I really wish gamers designed these handhelds. There are so many things with ergonomics that don't look well thought out with this. The analog sticks need to be more ergonomically angled to the D-pad and buttons plus those buttons tops look overly rounded and would be nice if they had a flat surface. If they don't figure everything out and release in the next month they are gonna lose BIG! This thing needs to hit the market and be seen a little bit before black Friday or all next year the sales won't do well.
More competition is great. I would would say some in the coming years will not make them. In the end, we will get the best products in coming years.
The smell test is the most crucial part that turns your review from mediocre to great.
Haven’t seen anything good since razers edge. Been waiting for someone else to step up to the plate!!❤
IPS display for 2024... really I would wait for the Ryzer 9XXXU series releasing soon
So what happens when you get stick drift?
I'm still waiting for the day a major manufacturer makes a clamshell handheld, the angle of view is so much better, I don't like looking between my hands as I play.
You could always try a GPD device?
@@DizY_8 lol.
@@DizY_8 @DizY_8 *Major manufacturer*
I said that specifically to exclude GPD and other Shenzen manufacturers. I have a GPD device, I never will buy another one.
@@LeesChannelRan into issues with GPD?
@@CodeSerial It had malware pre-installed, the downloadable software to customize the controls also had malware, the screen accuracy was way off and the white point was over 8000k (ideal is 6500k), the device had oxidized connectors straight from the factory that I had to troubleshoot and fix on my own, and the analog triggers did not function correctly (one side was fine, the other side didn't activate until 50% depressed, then was reading maxed out at 75% in.)
I want to buy a high quality device, that feels good in the hands, that has a beautiful, accurate display, that functions correctly. And has no malware in it or its tools. You're not going to get that from the Shenzen manufacturers.
I see no reason to get it over the ROG Ally X.
Нужна такая же консоль но баксов за 100, на intel atom (как пример Linx Vision 8 inch Tablet with Xbox Controller - Black) Или типа того, для старых игр и современной индюшатины.
The stickers make it look like a toy, not a high end handheld gaming pc.
Those decals. Geez.
Valve has the upper hand with handhelds, because they can sell the hardware at a loss and recoup it in game sales since it's on a proprietary platform. That's how other consoles also manage to be cheaper than PC's. The other companies are forced to make their profit from the hardware itself. They just can't compete!
This looks close to the length of the Nintendo switch OLED?
The first handheld with integrated HDMI port its a direct buy. No need for messy docks.
HDMI is proprietary and requires royalties, whereas USB-C is more open and can carry DisplayPort or HDMI signals with an adapter, and can do so while charging... so I disagree and good riddance tbh.
@@ElCeceh Damn didnt know that, Im not a techie but that would solve all my problems with a long asf HDMI cable and everything is solved! I have the Rog Ally and to doi everything with a bluetooth controller, dock and stuff its just a hassle....
Why do people like asymmetrical sticks? I hear people talk about it all the time like it's just the best option by default, but i can't really think of a reason why. I like the PlayStation layout the best.
So the x is still stronger?
Price ?
OK, finally, that 7500, someone knows it's Mega Transfer per seconds, not Mega Herts per seconds, I feel like healed.
And this one, the CPU is not Z1 Extreme which means it is with AMD Ryzen AI, if FSR4 updated, it can have Ryzen AI accelerated FSR performance, and this can get higher graphics performance than Z1 Extreme.
Man those big ass bezel 🤣🤦🏽♂️
The bezels on this thing are enornous. It might become an interesting choice once Steam OS becomes available to everyone.
I'm still waiting for steam deck 2 lol
Edit: bros fighting me in the comments 💀
Naw
We don't need no steam deck 2 after 2 years gtfoh
@illkid86 maybe YOU don't. But I'd rather have the best than shitty imitation.
@@ironfan998 mf steam deck is fine how it is we don't need another one when the current one is still good and have the latest updates
@ironfan998 I'm satisfied with my deck hell I have my deck streaming youtube tv and my tablet for movies so im good
It looks good 👍
these dedicated buttons are a great choice. great review
They should just wait for the zen 5 strix point apu, then they will have top of the line processor
I really wish gamers designed these handhelds. There are so many things with ergonomics that don't look well thought out with this. The analog sticks need to be more ergonomically angled to the D-pad and buttons plus those buttons tops look overly rounded and would be nice if they had a flat surface. Compare to Steam Deck and ROG Ally to see the preferred layouts for comfort.
Maaaan, such a cool device, such terrible design, sad to see.
Also, why on earth companies keep announcing these, but not showing complete specs, price and launch date, leaving that type of information out just kills the hype.
@@ItsMendes Hopefully they will get good feedback and fix the issues before launch like that angle of the analog sticks to the D-pad and buttons. Also the tops of the buttons shouldn't be round but have a more ergonomic flat surface.
Yeah, the sticks look way too cramped, i really hope there's still time to change the body and design
If they are gonna sell it next year its gonna be a hard sell since Ally X came out with a better sepcs and the MSI claw AI which has both 80 wats battery, VRR, and Claw has a new processor and 8 inch screen and I think legion go will release a refresh as well next year and Zotac with that Amoled 1080p display and OneX with that 2k 10 inch display. I think the specs is on par with the 2023 Ally Z1 extreme however I think with ally having a lot of updates is probably a better choice. They should release it this year or its gonna be a hard sell for next year.
$549 if this thing wants to succeed, most other handhelds are discounted to this price already, and Acer is a little bit late, Z2 is not far off
Last time Acer tried a dedicated gaming handheld, we had the weird looking Predator 8 Android Gaming Tablet.
Their support of it didn't last long.
I hope Acer had more commitment to this new handheld. 🎉
If their laptops are anything to go off of, this should be pretty great!
screen looks nice
Very Good
Did they say or did i miss, does it support HDR? i enjoy all these versions of handhelds its making the waters competitive for all handhelds.
pros with this could be eGPU w/144hz but whos really doing that lol i wanna play on the go, and im afraid this battery may be a problem i do like the fourm factor of this aswell though.
imo its gunna be hard for them being ZOTAC ZONE has stepped into the chat & HAS MY EYE, no vrr like the acer or asus but im ight with locked framerates ill be on the GO. THE ZOTAC has the amoled 120hz HDR display, im almost sold! The battery on that also not as competitive but the amoled screen might help with that. Being all of them dam near will have the same performance ud have to for usecase/fts and i worry the acer just lacking so there price has to be good, i do wish acer added a trackpad shame.
Nah thanks! Valve and Asus thank you for y’all hard work 😂
You can't complain about performance but the design though
bezels be like whoa its 2024 invest on a bezeless screen
decals and 16gig, is a big miss for me!
same for me. The Decals look like shit and 16GB is too little ram.
It looks like a 90s product that is trying to look futuristic
Stop with the 16gb of ram already
The standard should be 32 gb of ram at least
I need track pads like on the steam deck
