I am so sick of people feeling like they need a 15in flat screen. Give me a break, pay attention to the road. Seriously what are you really looking at!
7 is fine for most things. More is nice when using a map program.
Agreed!!
Uhmm, looking at navigation, back-up camera, and the occasional music change?
Obviously 15 inches would be too large, but that doesn't change the fact that 7 inches is indeed a very small screen size for this size of car. A 9-10 inch screen would be appropriate in both aspects.
I prefer features that will not break at 40,000 miles, so I’m perfectly fine with outdated 7” or 9” infotainment screens that won’t distract you while you’re driving. That’s why you have logical, intuitive buttons and ergonomics that Honda is known for.
Well said!!!
@E Johnson help me make a decision. I’m stuck between this vehicle right here in my dream vehicle TLX type S I found one at MSRP and I’m getting great money for my trade. Go for the dream or stick with a pretty damn good second place.
@@nickcivic21 Depends on where you live. I also like the Acura TLX Type-S but even with SH-AWD, it doesn’t make sense for me to get one because it doesn’t have enough ground clearance when we get big snowstorms and they haven’t plowed the roads yet.
Size of screen has nothing to do with durability, and squinting at a small screen that has squished the CarPlay into a 7” rectangle isn’t necessarily safe either. Legible, easy to read displays make sense, there is no moral virtue is a tiny screen, especially at todays prices.
I absolutely agree…just looked at one for the second time today and not having a huge screen was a major plus for me.
Those who understand the the parts of the car your can't see, (engine, suspension, AWD system etc), and how they compare to the Korean Twins, understand there is no competition. The Honda is a car for those who also care about driving dynamics. Kia and Hyundai are making nice crossover's, but they are basically a couch on wheels. The Pilot still manages to make driving fun..
The previous Pilot was terrible to drive. I tried. Minivan.
@@2steaksandwiches665 I’ve never driven one. I have 21 Passport (heavily based on the previous Pilot), and it is very pleasant to drive. The AWD system is confidence inspiring, it feels well planted on the road, and there is lots of grunt when you call for it.
that 3.5 from honda is bulletproof... this is a pretty solid SUV for the $ and the color is quite attractive.
I agree. And it is quite capable off-road. It's not a Jeep Wrangler or anything, but a Jeep doesn't have Honda reliability, either.
I just want to add to the above comment…. I came across your show when I was searching for a used car. I’ve found it! A 2019 Lexus 300 h. H stands for 43 mpg and regular gas. I’m delighted with my purchase. Thank you for educating me. I’m not going to stop tuning in because I lov you guy!
Very cool!
That's awesome to hear, thank you!
Seems like Honda is returning back to the mid 2000s Honda Pilot with that boxy look. This vehicle looks promising:
1) Naturally aspirated V6 and not turbocharged
2) Large cargo room even with 3rd row seats up
3) Roomy interior/seats
4) Bulky enough to handle rough weather/terrain
5) Decent fuel economy
6) Again, no turbocharging nonsense and over the top gimmicky interior
Not interested in a 3-row SUV....but I watch your reviews because well they are very informative and I like what you do.
That's really nice to hear, thank you!
Glad you like them!
im not either, but if there ever comes a time where you might need one,
the Honda Pilot is right at the top. now there not the best,
that goes to the Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia the GM twins,
but the Pilot is top 5 for me.
I dont get it, why peple complain abt screen size as if they are going to watch video while driving?
7 inches is a usable minimum. If you are using maps on the display, 7 is borderline. But yeah 7 imches isn't a deal killer most of the time for most people.
I like it better than last version……..like the V6 ! But I’m just here for Andrea’s smiles 😁😊….and the boots 👍 lol.
I’m very honest 🙂
Another great videos! Always love your contents. Great joke about 7 inches, you guys almost laughed 😂
I would love for you guys to briefly give your opinion on the audio quality on whatever trim you are in with these reviews. I know it can be subjective but that's a big part of the driving experience for me and would be interested.
I have the touring and its not bad. I would definitely upgrade the speakers.
Lol thanks for using my question. I'm the one who asked about the trailwatch camera 😂. FYI ended up buying a Pilot Black Edition, and my wife's favorite feature is the 360 camera!
Glad I don’t have a large family to haul around. These suvs are $$$
Totally agree JP. And another pet peeve, how many times do you have these full? Not much. Unbelievable, this is not offered as a hybrid too. Gas guzzler heaven.
@@roupenyeremian6801 The new Mazda CX -90 and the Toyota Highlander are both hybrids.
@@brokeboy87 Also wait for the CX70 to arrive in the United States. I think that's going to be a home run.
@@brokeboy87 Hi Floyd...I know and I actually like the CX-90...Mazda nailed it with that along with the CX-50. It's just Honda should have had the Pilot with the hybrid from the start. I agree with Andrea about the screensize too. I have two Hondas but I cannot honestly say that I will go back to them because of the just criticisms they are getting. I hope Honda is listening.
@@chriskelly509 Mazda is doing premium without the premium prices. Also, I think they best paint colours out there too. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I swear the CX-70 has a hybrid option too (?)
The main difference for me and pricing regarding the Kia and Hyundai is the markup on those vehicles. Still dealerships in my area are marking up the Telluride on all trims by several thousands. Mazda, Honda, and other manufacturers are not. Just for reference I’m in South Florida. I’m actually in the market as my lease ends next August on my CX-9 and I can say I won’t consider anything that’s marked up above MSRP. Even though the infotainment is on the smaller side the Pilot is very well done. I’ll definitely add it to my potential candidates. As always, great job guys!
Love your videos down here in the lower 48! Thanks for your humor and information....as usual.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
If they eff up the next 4-runner with a 4-cylinder, this Honda would be top on my list.
You guys are so cool. The more I watch your show the more I fall in love with both of you. You should have a wider audience. I know you have it in you Take the next step!
Thanks so much, we really appreciate the kind words!
Honda over Kia 8 days a week.
Don't knock it till you try it
Great job as usual Zack and Andrea! This is at the top of my list right now (as well as the MDX Type S) mainly because it still has a V6 *AND* because I can get a 2nd-row bench seat with all the goodies (Elite trim)! Normally (in many brands) if I want the head-up display, heated 2nd row seats, etc., I am forced into captain's chairs because apparently, marketing research says that folks that can afford the top trim don't need the extra room in the 2nd row. I call BALONEY on that - haven't these marketing companies and car brands ever heard of families with three kids? For a road trip, I want all three kids in the 2nd row, leaving plenty of room with the 3rd row folded for all our stuff. And Honda/Acura have come to their senses and given me what I want!!! THANK YOU HONDA!
But I have one gripe (that's me!) - why can't the Trail Sport be offered with the 2nd row bench as an option? I much prefer the smaller wheels and taller sidewall tires. Make that two grips: what's up with the tiny screen? I have more or less resigned myself to living with the 9" display in the Elite trim, but wouldn't it be great if Honda would give us a moving map on the MID? I get that the HUD can show navigation turn info, but there's no substitute for a map on the MID!!!
I said same thing. Everyone I talk too liked the bench seats.
If you can afford the Type S and don't need the space, I would take that any day over the Pilot. MDX is so much better in almost everyway. This is coming from the 17 EX-L owner.
@@afzalshaikh2128 *to.
Who would cross-shop MDX Type S and Honda Pilot?
@@afzalshaikh2128 hey
Tuned into another video Andrea, been a real cool week seeing you both so many times. Liking this car and the colour is a refreshing light blue. Lots of features.
Yes it certainly has been a busy week, home for a few weeks now.
@@andreaspencer9813 I'm pleased for you that you can take some time to chill for a short while.
You hit the nail in the head about the infotainment size. Next year's Pilot will have a larger LCD. Honda has all the "updates" planned out.
they didn't upgrade it for the 2024 model year...huge miss
I would wait for the new Passport based on this Pilot, to replace my RDX. But these are getting expensive... Great work as usual!
I love it and I love the push button transmission! Now we need a hybrid that gives better mpg.
Kinda disappointed by this video especially when comparing this to the Korean twins. What Pilot does a LOT better than those vehicles is ride and handling. I test drove telluride, palisade, pathfinder and few others. They are total boats and felt like driving a truck.
Pilot felt like driving a bigger CRV. It baffles me how so many reviewers focus on a smaller screen which you won't be looking at 99% of the time when driving the vehicle, but hardly talk about driving dynamics which is what really matters on the road.
The torque vectoring itself makes this a far superior vehicle than anything in its class. Obviously, the sport mode of an 8 seater cannot be compared with an RDX, but in its class, I found this to be truly special. Only other vehicle that drives this well is an explorer but it's much smaller and lacks in usability of the Pilot.
Anyone reading this, please test drive all of the 3 row suvs before spending over 50k. Pilot is WAY better than the Korean twins, highlander, pathfinder etc. To be totally transparent, I didn't drive an Atlas bcos of reliability.
Any chance you test drove the Subaru Ascent? Curious of your thoughts compared to the other SUVs you test drove.
You’re right but what I gather from the comments on this video is that the most important aspect of a vehicle is the screen size.
Every generation of the the Pilot has been impressively improved, in every respect (interior/exterior/materials/style). And this latest one doesn’t disappoint. Its not exactly my cup of tea… but I have to give credit where credit is due. Well done Honda. Thanks for the very thorough video.
Thanks for watching
Another great review guys. Love the vibe while watching. I wish Honda brought back the manual shifter. The push button makes it feel wimpy. Bring back the traditional shifter!!
3.5L V6 is tried and true. It still is on my 2006 Odyssey. May need to go with this SUV since all kids grown up now and it will allow us to drive safely through rain and snow. 😊
They need to provide a larger entertainment screen and wireless CarPlay otherwise wires will be hanging everywhere. It looks like Honda neglected this portion of the design and just dropped it in for now. Bench seats bring your family members closer to each other without having someone left out behind at the back of the cave.
The V6 has changed significantly, but hopefully, it will still be reliable. Savagegeese do a great technical breakdown on this vehicle.
My husband and I saw one of these in person and your video perfect captured the unique color! We tried to take a photo but it wasn’t the same. Lol. Really like the color!
Beautiful colour!
Here we decided to bring the pathfinder sl premium 2023 to our home. I was a former honda vehicle owner, but the price they're asking x the car features was too high. We are very happy with our choice. This new Nissan Pathfinder is a outstanding car.
You should have mentioned the lack of second row arm rests in the higher trim Pilots when jump seat is removed. 15:03
They are not missing on the Odyssey.
Like nice back end eh Zack? Ha! As usual great review. Agree with your negs and pos’.
In case Honda reads these comments. It is nice to have non turbo vehicles. Years from now there will be a lot higher percentage of normally asperated engine vehicles on the road than the turbo models. I know turbos and love them, but like Toyota going away from the V8 for their Tundra was a big mistake.
Another great review. Would love to have a compro of this with ranking of the latest models of the four rigs you used for comparison at the end of this video. Methinks Honda has a winner overall but the Highlander Hybrid is hard to ignore with its superior MPGS.
The Japanese and Korean car makers own this segment(non luxury midsize 3 row) in my opinion. The north American options are there but I don't think they are as good. For European options you have to spemd more and with a luxury brand
Spent weeks researching and driving all of these cars. Was down to highlander and Pilot. Highlander had way too many deal breakers.
1) Horrible wind noise over 80kph
2) Cheesy driving experience
3) Unusable left armrest
Only thing bad about the Pilot was the cheesy entertainment screen. In all other aspects Honda ruled the day.
The smaller screen is an absolute plus…I don’t know what the hell people do on these things that they think they need a bigger screen. Honda please don’t take their advice!
Today we learned that Zack likes a good back and Andrea likes the front. Also, 7 inches is not enough.
Now I know why MDX got rid of the lower two trims this year, with that aggressive pricing on Honda, the Pilot will probably competing with its premium brand.
You guys are funny!😄 Keep it up! Love your Channel.
Thank you so much!
This generation of Pilot actually looks great. Unlike its predecessor which looks like a minivan. In a segment, which is a heavy 7-seater configuration. Stick with a V6 is a no-brainer. With Honda's engineering prowess and SUV's money earning abilities, meeting tough emission standard aren't exactly difficult. It will be a difficult choice between
Pilot and CX-90 3.3T.
EXL always stood for real leather. When did start skimping on it? And only give leatherette?
Noticed that too
84 months @ 7.29% APR in Canada = $953 per month for a total of $80,052 if purchased in Alberta. Crazy that people are financing vehicles at these rates. Everyone needs to hold out until the APR drops back to 3% at least. Make the manufactures sweat it out....
People, especially in AB, have very good paying jobs and $1000 a month is clearly not a lot for enough people such that the iron keeps moving. Only way to stop this is to push the rates even higher, or for people to start losing jobs in big numbers again.
I bought a brand new 2023 Honda Pilot Sport three weeks ago. It is bigger and looks better than
previous generations. It's gas mileage is average, performance is OKish, nothing impressive. The
brake is not responsive, you have to push the brake harder to get it stopped. But, The second day,
the check engine light on. Here is the message:"Emissions system problem. Power may be reduced. See
dealer". I immediately drove it to the dealership Service Dept. But, that Service Advisor said I
did not make an appointment and has a kind of "do not care" attitude. It took me lots of efforts
and almost 5 trips, eventually, they said it a sensor issues which is in some kind of value of the
gas tank areas. They put order to replace the value and sensor. But, it has been over 15 days and no
ETA from the supplier! Plus, the driver side wiper blade simply flew away the first time I turned
it on in the heavy rain. It took three phone calls and two appointments to get the new wiper blade
installed because it need to be "ordered" also. On the left side of back window,
the bottom trim is not glued well and can easily peel off and has not fixed by the Service
Dept yet. Since 1996,I used two Honda Accord which were very reliable. and a Honda Odysessy van
which had transmission issues after 6 years. After that, I bought new Acura MDX and drove it for
over 15 years and very reliable. That is the reasons I come back to bought this 2023 Honda Pilot.
But, looks like Honda's build quality dramatically degraded. If I have choice now, I will NEVER buy
Honda cars again. First, the manufacturing quality is very bad from my experience with the brand
new Pilot, secondly, the experience with the Service dept is very bad also. Especially with the
ordering of parts, it take over 15 days , no ETA ! what's hectic ! From the Honda manufacturer to
the Service, the Honda is degrading big time. I will not recommand anybody to buy the 2023 Pilot.
I am in a limbo between Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, or Hyundai Pallisade. What is your honest take in terms of value and reliability? Thanks
Here for the algorithm. Y'all are so cute. Great review per usual! Thanks you two.
Thank you so much Ashley!
The size of the info screen does not bother me, I like the off road goodies like the trail camera, skid plates, torque vectoring, better suspension and full size spare. I dont like the mpgs. Honda work on the mpgs and you have me.
I would still be nervous paying 60k on a Kia. Yes they look great but will it last 6 years trouble free?
Top trim for canadian is the black edition not the touring...would be glad to see if you review the black edition too...
Do you think the highlander should be compared to these larger SUV's? When Toyota changed the highlander to this more car like gen it seems like it's more like a rave 4 size. There is not much room inside. The new Grand Highlander should be the comparison from now on for this size of SUV's. The normal highlander is somewhere in-between. A chart brake down of size comparisons would be helpful. exterior, and interior dims. The rear door hatch dims as well. It's always nice to see what can fit through the back hatch. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for your detailed reviews. After watching your videos for the SUVs we were interested in we ended up with a 2024 Pilot EX-L. We also test drove the Atlas and I was not at all happy with the amount of noise on acceleration. I am also still not convinced of the reliability of turbo 4's in these mid-sized SUVs.
thank you always for providing a description in the bio
There is a Black Edition in Canada. I just saw it on Saturday going in for oil change. Odyssey also has a Black Edition for 2023
Yes, you are right, it has all the same features as the Touring trim but the addition of ambient lighting in red, gloss black side mirrors and a gloss black front grille bar. It's priced at $64,975 CAD.
I sure would like to know if you prefer Honda's V-6 over Mazda's Inline 6? Zack, Andrea?
I prefer the Mazda but it's all new, so time will tell how reliable it is.
"7 inches just isn't big enough these days" 👀
This video should be PG-17 (or something like that). 😉
That noise sound the mean machine! 😆 only thing I like about Pilot has a tall ceiling as I watched Zack sit in passenger side and driver side and there’s plenty room above his head. I hope they start making a hybrid because the gas mileage just awful. I too don’t get why not putting a bigger touchscreen. I rather get 12 inch or 15 inch. 😆 Great video Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻☕️☕️ Oh by the way love the blue colour!
So glad you enjoyed it and yes, the boxy design creates a lot of space and headroom.
@@andreaspencer9813 👍🏻👍🏻
Honda needs to offer more and less conservative exterior colors, and more options on interior colors (e.g. you can buy the red Pilot with any interior color as long as it is black). Solid black interiors are uninteresting and cheap looking.
Is that why most cars on the road are black, grey, silver or white?
No arm rests for captain seats that have removable center console?! Loved my MDX but need to move away from premium gas. Too bad no hybrid model.
I too like a nice rear end and Andrea, no worries. 😊
Gutted they don’t do a bench seat in the Trailsport. It makes no sense.
And true, the price of SUVs is utterly ridiculous.
I think the design is more classic which should help it, in the long run, to retain a higher resale value.
I think Honda needs to start cutting prices, they charge too much for what you get. Honda has been really coasting along on their reputation for reliability. In a world where the likes of Kia and Hyundai have excellent reliability and a reputation for packing their vehicles with lots of features for a relatively low-cost, Honda needs to step up. I have owned the Hyundai and I currently own a Kia and I don't see any reason to spend thousands more on a Honda or even the Toyota when I have experienced excellent reliability.
I think the real competition for the Honda pilot is the Nissan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder has an excellent V6 engine, 9-speed automatic transmission and excellent fuel economy for the class. The base model all-wheel-drive pilot is $6,000 more expensive than the base all-wheel drive Pathfinder. Comparably equipped with all the same options, that Honda pilot is still $3,000 more. Absolutely crazy!
At least in Canada this Pilot doesn’t cost any more than a Palisade or Telluride.
Those two have more tech for sure. But up until 2016-2017 Hyundai produced some absolute junk! Horrible cars that catch fire and blow engines consistently. Only time will tell if current cars are better. Honda on the other hand has had a few hiccups with the 1.5T engine but otherwise has been making solid cars for decades. That’s what sells for the older crowd..
@@gs98999 yeah, Hyundai did have a bad string of engines there for a bit with the 2.4L Lambda. Kia and Hyundai V6 engines have been stellar performers. I worked in the automotive repair and recycling business from 1994 to 2011 and I watched Hyundai and Kia climb the ladder from the low-life of all vehicles to something all the others were watching carefully. That's why I didn't hesitate to purchase a Kia Sedona van in the fall of 2015. I have 192000 km on that 3.3 L Kia Sedona and no issues except for some defective drive axles which were corrected at 12000 km. In my area, the Honda pilot is about $2,700 more then a comparably equipped Palisade or Telluride and the Pathfinder is slightly cheaper than the Palisade and Telluride. I think we need an all-wheel-drive SUV before the snow falls again but I'll have a hard time convincing wifey to give up her van. It's been an extremely reliable member of the family. A lot of these mid-sized SUVs that contain the space we need as a family are coming with standard features that are pricing them a little out of our comfort zone. Incomparably equipped Sorento will cost us $10,000 less but I'm waiting to see what the 2024 redesign does.
Zach and Adrea! I hope you'll be able to add Grand Hylander to the comparison as well. There are a couple of things that I noticed when I test-drive new Pilot vs Korean twins. In Korean twins, the driver seat height can adjust more compare to the pilot. As you said, 7/9 inch screen is a big joke. I have no idea why they came up with something like that. Regarding the third-row legroom, the pilot wins on numbers. However, second-row seat rails stand way higher resulting in having tiny space to keep your foot and can't move at all. Since the second-row middle seat can't move forward, in practice I would say Korean twins and pilot has the same discomfort level.
I have a 2016 Pilot and do enjoy it. It's reliable, not exciting. This 2023 Pilot looks good but I will be looking at something else since they still have not extended hybrid tech to this vehicle.
It's a good looking SUV, styling is a little conservative. Nice looking interior.
Honda, where is the 12.3 inch screen? Bring it on 2024 model.
I like a light steering wheel, because of wrist problems
Zach and Andrea, you mentioned that this doesn't offer a digital rear view mirror, and I agree that's a bummer. But someone once mentioned that they get a bit of motion sickness using the LCD rear view mirror, presumably because there is a small delay in what you see in the mirror vs. what is really going on. Have either of you experienced that? If so, is it the case for *all* vehicles with the feature, or just particular ones? Inquiring minds want (no, need!) to know :-) Thanks again for your usual thorough review. I especially appreciate you answering questions from Instagram during the review - I think you may have a monopoly on that! (Congrats!)
I don't like them myself, but people who drive 3-row SUVs with lots of kids in the back tell me they are very helpful. I haven't found one I like yet.
Oh and really glad you enjoyed the review, the Instagram questions are so good and I feel they add a lot to our videos.
it's good you can switch between a camera and a standard mirror, that is when it is useful
I think Honda chose the 9inch screen because of the shifting market towards SUVs.
They can use the cheaper 9inch screen and still charge a high price for their SUV and thus increases their profits without having to use higher priced materials. That’s why we don’t see a full digital dash in none of their SUVs, as long as the consumer buys it then Honda probably doesn’t see a reason to have it available.
The accord isn’t moving volume like their SUVs, so they try to entice buyers by making the full digital dash and 12inch screen standard.
The difference in price between a 9” LCD panel and a 12” is nothing, $50 at most. My assumption is that Honda wanted to give more a wow factor in the Accord and an interior that will stand the test of time in the Pilot.
@@marclangman4836 while $50 may seem like nothing to us, manufacturer’s will cut cost where it seems fit. I do agree with your assertion as well.
Atlas is not larger than the Pilot as you suggest in this video. The new Pilot has more cubic volume than the Atlas and the seating arrangement is better laid out. Then there is the 4Cyl of the Atlas which is anemic.
I have 3 CRVs and a Civic EX (VTEC). The 1st is finally breaking down after 300,000mi and not the engine. Most of the suspension, needs replacing, the bushings, etc. The second is just over 200,000mi, and great. The third is at just under 100,000. I’ve handed down the cars to my sister and her children. The civic had 300,000mi, before it was stolen and parted out in Mexico. With just regular maintenance, Hondas can get an easy 300,000mi, so the little extra in price blows the Korean Brothers out of the water. I brought my newest CRV into Honda and was looking at the Pilot and was offered $10,000 trade value, but I’m giving it to my sister and taking back my first CRV; rebuilding it to a solo camper. The small screen seems to be one of the only complaint, but it doesn’t bother me, because your eyes should be on the road. I’m still going to get the Pilot, mainly because of lifespan, but it’s everything Honda that me stay loyal. I really like the Palisade, but Hyundai is not known for engine life. I feel Hyundai is getting better, but until then, Honda gets my money.
Buying any of these cars brand new is crazy given how high the prices are!!!!!!
Honestly the 2009 Pilot does not look much older than this new one. But, I thought the 2009 Pilot was unveiled in 2003 or so, but no, in 2003 Honda sold a Pilot that looked like a 1991 car.
Previous Pilot looked a bit upscale IMO, not sure why Honda gone this way
maybe to keep the traditon going with their cars looking like from a decade or two before
Thank you Honda for ditching the recent minivan design, in favour of this return to the original look! Excellent review that points out a lot of positives and negatives including that awesome colour. Give me a base model.
I kind the way Honda pilot drives but interior will not she well in 3-4 years later. I do line buttons over touch screen. So Honda keeping things buttons? Great but if they can do it like GV70 then it would look much better. It’s hard decision but would have to give my vote to Telluride.
I am really looking for the new Ridgeline!! Thank you for reviewing this!!
The interior does look rather traditional. While I'm not the biggest fan of screens everywhere, something about the way it is laid out looks last generation. I don't know. The interior's aesthetics are a weak point vs. other vehicles. Mazda is probably doing it best with the Korean twins a very close second. The Highlander is good as well in its higher level twins if a bit traditional.
The exterior of the Pilot of truckish so I guess that appeals to some. Something about the window between the C and D pillars looks off to me.
Does the horn sound like it was outsourced to fisher price like the CR-V?
I fail to understand why manufacturers favor captain seats, and why trailsport doesnt get bench seat. At least give the buyer an option to choose. I would rather seat 5 in first 2 rows with cargo at back.
Captain chairs are so 1990
I'm between this and the Toyota Grand Highlander
Finally Honda is coming up with a good blue, can you guys tell Mazda that there 20 year old blue is boring and they are the last to change, even Lexus changed to a good blue.
This blue is nice and I would get it but I know it's not for everyone. On the other hand the new blue on the Accord and CR-V are nice though. It seems like the blue on the regular trims is the same one that they have been using which I'm not a total fan of. It's decent at best.
Love your videos...We currently have a 2020 Nissan Murano S....looking to trade it in for a: Pathfinder, Subaru Ascent, or a Honda Pilot. It seems like many problems plague the Nissan and Subaru 3 row SUV"s. Leaning toward the Pilot.
Considering the sticker, the interior fit and finish just doesn't cut it.
This car is wonderful.. I loved him.. but here in Brazil don’t have.. when arrive here?
Honda the best. Hi from Ukraine 🇺🇦 ❤
I don't need a bigger screen.
It's a glorified radio.
My phone screen works fine for GPS, so I don't need bigger built into the car.
I don't need "info" while driving. I have a 2018 CRV and I just don't use the infotainment while driving except for changing the radio.
Hey I made questions! Thanks for addressing
Thanks for participating!
No Black Edition in the USA is unacceptable booooooo. Might have to go to Canada 🇨🇦
I’d like to see an updated top 5 list for both 3row mid size SUVs and large second row SUVs. 6cylinder models only.
For years they have shrunk “midsize SUVs” to compete with crossovers and mpg. And they literally lost the point of the midsize suv, second row room is what was squeezed out the most!
I’ve got a child that is growing and still has to have a car seat and has a walker and wheelchair to haul around as well with a total of 5 people in the vehicle.
The largest second row seating I found was a crew cab Ram truck, with covered bed. It actually beats out almost the entire SUV market in real cab room. But we need gas mileage, and not an underpowered turbo 4 in a midsize suv.
What I’ve been looking at is traverse/Acadia/xt6, NA v6. Audi Q7 with turbo v6, and they all get the same practical gas mileage. Telluride and this pilot look like good options also! There’s a reason the RAV4 is best selling I’m the US right now. They do get excellent gas mileage and actually have second row room, and still have reasonable cargo space. But it’s also not really my thing in it’s really too car like when you walk around, and it would be nice to have something that could still tow 5k or more. But other vehicles like explorer, xt5, Cherokee (especially Cherokee in the mid size has almost deleted their second row leg room or room between backseat and front seat. It’s ridiculous to have midsize SUVs with lack of leg room in the second row. And it’s ridiculous to have crew cab trucks that have better passenger room then SUVs.
I hope the manufacturers read this!!!
Waiting for the Highlander to arrive...
Question: here in the states many people are having issues with their 23 Kia Sportage hybrid hybrid system and other issues. Why isn't Kia making a recall and are people up there having issues with their kia's?
they are charging 61000 for this trail sport not sure whats going on cant get a grand highlander and the pilots that are around have been marked up by the dealers if you can find one. im disappointed with this situation and the owners forums sound like the first one has its issues. Guess I have to wait for things to settle out in 2024 maybe, in the GTA fyi.
Honda developed a new engine for the 2023 Pilot. They must be planning on using that engine for a number of years.
I agree. It is a compliance engine, meaning significantly less harmful emissions. I expect\hope they will stick with the V6 for several more years. It's so much better suited for a vehicle of this size than a turbo 4.
How can you call it at the ll new Honda Pilot, when it still has the timing belt ?
A V6 and a torque converter automatic? TAKE MY MONEY 😅😊
Seems Honda has gotten the driving dynamics right and some of the function. I'm not convinced the styling is enough to compete with other vehicles, especially those from Korea and Japan's Mazda. Toyota is even a bit more exciting on the interior. This is going back to the rugged truck look of the Pilot 2 generations ago.
Make sure everyone knows that the engine is new and now has a timing belt. Why would they do this?
really hope they added 12.3 inch screen from the Accord for the next Model year, also add hybrid powertrain, and get rid of fake exhaust, but too bad, Honda is probably adding these features for the mid-cycle refresh which will take at least 3 more years.
What were you thoughts on the stereo compared to the MDX? I was interested in your thoughts!
This was the time to introduce a hybrid option. I feel like that's Honda biggest issue
Honda says, it's coming for the Pilot.
@Andrea Spencer Thanks so much! One of my favorite UA-cam channels
@CarsFan Awe thank you so much!
They could have made the back look more rugged or more unique like the CRV's.
Those screen sizes are crazy. My Audi A3 has a 10 inch screen standard and wireless CarPlay. I think wireless CarPlay should be standard at this point.
The 2023 Pilot does everything well but the interior is already behind the the competitions.
Pilot over Atlas hands down!
I love it but only has 2 babies, so its 4 people and this is too big for my needs, hope they can redesign the passport. Hondas v6 is second to non and very smooth plus reliable
Honestly Honda is going more and more under. They’re charging more for their cars but their features don’t match up to their competitors. Sure, maybe a Honda premium, but ten thousand dollars more? Absolutely not. They need to lower their prices, give more features, add more powertrain options, and make the brand the one to get again.
A lot of companies need to be lower
The husband looks upset when the wife accelerate the car and their trying to hold hands hahaha
