Ohhhh I suddenly get the "everyone says what they're going to do, then resolve all at once" thing. Thank you thank you. First session tomorrow!
Good luck!
After our first violent encounter and a character rolling 9 on Gore (instadeath), this showed me how to help players understand the risks involved in their decisions. Thank you so much.
That's great! I hoped it would help people get some idea, we've had our fair share of confusing combats so I understand how hard it is to pull off a tense situation!
This podcast got me hooked on Mothership. Theyre amazing.
Im currently playing catch up on the podcast. Im on the RED one.
Im running it for the first time tomorrow. Cant wait.
Rane in Blood was one of my favorites!
Awesome! Running my first mothership session in a weeks time, super excited :D
I hope this helped, good luck!
I’ve been eager to run my own session with friends this year! Hope your session is awesome!
@@TheSeize102 We played the first part of ANother Bug Hunt yesterday, it went great!
@@jacoblindberg8915that’s the one i have too! The module is beautiful to flip through. Coming from DnD, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the mechanics
You are doing wonderful work here, this channel really helps show how exciting Mothership is as a system
Thanks mate, you too. I would like to do more smaller videos or tutorials but I'm just too busy with the AP's at the moment!
About to play my first game of this tomorrow. Super helpful video.
Damn, that‘s a great visualization!
I‘d love to do something similar for my group.
It‘s not a stream overlay, right?
How has this been made?
I just saw you used Magix Vega, but would you mind going into a bit more detail? The result looks fantastic and I wouldn’t have any idea how to achieve for example the audio source animation
As you mentioned I use Magix Vegas to put together the layers of graphics, the waveform animation is made in FL Studio and their ZGameEditor Visualizer. It makes a separate video which can be added to the Vegas project and blended in/synced up to the audio track.
At 13:25 you say, something as reducing the stress… because of the critical success.. but I don’t get it. Would you be kind enough to explain me the rule ?
Sure! We kind of picked it up as a house rule during oneshots that a critical success would also reduce 1 stress and it carried over into normal play.
@@nwtbpodcast I like this idea. Thank you.
Is this 2e combat? Great video and play by the way
Thanks! By 2e combat do you mean 1e? (which is ironically the 2nd edition of the game :) )
Yes that’s right - so you use auto hit damage (no rolling for monster ?)
@@linolourenco5447 I tend to roll for each monster attack, more fun for me.
Does everyone use maps or do you guys just use imagination instead?
During the game we just used a static picture of a scene like the security office and had tokens up to signify each character. The battlemap and animations were added afterwards to give an example of how it would look.
@@nwtbpodcast ok I am so used to maps that I think we rely to heavy on them instead of just story telling and interaction
It's fine to use maps I reckon, they are a quick way to help the players visualize the scene but as long as they understand to use it in an abstract way. Maps can be both limiting and a way to show the layout without long descriptions. The trick with Mothership is you're not bound so much on the base description, it's more of a conversation between Player and Warden.
@@nwtbpodcast true might try something different not everything is a dungeon crawl
What VTT is this? Foundry?
It's an animation created in video editing software, I use Magix Vegas Pro!
What's this music?
