Legend has it that dude is still doing burpees
I actually thought my rig was too tight until I watched this. Really great advice.
Glad we cleared it up! Enjoy!
When I put my carrier on it looks like a deck of cards on the hood of a pickup truck.
Damn those Tortillas.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😘
Just get the 11x14 plates lol
😂😂😂
Whoever did that guys tattoos did an amazing job. They healed so well amd you can very clearly tell what you're looking at
3:09 thank me later
Thank you.
Jackal 1 thankkkk
What? I don't see anything.
thank you... I was beginning to think this wasn't about carrier fitment at all lol
Thanks you.
*Light Armor Skill Increased by 1*
I'll see myself out.

''Im friendly, Im friendly !''
DayZ referance
hey guys thank you so much all the advice, I own a banshee from shell back tactical and its awesome but I am new in all the culture about plate carriers and I learn a lot from your videos
Watching this today, and made me review my plate carrier fitments if anything. Thank you.
Thanks from us new to body armor. Thanks for the basics!
Thanks for sharing!
Solid review
Are the tats required?
of course, they make you tactically more operaterly
Ya it’s like war paint
Love God Love your products. Ar 500 rocks
Thanks guys
Thanks for the video. I'm headed to a surplus store tommorow for a carrier for a villain costume. Now I know how to buy!
Amazing company.
One of the best plate carrier.. I love the material of this plate carrier.. I'm sad because they discontinue this model..
You guys need to watch the tactical rifleman channel on UA-cam. Great information
So, 8x10, 10x12, and 11x14, does that equate to small, medium and large respectively?
I really appreciated your video thank you because I am in the process of getting my carrier together as a matter of fact my plates are supposed to be coming today and I ordered them from ar500.
great vid well done guys
Great video.......I need to do more research before I commit to a purchase.
Thanks for the video guys!
The expended mag goes into the pouch, except in the opposite direction. No rattling and you know which mag is full or empty.
Eyes open no fear good luck! Precision and accuracy is you best choice, no be too heavy, because you be come a easy target.
Excellent advice.
1:06 We just tuck in the strap inside the punch.
Jarhead6 "Punch". Nice to see you brother.
Fabian Gonzalez-Cortes rahhh! Stay tune man! We have a lot of videos coming up in the channel.
Sameeeee brothas
Jarhead6 i
Thought the same thing lol, just seems like basic knowledge but guess not. Rah.
Is the Banshee quick release the same as the quick release of the quick release carrier? Trying to understand why the Banshee is so much more than the quick relase carrier. I like the quick release carrier because I love how easy it is to remove in an emergency. What is the difference between the two carriers?
Damn, I was wondering how many burpees you were going to make him do.
Great info.. New to military. ..😁😁
My plan is to consider getting one of these once I've lost enough weight.
might be a stupid question, but do you currently have the plates in place or are you wearing it as a tact vest for the demonstration?
i love jeff simple set up can you give me more info on your sling for your AR looks so clean
Great video. Very informative.
He was gonna do those burpee’s until he passed out. Dedication
i just got a Gen 2 Testudo with the level 3+ , 10x12 flat plates . being ignorant of just what exactly i was ordering i find that the plates are a bit more than i want to carry . as such they are still in the factory shipping bags and i will have to purchase different plates . i missed my return window so i'm stuck with the original ordered plates . no matter , i'm sure i can find a buyer . i know some guys . great video . helped me a lot .
What’s wrong with those plates? I was trying to get the same.
@@sehajpalrandhawa9477 nothing " wrong " with them . just too heavy for me . i bought some lighter weight plates from the same company .
I'm highly considering getting some body armor. I'm left handed but shoot rifles in a right handed stance, so should I get my plate carrier in right or left handed orientation?
What kind of frost responder training do you offer and what dose it cost
What the best way to put the carrier on and off ?
I think a lot of people would shake their heads at my rigs. The largest one is set up for camping, I actually have an integrated back pack along with side pouches that are tear away for fire starting, water, medical and food. I though it would be something different than a standard backpack itself. Along with the plates in it it would not be called streamlined but hey it is a camping rig not a low drag high speed reconnaissance set up.
How do the taco pouches fit 47 style mags?
@ AR500: Thanks for the video, guys! Got a question for you. Is it possible to set up a chest rig or variant of it that allows you to go prone well? This seems to be a drawback of the chest rig system as compared to some of the old-school load-bearing equipment, which shifted as much as possible to your sides and back. Folks who are already stocky are going to look like the Michelin Man by the time they get geared up with a full-blown chest rig. Any ideas?
What plates do you use I have steel and the weight about kills my neck and back
Ty for the info and the video. Im looking at getting mt first plate carrier and it can be kinda overwhelming with the many choices and options. Also to many negatives on fitment and functionality
I just got my Banshee Carrier in Wolf grey i did an unboxing next ill review it.
I want one!
Good info thank guys, just got mine trying to set it up.👍
So I’m a newbie to these, I really am looking to get a plate carrier with good coverage, but I feel like half of them are like this and go above the belly button. Are there any that maybe have an inch or two split from your belt to the bottom of the plate? I understand you really just want to cover center mass, but I’d also like it to extend it for coverage of more internal organs/spine for ventral and/or dorsal hits respectively. Kind of like what you see officers wearing, it seems to go way lower than normal plate carriers. Is that because it’s soft armor or not plated all the way down? Thank you in advance!
how tall should the plate carriers be? cause i have one and it seems to small. the back goes to the middle of my back. and i look at military pictures and they go down to their belts. please help.
Late to the conversation, but I’m 6’3” & 250lbs and have a carrier with 10x12 plates. It looks so small on me. Am I better off with a 11x14??
welcome to Phoenix!
I didnt realize they were in phoenix until i seen this comment, looks like next payday ill be giving their shop a visit and getting me a new carrier!
That's awesome! I can't think of the last time I've find a company online and then actually had them located in the valley. I'll definitely have to check the shop out.
Where in phx?
AR500 Armor is located at 17431 N Black Canyon Hwy Phoenix, AZ 85023
I would like to see shoulder armor like in South America . Also groin area protection like in the new marine expeditionary forces battalions have . A Roman gladiator style skirt would do better for which I’m working on a design for an alternative company 😉
mrthunderbird5 Lmk bout the skirt
I’m debating whether to purchase a plate carrier, I retired from the Army in 2004, just for home defense during these crazy times, how much is the setup that had the slimmer profile, thanks SGT
DWRUTSGNT check out Spiritus Systems Overt plate carrier. I run that with AR500s armor. I also use mines for home defense/ working out. OEF 11-12 here, stay safe brother
What watch does the guy in the green shirt have on?
where can I buy one of those
I wanna buy the model on the left. Link please
I have a carrier and it feels like it hangs down way to low in the back…. The chest is perfect, but the back hangs down way low and is uncomfortable….. when I tighten the shoulder straps to try and bring the back up, it also brings the front up and it chokes me…. So what to do?
Wouldn't a larger 11x14 plate work better for a big guy like Matt? I only ever see people running the smaller plates and have had this question for quite a while. I have a long torso.
It all depends on the type of coverage you are looking for. Smaller plates may not cover much beyond the chest, but they allow for a greater range of motion and equal less weight that needs to be carried. There is a lot to be said for the light and fast concept of wearing smaller plates depending on your need for speed of action.
Where can I find your medical kits
I have the Banshee plate carrier and was wondering if you use a curved plate on the back as well as the front and which size are you using.
DM Dave We designed our curved plate for use as a front or back plate, most prefer curved for both. At a minimum we recommend a curved up front for everyone. That said, if you choose and find it doesn't quite work for you, we'll make sure you end up with a setup that your happy with.
AR500 Armor I was wondering the same thing, I figured I'd run a curved front plate and a straight back plate. Great video btw, there are alot of people who wear the carrier way too low.
pjsteels We prefer running curved both front and back.
Is a curved plate the same width as a straight plate?
I don't mean if you ran a tape measure from side to side, I mean if laid it on a ruler would it cover the same distance.
DM Dave Yes, when the plates are cut the crew from AR500 Armor accounts for the difference between straight and curved and so if you laid both down on a ruler they would measure the same.
3:45 I'm so fat that I can't breathe no matter how I wear it :)
Great tutorial
How can you draw your hand gun with that big First Aid pouch in the way !
How do i get the side pieces flat against my waist
the protection doesn't seems to cover enough the lower part of the belly. what if you take an AK bullet just under a 10x12" armor plate ? This area is componed of the stomach and intestines. it would be an instant incapacitation. If the carrier/plates would be 2 inches longer it would not block that much mobility and would give much better protection.
xenomorphelv426
Hits in the intestines are not as bad as hits in the solar plexus, heart, lungs, etc. The vitals are more important
xenomorphelv426
I believe it is not as bad as one in the vitals
Unpleasant yes, but survivable and manageable compared to the former
You can actually buy abdominal extension plate carriers for just that reason. But it may impede movement especially when bending over to pick something up. No free lunch
Seek Jesus And Repent Of You’re Sins And Be Baptized In Water And Spirit.
5:08 dude on the right is like "burpees? Yeah, no."
What's the price for the setup that Matt has on?
I just bought one, I’d like to see you just put one on and take it off. It’s very hard for me to get it on and off.
how do i know what size to get? I'm 5 feet 9 inches and weigh 160.
What is the Armor plate type bullet proof vest , that protects the front & the back , & price range - $ 80. - $ 120. & size XXL , would be called full name of the vest , if s/o would want to buy , that can stop a bullet . ? .
What kinda watch is Matt wearing?
Where can I get it?
Thank you for this,i am new to this stuff and this video helped me alot.
Glad it helped!
Well done,thanks
Great class guys, reminds me of my earlier days, back when life was simpler, and enemies were . . . well, normal (for lack of a better word). I especially enjoyed the burpies.
Am I out of shape or do these armor carriers wear your shoulders pretty quickly?
What type of sling is the guy in the white tshirt using
Wow, I totally disagree. Try working prone with mags in the front. Try crawling prone. Try laying prone for over 30 minutes. I suggest people leaving everything off the front minus a Tourniquet but with 3 mags inside the front pocket or under the right armpit behind your med kit. This info from a former Marine with 0311 with 3 tours downrange. If you don't have a gun belt, you are missing out. The vest really should be your secondary supply backup. Lighter is much better.
Thanks for the info!
Yeah but how do you know if a 10x12 STEEL plate will fit a plate carrier?
Measure it 🤷
I just received my urban go plate carrier and plates. says it's one size fits all but its to big on me. its tighten all the way but still feels really loose. how should I go about fixing this issue I have?
all u can eat buffet
What type of carrier is that
I have my med kit on my right side at back of cummerbund and I can’t necessarily reach it with both hands. It’s highly recommended that both hands can fully access the kit for obvious reason. My kit is phaaatt and doesn’t work well really any other spot. It gets in the way easily if else where. Maybe someone can give me some tips if possible. And due to the positioning it’s currently in, I ended up putting a slim ifak in the admin pocket that can be easily reached by any hand. What would some suggestions be. Or should I keep what I have for now. PC is banshee 2.0 by shellback and the hunk of a ifak is the bearfak 3.0 from refuge medical. The kit in my admin slot is the same company and it’s their poc-kit
Also I currently have nothing else attached to the PC so any spot is technically open for now
Excellent question JP. A great option to keep your med kit concentric is by mounting it to an ABS pouch below your magazines. Here is a link: www.ar500armor.com/abdominal-pouch.html
Most don't plan on being shot from any direction it happens
Do you know Emerson Gear?If you interest in it,you can contact with me.
Having the plate carrier high upon the chest, does bending over cause the plate to hit the throat?
Yes
How to order
I need armor to protect my stomach! Not just only my chest!
We don't make any single plates that extend down to the stomach area, but we do have an abdominal plate that can be added onto your carrier with an extra pouch:
www.ar500armor.com/abdominal-pouch.html
www.ar500armor.com/abdominal-armor.html
if hit too hard can stop your heart so iike have a jell pack in back of my plate to take the shock if you got land on the ground hard the jell take it cant hurt you to have it
j lin you mean trauma pads? Yea dude there common place to wear under your plates.
How do I know what size plate carrier to get?
KingDes2011 Size?
When i placed my Ar500 order on a Banshee rig, size was NOT offered.
KingDes2011 one size fits all brother
where is this store? looks like the burbs in the PHX area
Nah, it's Walmart.
Tucson...I believe
yo that dudes 50 cal linked tat is dope
Looks more like a .338 link
Raihan Purboyo I think .22 lr
I'm interesting of one
Need where buy
Can you still purchase Body Armor with a 5150 in California?
Can someone let me know why these plate carriers/ body armour types never really protect anything close to your lower (front) neck?
your neck is a much smaller target , than say your chest , changes are its gonna get ur face and not your neck ! what protects your face ?? its not sold as life saving device its a tool to minimize the chance of fatal impacts via the biggest portion of the kill zone !!
however if you do wanna spend lots more there is plate carrier with neck protection! again your head is entirely exposed still !
For someone 6"5 and 175lbs would you suggest the M/L?
I wear the medium plate size and I am 5'9 about 155. It's damn close to perfect. You are bigger it sounds like then I am so it would seem that L would be your best bet.
Metzger what did you go with? I’m 6’3 and 170 so not far off at all.
The med kit should be placed somewhere else not on the right side under your arm. Mess with your aiming and movement holding your ar15. But that's just me.
Banshee? That looks like the Veritas. I don’t see a banshee on their site.
This one is from 2014, we no longer sell the banshee, we have been focusing on fleshing out our own products :)
Question, I have ar500 plates in my Ciras plate carrier, but the plates like to jump around and are not quite secure. How could I fix this issue?
Travis Cannoles What size is your CIRAS? i tend to notice AR500 plates fit odd in most carriers.
steviebleckley I'm honestly not sure, I believe it's a large or XL. I think if I put some soft padding behind the plates it will snug it up a little bit.
What AR magazine holder is matt using?
HSGI taco mag pouches. They're great!
