drastically. It was not about safety IMHO. Now that car companies are getting rid of sedans and coupes in favor of SUVs maybe it is time to bring them back. Clearly the public don't like what has been offered and are looking for something else.

@@brianhillis3701 I agree and I hate working with the new pickups. The problem is they are not made for you or me. They are made for the urban cowboy who wants to look cool and pull a 5th wheel twice a year.

You replied that I’m likely still young? As I think on it, there is more than one way to take that in. I may be taking it the WRONG way. I like to think of myself as young, but my doc makes me feel older every time I walk into his office. At pushing on to 64, I want to believe I’ve got a lot more years here…but that’s not for me to decide. Still, I don’t feel as old as I used to think 63+, was. That step would make life a wee bit easier, but 40 years ago, I’d have been insulted to have one. Today, these kids just can’t seem to make life easy enough….and I see them as just lazy. If in misunderstood your comment, I apologize and ask your forgiveness for my abrasive reply. But I’m not changing my mind that 309 dollars for that step is a ridiculously insane amount and I’ve got a hundred better uses for that money. Unless like I said, it’s free. 😊
