They actually do Boondock's
Yes, kind of as it is a mash up of Boondocks and the greatest country song of all time, Fishin in the Dark.
In my opinion, Home Free is the best thing in Country right now. They branch of and do some pop, but they put a country twist too it.
Nate Eller Agreed! Awesome group!
Hoping to hear more reactions, maybe to their music videos.
My favourite of theirs are Do You Hear What I Hear and Man Of Constant Sorrow. Wink wink!
Always one of my favorite Eagles song. Because of the harmony. And home free kill this one.
Yes! Another reactor listens to Home Free! They're so amazing. And they have some really great originals to go along with their covers, plus some great mash-ups. Blue Ain't Your Color, Woman Amen/Female, Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks, Elvira (great video with the Oak Ridge Boys), This is How We Roll, Ring of Fire. And some originals are Timeless, Champagne Taste, Any Way the Wind Blows, Summer in the Country, Full of Cheer. I hope you enjoy them. They're all incredibly talented.
These dudes have blown up like Chris Stapleton!!
Yay!!! When you consider that they are singing a cappella, they are just amazing. It's fun to watch and see who is making what sounds. Adam has them all beat boxing in a couple of songs. These fellows are all very talented. Their arrangements of Do You Hear What I Hear, I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas, Man of Constant Sorrow, Finally Free and several other show off some on these "instrument" sounds these guys make that sound like instruments. This is actually one of my least favorite songs that they sing and it's a "favorite" song. The video has a faster tempo than when they sang it on stage. I like it slower. LOL They just sing everything so well, that you just can't not like it. And I don't usually listen to country music unless in makes the cross over to rock stations... Thank you! ^_^
Hi Karen! You're welcome, and I'm glad you liked it (and them) so much! I'l be getting to more of their stuff, and will react to their live versions so we can see them as well as hear them. :-)
Looking forward to see you react to a live performance. Because live they just blow you away: especially the rythmsection
Gotta watch this, HomeFry Diehard here ! I promise you that if you watch a full concert is so much 💯💥💞🤪, Such great humor, humble, strong, truly love their fans back
Please react to Home Free's "In The Blood" It's John Meyer done country sounds soo good. Now that I'm thinking about it, hey have also done a mashup of "Fishin' in The Dark/ Down In The Boondocks" that is good too. I never cared for Country until Home Free got me turned on to it. They do it Acapella too, without instruments, they have a beatboxer and the Bass that does the instrumentation and it's so unique and I love it!
So glad you enjoyed this!! They put their own spin on their covers. I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of their songs. Thanks for reacting!!
You're welcome, Julie!!
Thanks! Home Fries (fans of HF) are happy. They are incredible! You need to keep looking up their many videos and even live performances. You'll keep finding more and more and more that you love.
Thanks for the Home Free!!! Please keep em coming. You will always enjoy it!
it's a road leading out of Montgomery, Alabama which has 7 bridges..
Great reaction to Home Free thanks for doing it. They have an actual video to this song and 100's of others. Amazing country Accapella!
Watch the video , no instruments just beat box
Thank you! They do a great cover of Trace Adkin's song: 'I Can't Outrun You.'
Well you just made my wife's day! We just saw them in concert a couple weeks ago.
SHG, I'm glad your wife liked it so much! And on the heels of seeing them live I'm sure that added to the fun.
Hey I have seen you did a reaction to Blake Shelton's Hillbilly Bone May I suggest Home Free's version and their cover of Man of constant sorrow
Yes! This!
I love when someone finds Home Free for the 1st time. I would recommend Mayday or I Can't Outrun You
They are like potato chips, can’t stop with just one! You have a lot of great listening in store!
Southern Rock n Roller here from way back, and I rediscovered southern rock when I went over to country. This is Southern US through and through. Anything by these guys is fantastic. Since you mentioned Little Big Town, try Boondocks/Fishin' in the Dark mix. Fantastic.
Got to check out their version of “Helplessly Hoping “. It will knock your socks off!
On the list now--thank you!!
Seven bridges road is located in North Carolina/South Carolina. I’ve driven it quite a few times. It’s Fairly isolated and runs through a swampy section-thus moss in the trees.
Thank you for reacting to these guys....they are my favorite group out there. You should react to "California County" it is an original song written by their high tenor Austin Brown.
Really awesome harmonies here Don - you know how I like the harmonies !! reminds me of C, S an Nash, Eagles, Alabama and the Byrds - but did you hear that bass singer workin right in with the tenor voices - wow - just amazing - good rating and reaction from you as always - made my day for sure!! I have a gig tomorrow night down here so looin forward to it as good harmonies in band =will be in my element as you can imagine - but country belongs to the States and their harmonies are so superiour to everyone elses === just my opinion though== =one cant fault so many of these great US bands - what I would give for a song with one of them - wow that would be so good - hope you got settled with your new place and all well - Happy Ho Ho Ho to you pal xx
Thank yo, C-Mac, and Merry Christmas to you, too!! Although I think you say "Happy Christmas," so Happy Christmas!! It's been a lot of fun getting to know you this past year, and I look forward to meeting you one day if we should be so fortunate to ross each others' path!!
Thanks so much for this Home Free reaction; they are Super Talented a cappella vocal band! Please keep Home Free reactions coming!!✌🏻😍
Hey Donna, your wish is my command, at least on this one. Ha! More Home Free is in the works. :-)
Funny you mention that...they did a cover of "Helplessly Hoping" :) They have also covered many songs with the original artists, like "American Pie", "Elvira", "One Voice", "God Bless the USA" etc....and many originals as well...but they do a lot of country, soul, R&B and serious and funny songs. Check out "Butts Medley", Champagne taste on a Beer Budget, Country Fried Pop Medley and more. Man of Constant sorry and How Great thou Art are 2 that introduce most to the groups talents. Austin (high tenor) has a solo channel where he covers a lot of songs as well, and him and Tim Foust (bass) do a great cover of "My Maria". Everything they do is gold...they not only cover, but upgrade just about every song they do.
It’s in Montgomery, Alabama, and was originally written and sung by Steve Young in 1969. Source: Wikipedia.
Ring of fire shows off their bass singer
Keep Home Free coming - you’ll be a Home Fry in no time!
No instruments. Just a world class beat boxer.
Hello Don, if I may - Number One: I'm surprised you didn't recognize the title (a big hit for the Eagles). Two: It's cool you don't want to watch a video, in order to listen more closely but as one watching your reaction, the video is fun for us as you listen. Three: With so many titles in the Home Free list, I'm surprised you didn't recognize many other titles (Ring of Fire, Elvira, Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks - thanks tierneybeckett) and choose one of those as your first look. Your rating is nice, but this is far from a favorite to the many Home Fry fans throughout the world, me included. They have grown so much since this album was released. Thanks for listening to me rant - I hope to see many more Home Free Reactions soon. Chuck in NE Kansas
Hey Chuck, welcome aboard! I wasn't an Eagles fan growing up so I don't know their stuff very well, which is why I didn't recognize the title. And I'll react to their videos from here forward, so that one is covered. And IIRC the reason I did this song is because it was either requested or it was on an album whose title I liked (Country Evolution). In any case, I like doing things I know as well as don't know, and this was one of the ones I didn't know anything about so I went with it. More to come of their stuff, so hang in there!!
I don't think you mentioned that they are A Cappella, for the people who don't know who they are. It makes a difference when you realize there aren't any instruments. Thank you for doing HF. They have alot of fans out here that can't get enough of them...me included.
😊 Insatiable Fries 😊
Ring of fire by Home Free
This is the first time I have seen your reactions... Home Free is fantastic.. Thanks for reacting to them... They are country based but branch into other genres with their country base..
Welcome aboard, Mellow Marsha---glad to have you here!!
It does help to watch the video when listening to Home Free. It helps you pick up little nuances in their music.
Hey Nate, yeah, my next reaction will be to their live stuff, and I'm looking forward to reacting to the visuals of how they perform.
@@RockN2Country I would not hesitate to react to their music videos also. I have not heard of anyone having copyright issues....perhaps their management realized that allowing people to react to the videos is free advertisement!
If you are considering reacting to a lot of their videos (and you should!) I would recommend checking out their journey on the show The Sing Off on the channel "mrduckbear11". It is a great intro to their story...and make sure to include the judges comments in your reaction.
Looking forward to more Home Free reactions on your channel!
I do not know if you see comments on your older reactions. I have been binging on your reactions all day today. And quite enjoying myself. Like you I am an old rocker (well still am, am 66 and have 191 live shows under my belt dating back to 1970, 13 days before my 13th birthday). My music taste are eclectic to say the least, from Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger to Grand Funk Railroad and Deep Purple to Hank, Willie and Merle and all of the Blues greats. I have been dealing with serious health issue, since 2019 and have used music and reaction videos as my escape mechanism. We saw Home Free in Stafford, TX back in December of '22 and they are fantastic.
One of the great things about UA-cam is discovering under-known artists that are self promoted with great talent. As you have seen yourself in Blackberry Smoke, Home Free, Lukas Nelson, and Kiefer Sutherland to name a few. Here's a few for you to look up.
The Rainbow Girls (country folk rock, "A gang of sweet angels punching you in the heart.") "Lodi" (CCR Cover) ua-cam.com/video/rM11mm6ByQY/v-deo.html
Mean Mary (an americana, bluegrass, blues, folk artist from Nashville - a pure delight on the banjo) "Iron Horse" ua-cam.com/video/6CNB5OLUPM0/v-deo.html
Larkin Poe [Rebecca Lovell (born January 30, 1991) and Megan Lovell (born May 12, 1989). Featuring strong southern harmonies, heavy electric guitar riffs, and slide guitar, they are often touted as "the little sisters of the Allman Brothers") "Southern Comfort" ua-cam.com/video/feAmhGyaY8o/v-deo.html
Brother Dege (his songs are swamp grass, Bayou blues, and eerie Louisiana voodoo all rolled into one. His steel resonator joins slide guitar and harmonica in a raw, dirty, and Cajun coalition of outlaw country and grungy blues. The humid and haunted sound of the LaFayette musician oozes up like pluff mud in a slow, heavy, and trancelike stupor that at any moment could suck you back under.) "To Old to Die Young" ua-cam.com/video/f8VoSM0VrQU/v-deo.html
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats (folk, Americana and vintage rhythm & blues.) "S.O.B." ua-cam.com/video/1iAYhQsQhSY/v-deo.html
Billy Strings (bluegrass and folk, his guitar speaks to his namesake) "Away from the Mire" ua-cam.com/video/3r8musR01as/v-deo.html
Tyler Childress (country folk) "Whitehouse Road" ua-cam.com/video/oOIJecsnaWg/v-deo.html
Avi Kaplan (folk country, the former bass for the acapella group Pentatonix) "Change on the Rise" ua-cam.com/video/382BTxLNrow/v-deo.html
Last but definitely not least - the elder of the list.
Chip Taylor [born James Wesley Voight; March 21, 1940) is an American songwriter and singer noted for writing "Angel of the Morning" and "Wild Thing" - yes Jon Voight's brother and Angelina Jolie's uncle. In 2007, Taylor launched his own independent label, Train Wreck Records. And subsequently made several albums - solo and with his band Chip Taylor & The New Ukrainians - "A New Song of Freedom" ua-cam.com/video/EZbAL6MsRgs/v-deo.html
Keep on doing what you're doing, I love it and will be sharing your reactions on my FB page.
Seven Bridges Road, it is said, is just outside Montgomery, Alabama.
they also have done helplessly hoping by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Its pretty amazing
There is absolutely no experience like seeing Home Free live, they are truly that amazing. It’s good you’re using headphones. I’d suggest listening to “Ring of Fire” for quite the treat. Also, search UA-cam for “Adam Rupp drum solo” and be amazed.
Thanks, Michael--"Ring Of Fire" is a great song as Johnny sings it, so I imagine Home Free would do a nice job with it. Thanks for the rec.
You should watch the video as well. It is awesome
I'm on it!! :-)
I am a new sub. I am what you call and Home fri that is the fans of home free and there is alot alot of us and we are always looking for new people reacting to home free and i know you have alot of requests already but you should check out home frees cover of ring of fire and they do a mash up of fishing in the dark/boondocks. well thank you for reacting to this song oh if you really like harmonies you should check out hf how great thou art.
There is a seven bridges rd in Lamar SC
🤩🤩🤩 yippee!!! Finally did a Home Free song.
Check out Home Free -Elvira with the Oak Ridge Boys and Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers
I had to after all of the requests, including yours--ha!!! :-)
The lore of this song is that the road actually exists outside Montgomery, Ala.
I love that kind of stuff. It's like Wagon Wheel "heading west from the Cumberland Gap, to Johnson City, Tennessee"--you can't got west and end up in Johnson City. The songwriter eventually told the media when he was asked about it that he just made a mistake because he didn't look it up. Ha!
Hard to believe you didn't know this was an Eagles song. Has to do with a road in Montgomery, Alabama which has seven bridges. Thanks for the reaction.
@VET1968 I was never a huge Eagles fan, so their catalog is mostly lost on me. There are a few songs I like a lot, one of which I might do here at some point---"The Last Resort." What a moving, deep song.
Try Home Free Helplessly Hoping cover of a Crosby, Stills and Nash song
Steve Young was inspired to write "Seven Bridges Road" during a sojourn in Montgomery, Alabama, in the early 1960s: according to Young "a group of friends...showed me [a] road [that] led out of town...After you had crossed seven bridges you found yourself out in the country on a dirt road.
wow I got a shoutout my first... Love Home Free!
Glad I could be of service, Mickey!!
They're even better if you watch them in video. Just cool guys to watch and listen! Thanks for this.
You're welcome, Connie! And future Home Free reactions will be to vids.
Thanks! Do more Home Free! You can't go wrong with any of their covers and originals.
The Eagles don't like when people do covers of their music, so they were "angry" at Home Free, but it's a cover, so I say that they can't really complain.
Just now finding your channel...hope you got to watch the video for this and an absolute must for you is Man of Constant Sorrow...it was the first one I watched and had to see it a couple times before I sorta believed there were no instruments!.
It's always hard to remember that this is a cappella. No instruments besides these incredibly talented human voices.
They have a great video of this one 💖‼️💖
They used to be : Crosby, Still, Nash, & Young !!!....LOLOL
was written about Woodley Road in Montgomery, Alabama.
Rockn2country, thank for checking out Home Free, they are incredible! I’ve heard you say you like Crosby Stills and Nash, Home Free covered their tune Helplessly Hoping. You really should check it out!
Hey Psycle, you're welcome! And I have more home Free on tap within a month, and Helplessly Hoping is one of the reactions I'll be doing.
Leads out of Montgomery, Alabama and once you went over the seventh bridge, you were out in the country, the road turned to dirt and there were trees with Spanish moss on them, back in the day it was written. I doubt the road is still dirt today.
You are aware that Home Free is an a capella band? Since they remind you 9f CSNY, you should hear their cover of Helplessly Hoping. It will blow you away with perfection.
This is a fantastic band. They don't use any instruments making this group very talented. Listen to Constant Sorrow, but watch the video to appreciate their talents.
It is even better with the music video.
The song's locale has been identified as Woodley Road, a rural two-lane road which runs south off East Fairview Avenue - the southern boundary of Montgomery's Cloverdale neighborhood - at Cloverdale Road, and which features seven bridges; three pairs of bridges, and the seventh approximately 1 mile south by itself.
Wow, I never would have figured that out, Lisa. Thanks for the skinny!!
Accapella fan here! I’m like you in that I grew up in the north on Rock & Roll, but I’m slowly warming up to country and this group has a lot to do with that. I would love to see your reaction to Home Free’s music video of their cover of “In The Blood” by John Mayer! It’s so profound and gorgeous!
Welcome aboard, Abi!! I'm doing another of Home Free's songs soon, but a different one. These guys are so popular it's ridiculous!
There is a road in Alabama where Hank Williams Sr. was buried at the cemetery at the end of this road called," Seven Bridges Rd.", that had seven bridges you had to cross to get to the cemetery itself. I believe it's in Montgomery, where Hank spent a lot of time and lived at some point.
Good stuff, Darlene---thanks for the scoop!
If you like Crosby, Stills and Nash, listen to Home Free's cover of Helplessly Hoping!! My personal favorite of theirs, and I have almost all of their albums!
@Glenys Hamilton Welcome to the channel, and I've got you covered!! ua-cam.com/video/4lWbLlcmxog/v-deo.html
We are also talking about The Eagles who wrote and recorded this song as a warm up tune.
Great reaction.
Did you know they are and a capella group? If you watch the video, you'll be amazed.
They have done a mashup song of fishing in the dark and boondocks. And helplessly hoping from Crosby, steals and nash
Check out Helplessly Hoping.
They are the only country A Capella band.
I am a true Home Fry.
I know this is a bit late, but why don't you react to some Home Free country music covers? Like maybe 'Fishin in the Dark/Boondocks'? Elvira? Alabama Sampler? Butts mashup? All the answers to your questions are available on Google.
Seven bridges road is in Macon ga. They are talking about the southern skies in the south
Please do In The Blood , and Man Of Constant Sorrow!
One word...Elvira!!
Gotta check out HOME FREE - RING OF FIRE
It's on the list!!
DON you need to check out HOME FREE song called MY CHURCH
HOMED FREE - MEET IN THE MIDD.,LED, DOWN TO TGHE BHONKYTON K, EVEDRFYBODY WALKIN TKS LAN D, DIAMOND DREAMS............... all country
They killed it, but after seeing the eagles live I can't get their version out of my head. Just an FYI I noticed No OnE is doing any RONNNIE MILSAP reactions!!! You might want to check out Stranger in my house or Smoky Mt rain ...
You're so right about Ronnie---he's now on the list!! Thanks for the rec.
Try In the Blood, Mayday, Can't Outrun You.
"Steve Young, then living in Montgomery, Alabama, was taken to Woodley Road, aka the "Seven Bridges Road," by some friends in the 1960s, and thus knew from first-hand experience what to write about. He remembers it as a dirt road leading into the country. Of course, the road had seven bridges, hence its name. But that is a local name, invented and used by the locals from as far back as the 1860s. Young remembers the old farmhouses, churches, streams, trees with Spanish moss, and graveyards. The area had character." www.songfacts.com/place/woodley-road-montgomery-alabama/seven-bridges-road
Hi I just subscribed
Welcome aboard, Marla!!
I hit the like button... because I like you, not the song. LOL Props to you buddy, I even like the videos you do of songs I don't necessarily care for.
Thanks, BSD!! A little encouragement goes a long way, especially from a no-nonsense dude such as yourself. Ha!
Try home free mash up fishing in the dark/ boondocks. Fabulous
As much as I love Home Free, I learned to sing this song as done by The Eagles, who I believe did it better. I was one of many that suggested they do this song but I was a bit disappointed.
You have to do Home Free, Helplessly Hoping.. It is ridiculously good. If you like Crosby Stills and Nash.. do Home Free Helplessly Hoping. The Eagles did Seven Bridges Road by the way. Helplessly Hoping link: ua-cam.com/video/kQt9jKDCqHo/v-deo.html

Somebody LOVES Home Free---ha!! I love seeing your energy for this group--it makes life so much more tolerable/enjoyable having a band we like so much. As for me not reacting to the live-vid version, it was probably because they titled it "The Eagles--Seven Bridges Road," and I assumed that that was the Eagles performing it, not Home Free. Otherwise I would have done the live version. I'll do more of their stuff, which will definitely include their live stuff. :-)
@@RockN2Country As a musician, it's
awesome how they arrange/translate
musical instrumental parts to voices,
but sound like a full band, live> Their
insane beatboxer-new to country-does
a crazy 10 min. bbox solo, too!
I came to country later, too, as a kid in
Holland, we didn't hear country music.
*Their chl has some amaazing vids!😊
@@RockN2Country: They usually put the name of the artist who performs the version they cover at the beginning, to show respect and give credit.
Road runs away from Montgomery, Ala., and supposedly fits what this song describes.
Who in the world would think it's about the southern hemisphere??? LOLOLOL
Song Info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Bridges_Road
Woodley Road, Montgomery, Alabama is what the song is actually about
After making two different Crosby, Stills, and Nash references, you really need to listen to Home Free cover "Helplessly Hoping." BTW, Seven Bridges Road is supposed to be outside Montgomery Alabama. Nice reaction video.
I’m sure others have said this but hillbillybone as a real fun country song!
Check out their "sing off" performances.
Watch the version of their Ring of Fire cover from The Sing Off.
Not sure if you knew this or not but this group has no instruments in their music. They are 100% a capella. Their beat boxer is inhuman. In man of constant sarrow he actually sounds like a harmanica. Then you got Tim who can go from a low note that will blow out your subwoffer to a high note almost on par with the greats. This band is filled with technical talent.
Yep, I knew about them not using instruments, and thanks for the additional info! :-)
check out ring of fire from home free or their cover of john mayer in the blood or man of constant of sorrow
Your timing was spot on. :-)
Please react to “country harmony”. Their base Tim Foust wrote it
The Eagles made this famous.
Why did you choose this song? I love everything they do BUT there are so many I like much more than this. Check in on "Mayday", "Ring Of Fire", "How Great Thou Art"... the list is endless. Tim Foust is an AMAZING Bass with a 5 octave range.
Some folks requested it, so i did it. I have more in store already based on other requests, but the first one I think I'm doing is Helplessly Hoping, a CSN cover.
They call themselves Country a cappella !!!
The 7 Bridges Road is in Alabama.
Confederate Railroad - Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind
Hey Karen, good timing, as I'll be posting my reaction about a week or so after the New Year. Thanks for the rec--others requested it too, so I had to move it up on my list. :-)
Seven bridges road is in Alabama and if you follow it southward it will lead you to the final resting place of Hank Williams
is this their new way of singing??
