I think he's a great actor. In Sons of Anarchy when Tig opened up to Clay about killing Donna, he was poker faced, but tears streaming out of his eyes. I thought wow, that's impressive - acting with your eyes only.
Man, George is an amazing interviewer he develops his questions, and the conversations in a very disarming and intelligent way. Gives the guest space to respond and reassurance that the conversation is headed in a safe place with no traps. Never appreciated how much of Canadian media George was on when I was younger but he is the closest thing to the curator of Canadian pop-culture for millennials. Plus, my boy Coates from Saskatoon. The dude is real, and authentic in every piece he is in. Respect and admiration to both
I have to admit, Tig is my favorite character on SoA. His perverted ways just crack me up. It really helps to balance the seriousness of the show. But even when shit is on, he does a great job. Also, he was great in King of Sorrow. The movie was a bit pretentious, but that's just the outer layer. It's easy to look past. 90% of what makes the movie good is him. He's very magnetic in it.
I've been fortunate enough to meet Kim at their club house where they used to film sons and he is one of the best kind hearted celebs I have ever met he's so humble I'm gonna miss him and the show its been a great journey since 2008
I just finished the final episode today after binge watching these last few weeks. I must say...I am sooo sad now. I cried and I continue to mourn the end of a great show and all of its characters. Woe is me ;*(
i've known kim for about 30 years.Hes got friends in vancouver as well as here in kelowna, which is where his inlaws are.He is the same person you see in that interview. Its too bad he has done much in the way of comedic roles, because he really has a great sense of humor
Seen this man in untold films and series over the years. Outstanding actor, true, genuine and a talent that was overlooked for years. Since Son's of Anarchy, he has come into his own, rules and owns his character, made it his and his alone. S O A was and still is his epitaph. But lets not type cast a talent that will go along way in his acting career. He has so much more to offer.
omg....I just discovered this show on Netflix....I am on season 5 and I just can't believe there are only two more seasons after this one. I'm so gonna miss this show!!
i know right! i watched all 7 seasons like 4 months ago...i missed it so much i started watching again 3 weeks ago....just started with season 7 again...haha crazy! there will be coming a spin-off series wich stars the Mayans MC. Can't wait!
I bought the whole series from Amazon for a Covid present to myself!! I watch it all the time!! Bad thing is you know what is going to happen and hope this or that one doesn’t die when you watch it again!!😂😂😂
WaterWorld was brilliant!! Who didnt love WaterWorld?? I have been watching Kim Coates for years and loved him in every role and didnt realize who he was til SOA. AND... He is a fellow Canadian. wooyoo!!!
haha Kim as Tig and Tommy Flanagan as Chibs basically make up SOA for me, not that the other actors aren't great......but really those 2 were the first to catch my eye;) they're both dead sexy and I'm glad their actors are finally getting the recognition they deserve.
Kim Coates is one of the older guys I'll use in argument to say some guys mature very very well. Something about the piercing blue eyes and after watching season 5 episodes I have a profound respect.
I absolutely love his character Tigs and Kim Coates does such an amazing job on him... So impressed with his abilities and Kevin Costner is right he is very colorful
I even cried when Clay died. He was a very layered character. He was definitely not a saint, but neither was any of them. They were all killers. Clay was most definitely a man who was only about the bottom line.
I loved Kim in Water World. The film is full of wonderful characters, but he stood out. Then he was underused in the Travolta sci fi Battlefield Earth, which does have some fun moments. But, it's like seeing the cast of SCTV relegated to sit coms. (And I don't mean Schitt's Creek). So, happy for him, and hope he continues to do different work.
I think you misunderstood him. What he tried to say is that he does not regret mistakes. So sometimes even a mistake can turn out to be a good experience later on.
If I was gay I would have to say this guy is really really hot, his eyes are incredible and his personality is really laid back and he's 6'2" so I would guess he drives women crazy.
It's funny when heterosexual women compliment other women no one bats an eye, but when a heterosexual man does everyone says or thinks his in the closet. I'm heterosexual but when I see beauty I appreciate it no matter what sex they're. It doesn't mean I'm going to jump their bones. I find it attractive that a man is so confident in his own sexuality that he can openly say "man....this dude makes me wish I was gay!" If anything it's people who are critical of this confidence that have the real issue. Maybe they need to re evaluate their own sexuality ;-)
Shout out to his wife Diana. I graduated from high school with her in 1977. Time sure flies. I was also in drama classes with Kim at The University of Saskatchewan.
Happy Birthday Kim Coates. Black Hawk Down and Bad Boys is awesome. May the Peace be with u. From Harlingen Texas. February 21, 1958 February 21, 2021 though February 21, 3021
I'm proud that he's proud to be Canadian. There are a few Canadians in Hollywood who are embarrassed to be Canadian & put Canada down constantly. I love that he's "Canadian throughout & through".
What a cool, humble guy. It's amazing how some of these actors can play bad guys or crazy people that do horrible things and actually pull it off when they seem so likable /down-to-earth in person. Where do they pull it from? :)
he was also in "The Last Boyscout" with Bruce Willis, "Bad Boys" with Will & Martin, He has played in alot of movies. That is one of the things I love about this show, alot of the actors are seasoned veterns, just have never had big roles like this. Boone was in "2 Fast 2 Furious" Batman Begins" Tommy Flannigan was in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. and "Sin City" The guy who played O'Neal in season 3 was also in "Sin City". Ryan Hurst was in "remember the titians" and the list goes on.
Since S.O.A I can't get enough of these guys and can't accept that show it's over ....
Have you watched Bad Blood. Kim Coates is awesome in that series.
Same 😫😫
thecobaltroom me too
Years ago and here I am... still in love with him
I watch SOA twice a yr all the way through. I skip the last episode though.
I think he's a great actor. In Sons of Anarchy when Tig opened up to Clay about killing Donna, he was poker faced, but tears streaming out of his eyes. I thought wow, that's impressive - acting with your eyes only.
Lol you mean when he told Opie. Clay already knew he killed Donna cause it was his order
Wyatt Davis No when he talked to Clay about it soon after, he was feeling guilty about it and was crying. When he told Opie that was later.
Timothy Cole yeah he is a great actor
its the same scene that got me here,, wanted to dig in more about him..its a shame so many talented actors go unnoticed.

Kim Coates is unbelievable, I just finished watching the entire show and his performance was amazing.
absolutely
Extremely natural.

The minute Tig adopted that pitbull dog... the minute he cemented a place in my heart
He looks a bit like a husky. With his blue piercing eyes, mad eyebrows, dark hair and nice, long body. I love this man.
Lunar Aurora yeah me too 🥵
Kim Coates is one of the GREATEST character actors ever. He’s in EVERY film. Don’t forget Resident Evil as well.
Man, George is an amazing interviewer he develops his questions, and the conversations in a very disarming and intelligent way. 27 Years married...says alot about this beautiful man! Love ya Tiggy!
From the first time I saw him in 'The Last Boy Scout' knew he was going places. One of the best bad guys ever.
Glad to see someone else mention The Last Boy Scout! Underrated flick.
This si the BEST and most NATURAL interview show I have seen in YEARs --- WAY TO GO!!
This man needs to be in more movies.
A great actor, I love Kim Coates.
YOU ARE GAY
Daniel Gurule I dislike him and his faux effeminate XX commercials!
I met this guy last year. He's probably one of the nicest actors I've ever met, along with Ron Pearlman.
+SoManyNarwhals I've heard that pretty much the whole cast are nice people.
one of my favourite actors in sons of anarchy for sure, such a believable character, tig can always get ya right in the feels
I've been fortunate enough to meet Kim at their club house where they used to film sons and he is one of the best kind hearted celebs I have ever met he's so humble I'm gonna miss him and the show its been a great journey since 2008
His famous line from S.O.A. will be his legend. Tig: "I've seen Smokey and the Bandit a thousand times, love that movie!"
He's an amazing actor and canadian too, love his intense character's and his passion to making it all look so easy and real.xoxox
Love him on S.O.A...he cracks me and mortifies me too ;-}
I just finished the final episode today after binge watching these last few weeks. I must say...I am sooo sad now. I cried and I continue to mourn the end of a great show and all of its characters.
Woe is me ;*(
Diane -di omg I binge watched the whole SOA series in like 2 weeks! I hated that it’s over!
When I finished my binge, I felt the loss of the end... so next day started it again
I find him very attractive
NAW,,U FINE THO!
thanx! ^_^
:)
He's smart. That's attractive to a lot of people.

A brilliant actor...with a huge emotional talent....his diversity will hopefully ensure his work for years
He was so underrated on SOA. Loved all of his scenes

Were was his father from? The reason I am asking is because my father was a Coates from Newfoundland.
His Canadian inflection really came through in this interview. Love it!
Wow, was really shocked when I learned he is from my hometown of Saskatoon. Had no idea he was Canadian!
The best ! we are
Tig is an awesome character, im so glad he didnt get wasted, he was so close many times to being taking out!
One of my fav characters hands down . So funny and serious
The Man is an acting juggernaut! Brings so much to a character! Even the boat guy in Water World was fantastic!
Seen this man in untold films and series over the years. Outstanding actor, true, genuine and a talent that was overlooked for years. One of the fav actors. Totally commits himself to every role.
Great actor, beautiful eyes!
I ran into Kim at the airport the day after the SoA finale aired. Awesome guy, very humble and appreciative.
This guy is hilarious! Great Canadian actor!
Love Kim Coates! He is fuckin brilliant and hilarious! When I'm feelin blah, I watch this interview, he makes me laugh and then I feel better!

I LOOOOVEEEEEEEE THIS GUYYYY ❤ OMG I LOVE HIM ❤ FAV. CARACTER FROM SONS OF ANARCHY !!!!!!!
my favorite character in SOA
Loved him on sons. He was really funny in the morgue. Likes the cold pack.
Chibbs and Tig are my SOA favs -- I wept when Opie and even CLAY died (his ONLY mistake in MY eyes was abusing Gemma)....KIM is HOT!!!
+AppleTinii OxyC lol so trying to kill the wife of his son isnt a mistake or doing the home invasions lol dumbest comment ever lol
I even cried when Clay died. He was a very layered character. He was definitely not a saint, but neither was any of them. They were all killers. Clay was most definitely a man who was only about the bottom line.
This is the first time I've ever seen Kim Coates out of character(s). He's very nice, smart and engaging. 👍
A definite high point in my life was getting to meet Kim at Texas Frightmare Weekend. Im a fan!
can you believe this guy does not have a star on the Canadian walk of fame
I loved Kim in Water World. The film is full of wonderful characters, but he stood out. Then he was underused in the Travolta sci fi Battlefield Earth, which does have some fun moments. But, it's like seeing the cast of SCTV relegated to sit coms. (And I don't mean Schitt's Creek). So, happy for him, and hope he continues to do different work.
Kim Coates is an absolute beauty. Plus he reps our Province so well and is such a nice, down to earth human being.
I love how he says "I have no regrets about any of the role choices I've made..." until they get to Pearl Harbor. "Oh, what a mistake." Haha!
I think you misunderstood him. What he tried to say is that he does not regret mistakes. So sometimes even a mistake can turn out to be a good experience later on.
andionline I think you misunderstood me my friend. It was a joke in jest. Don't take everything so seriously. You'll live longer.
Take it easy ;-) I had exactly the same thought in mind as you, that's why I responded.
Very likable & talented. I'm happy for this guy. Love SOA
Thee Nicest Celebrity I've ever met! This Guy is ALL kinds of Awesome! Can't say enough good things about him!
Mister Kim Coates wow.....just handsome as ever. Baby's got blues eye. Love how you talk about your family. Crying monster ink. LOL!
Unbelievable actress.. starred on Goon 1&2, Sons Of Anarchy & Godless. Dude should win an oscar
He's fantastic. Great interview.
If I was gay I would have to say this guy is really really hot, his eyes are incredible and his personality is really laid back and he's 6'2" so I would guess he drives women crazy.
Ka Boom Jean Claude Van Damme is 5'10" and he still drives women crazy! Its really more about the person's personality.
Ka Boom you probably are gay if you making a comment like that..
+Ka Boom I'm gay and he is one of my dream guys. Him and Perlman. Oh yeah

If there will ever be a remake of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly he should play Angel Eyes.
