- I flew to England just to see, hear and meet my heroes live. And they did all of my favorite songs! Including Daddy's song from the movie Head. Thank you Monkees, band and crew for coming to England! (Please visit Holland too :-) )
I was at this tour and this was my highlight. I miss Davy, Pete and Mike
man it's hard to sing and dance, and he's killing it. RIP davy, legend.
Indeed! AnD doing that in his 50's too (I think).
Priceless! Davy's passing hit me hard and the Head performance of this song still brings a lump to my throat.
This was a man in his 50s dancing and singing in tails on a lit stage with a hand-held microphone. And there are "artists" young enough to be his grandkids who can't say as much. They have to lip-sync with headset mics while they dance. Amazing man!
In this video he was 65. How he actually had breath to sing is beyond me.
@@garotadagavea This movie (Head) was made in 1968. Davy Jones was born in 1945. That means he was not quite 23 when he did this dance number.
This one of my favorite songs and I love the Head movie too. You are greatly missed Davy...dance on lad...dance on :')
Awww.. I just love this!! He did such a wonderful job dancing to this years ago, if this is the same woman as well, they did an amazing job bringing it back to life. RIP Davy. 🙏❤️
This isn’t the same woman. The dancer and choreographer was Toni Basil. I agree with you he did an amazing performance here!
@@michellejacksier5308 Is that his wife Jessica dancing with him here?
Yup
Davy was a pop song and dance man! Didn’t miss a beat, and singing at the same time! So, so missed. What an entertainer. God bless ❤️
He also plaed percussion, the drums, organ & the bass.
In the late 90's I was in the sauna in a gym in Waterlooville, Hampshire chatting with the guys when I realised that the small heavily bearded man I was chatting with was none other than Davy. I didn't even mention that I recognised him as he didn't seem to want to be noticed.
Wow! He still had it! Maybe couldn’t include all the moves he did when he was younger, but you’ve gotta give him credit. He was awesome. His wife of course was much younger and out danced him. I can’t believe he’s gone. I’ll be thinking of him and Peter when I go see Mike and Mickey on their farewell tour 2021 this Saturday. Live on Davy and Peter if only in our memories!!!
I saw Mike and Micky in Orlando. It was fantastic. While it was very sad that Davy and Peter are no longer with us, it surprisingly didn't makee me sad when I saw them. It was just the last two brothers making the most of it with "extended family".
Davy still brought it in his 60s. Amazing. Daddy’s Song performances are his best work.
Finally someone besides me sees his beautiful white teeth, and he still has the amazing dance! :D
its still so hard to believe that he is gone, i believe that he is in a better place, and singing and dancing with angels, he will always be with us in spirit through his music and his songs, im so glad that the guys are going be touring together, i know that they will do a great job celebrating davys live through this concert, it will be a wonderful concert for all those that get to go, i hope that they will upload the concert footage so that the people that wont be able to go, can enjoy too.
Jesus, Davy! Didn’t miss a beat & moved like a kid! ❤️
I just say the monkees live 8/2013 with mike and they played the video for Daddy's Song on an empty stage. The next song was daydream believer and Micky picked a member of the audience to sing it, so everyone was singing.
Brilliant and not easy. Bless the Monkeys
What a treat! I had no idea this was ever done live. Terrific.
I loved watcing this and the other vidieo's he is dancing with his wife you can just see how happy and so in love they are and how much fun they have together
I love when Davy looks up at himself
What would have gone through his mind. That HEAD sequence was absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately the sound recording of this concert clip was not the best so it is difficult to compare, and how to compare or reconcile the vibrancy of youth to our inevitable decline of older age. The take away lesson - enjoy youth while it lasts!! Davy could have been a major Broadway star if The Monkees had not happened.
This is awesome!! Glad to see it, cute that his wife was dancing with him too :)
From the 1st episode of the Monkees, September 12, 1966; I was 5 yrs. old.... I've admired you so. RIP David Thomas Jones.
Davy will be in my heart forever!❤
That was great.the song and proformance.Davy still had it.
Generous David to let her bask in a little of your light. But there is never any doubt about who was, and is the star.
大好きな曲、大好きだよテイビー❤生きていてほしかった
今でも悲しい、会いたい
Micky at the end: "What am I gonna do after THAT?"
Peter...not Micky
Maravilloso como canta y baila en vivo. Davy Jones fue un gran y talentoso artista. Lo recordaremos con alegría para siempre.
They danced beautifully together!
Yes!!!🎉😊❤
This released recording sometimes drove me to mess with my father. Since George D. Shelton ruined high school senior prom night just by when he dropped out of high school.
Wonderful!!!
Love this!!!
@romeokid69 LOL I laughed so hard. I agree whole headedlly. You know Im a cardiac nurse. What I can't understand is that with the amount of blockage that must have been present to have a cardiac arrest to that degree. There is always shortness of breath in the history. Dear Davy may have travelled recently before his infarction perhaps sending off a large clot. If I was to go. I would want to go while I still enjoying life. Every moment counts. RIP sparkly eyes you always gave it your best.
Exactly. in the stable with his beloved horses right before. I miss him too.
Davy had had a recent physical check-up, before passing, which was surprising. There wasn't anything that stood out, at his physical.
Davy rode a horse, one morning, in northern Florida. He sat in his convertible car, to drive home. And then he was gone, soon after.
☹️
NICE:D Davy is way better. He dances and sings and is funny. Plus he was a lot cleaner than JB is. LOVE you Davy
How many of you got Davy's dance partner originally TonI Basil (MIcky) mixed up with Jessica Pacheco all grown up? I did.
And this man was nearing death HOW?! It just doesn't make sense..... (On a happier note, his wife made a wonderful Toni Basil stand-in!)
It really doesn't make sense when you see how energetic he appears onstage. But if you look closely...passed the smiles...he looks like he's struggling a bit. He wasn't in the best of health at the time...wasn't taking care of himself. Such a shame 😢
@@worschtee1 I agree. And I also think his wife was not a nurturing factor in his life, sadly.
His wife was abusive to him
And she wanted to be a star so davy tried to help her career. She lived in his condo in florida and he lived on the farm with his horses. I dont know that they really saw each other that much and they definitely werent married very long.
@@pookiepookie8035 I read somewhere that after he passed, his daughters paid her off to get rid of her. Yes, she was abusive to him. I also read he was arrested for domestic violence. I can't vouch for any of this as I only read it. However, I can't picture Davy being abusive. He was always wonderful to his fans. It clearly seems like she married him to get into show business. Very sad for him.
Davy is still sexy in white.Beautiful smile he has
DAVY JONES FTW
I believe that’s David’s actual final wife who is doing the dancing
It’s definitely his final wife
So, was that Toni Basil dancing with David?
Edit: just watched it... Nope!
rip Davy Jones.
He's still so sweet & sexy
Wasn't that his wfe?
Wife
Is that Toni Basil?
No,it's his wife.
Who is he dancing with?
His wife Jessica.
You know, I had negative feelings about his wife, but seeing her dance it seems she very much admired Davy and they had good rapport. I have no idea what happened and why he passed away but RIP Davy. RIP.
Singing and dancing with his wife Jessica...
😄👍💗✝️
Is that Toni?
No, his wife at the time of the concert.
If that's Toni Basil, she's immortal.
The girl dancing with hi mis his wife Jessica. RIP Davy!
Wow his wife is a babe. Way to go Davy
👏
He looks so tired :(
I feel in his last performances that he did not look or feel very well. Not surprised he passed away sometime after this.
@icyare One big difference. Davy wasn't a DICK!!!!! Oh yeah, he is also a HELL of a lot more talented than Justin Queerver.
No comparison! Davy had talent. Period.
Poor Davy. He sounds very out of breath.
Justin Bieber: look at your future.
Whenever I see his horrible wife, I feel so bad for Davy. She treated him terribly
Who's the lady he's dancing with?
FreE994 MaN542 That was his wife.
DutchMaybird
oh, I though maybe one of his daughters
SoUtH MeMpHiS Jessica Pacheco Jones, his wife
She looks a lot like his 2nd child but i think that daughter was older here than Jessica.
That woman dances as well as she did 50 years ago. She lost nothing. Very classy.
52 years ago Davy's dancing partner in the movie Head was Toni Basil. This young woman seen here in concert was Davy's(third) wife. She was much younger than Davy.
32 years younger than Davy.
