Kim Coates talks about the take with Bruce Willis that brought the house down.

What an episode this week. Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy, Bad Blood) joins us to talk about how he’s had to learn to slow down and get back to being himself during points in his life when his career was on the rise and he was focused on pleasing others. Coatesy shares fond memories working with Bruce Willis and Kevin Costner, but also remembers other times on set where he had to stick up for people against difficult, rude talent. We also talk about his special relationship with William Fichtner, how doing a Sons of Anarchy rewatch has made him realize the impact of the show, and what it’s like to work alongside his daughter in the new Neon Lights.

Bruce Willis’ first reaction shooting a scene with Kim Coates #insideofyou #brucewillis
Love everything about that scene. "Two fer two" Tense and unnervingly funny.
Kim is the greatest. I’ve met him some years ago in Amsterdam.
Made some instant classic photos with him and he was talking about Bruce in such a positive and detailed manner. He adores the guy.
One of the best scenes of the film, Kim does steal the scene. It’s when I first really took note of him, great call with the pool. This is a great freaking interview, Kim seems like a down to earth, knowledgeable guy. Good stuff
Kim kills it as Chet. He’s such a nice guy, and plays Chet as a complete sadistic slimeball. Lol. Chet was an awesome character
Kim's right that it's the scene that makes the movie. He also made the right call avoiding the pool as when I first saw it I thought "Oh yeah, that dude was dead before he hit the ground."
There is a reason I’m such a huge Coates fan…and that is seeing the Last Boy Scout at age 11. Unforgettable!
Bomba! Baby! Hahahaha!
Classic scene
I loved that scene in The Last Boyscout!
He's right, that is the greatest scene in the movie, which I've loved for 30 years by the way. And there are other fantastic scenes in that film, like the "Sometimes you forget I'm a detective" scene and the "Ask me how fat your wife is" scene.
Scene immediately comes to mind with _The Last Boy Scout_
Joe: _"I seemed to have dropped my cigarette. May I have another...?"_
Chet: _"Sure, man"_
Joe: [whispers] _"Touch me again and I'll kill ya..."_
What an awesome scene. Two for two !
I’d love to hear his bad boys story. “Oh yeah? Well I’m a stand up comedian. And I suck!! So I need your car!”
Still an iconic scene.....
Love that movie .
Your scene in "The Last Boy Scout" should be done in acting class, my man.
Kim Coates personifies CHARISMA!
Kim had a great line in Innocent Blood. He played a gum chewing gangster. After he got turned into a vampire, hes about to kill and he says, "I'm going to snap your neck like a chicken." then spits his gum out...😂 I loved it! It was cool to see him in Blackhawk Down too. Great Actor.
Classic scene!
i've seen the movie i don't know how many time now but yeah that's the go to scene right there!
Kim's right. No one wants that. It's cool that they were friends or are still friends. My father had Alzheimer's and its a horrible way to go out. Just sad for the individual and anyone around them.
Great death scene in "Open Range," too...
I was often fighting with other boys during elementary school, punches, kick, grabs,... and I saw this movie at 11 in videocassette as soon as it was out to rent, and this scene "traumatized" me because I learned I could _delete_ another kid if I'm not _careful_ when hitting the face and nose.
Nobody can kill somebody like that. It’s made up for the movie. But recently I’ve heard a lot of stories where someone gets hit, falls, bumps their head, and dies
2:12 LOL, someone has seen True Lies a few times. Ha ha.
The Last Boyscout was made before True Lies
Kim stole a lot of scenes in SOA. great actor
A man with balls to go though life, and to try and be a performer in movies and tv, with the name Kim, He is unique and memorable and talented. He got past the "bits of business"-phase that British actors refer to, meaning to chew gum or smoke, etc., in order to draw more attention to themselves even though it doesn't serve the character. Kim chewed gum to accent his strong jaw-line. Pacino chewed gum like a tweaker in "Heat" just to keep your eyes on him. Lots of actors do "bits of business" even after they've made it.
Wow
WHERE IS BAD BLOOD SEASON 3!!!?
Here's the Cig scene: ua-cam.com/video/ZF2dOugxDq0/v-deo.html
Kim may be one of the very few people who would ever call Bruce Willis a 'good guy'.
He’s definitely not the only one. WTF?
Not really a Bruce Willis story
2 for 2....😁
Got a cigarette?
Here the scene ua-cam.com/video/ZF2dOugxDq0/v-deo.html
Can I have a cigarette please?
Willis was ok back in the day, but some of his most recent outings/debacles????? Just don’t put yourself through it.
I feel if actors were honest (without repercussion) about the people they worked with it would reduce the amount of assholes in the business. Imagine not bothering to learn your colleagues name at least. I love Bruce Willis movies but he sounded like an ass in more than a few movies. Lose the ego it will let you do so much more afterwards.
Here is more proof why actors make the big money. It was written for Kim to be punched into the pool we all seen that many times and it is cool but expected, Kim's take is to be dead when he lands on his butt and then falls backwards and when I first seen that I said "DAMN he is dead before he hit the ground!!" it was something so unexpected and happened so fast.
