05:37 Those kinds of chips are an excellent fire starter for when you don't have any dry kindling or non-natural fire starter products to use, but have to get a fire started.
Normally you would place some logs in a tipi tent formation around the chips, and you would place whatever other kind of kindling onto the chips that you might have.
Don't forget to find various larger stones around your camping area to form a large enough circle with the stones touching each other around the fire, this will help decrease the chances of any accidental spread of fire, but you should always keep an eye on the fire, even up to 10 minutes - or longer - after you douse it as there might still be small hidden embers that could potentially reignite the fire.
Adding to this that they'll catch easier but burn faster if you crumble them, so you could do that with some as a starter which would then catch the full chips to twigs to sticks to logs.

It is spectacular that so many of these "hacks" involve situations where you have a complicated item, but not a simple, readily available one. Stuck in the woods and need to make a fire- don't use the abundant leaves and wood all around you- use your last packet of snacks! Stuck in the dark but somehow have no torch, candles or phone flashlight- but an enormous supply of sharpies? 5 minute crafts!

Agreed. Strangely enough, I’m probably the most self conscious about my nose, so that was an absolutely lovely surprise. Kris really does stand out as one of the most personable, sweetest and professional UA-camrs.
