I currently am fostering a dog that we found and need some advice. He has a few lumps on his right side and shoulder, is itchy and has raspy breathing and coughing when he gets to excited. He can't go on walks because then he starts breathing too hard. He's mostly calm and sleeps alot but follows me everywhere. The shelter has done the basic shots, heartworm test and neuter but will not look into his other issues. He did fine with the neuter thankfully. I am considering adopting him but I'm afraid he may have some major issues. They say he seems fine, likey has tracheal collapse and the lumps are likely lipomas. I guess I am concerned about major medical expenses. Is it typical to get multiple lipomas around the same area? Could this labored breathing be cancer? Edit to add he also has would seems to have bad breath. His teeth aren't terrible but he could use a cleaning. I'm reading this could be a sign of something more than just needing a cleaning. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
usually lipomas do not cause labored breathing, and it could be tracheal collapse, but it also could be something more serious, unfortunately without an exam it is too tough to say.... so sorry
Thank you. You've done a better job of giving me understanding of what my buddy may be going through. I appreciate it. 🙏
