I have been a veterinarian for over 20 years and have been a home euthanasia and vet for the last 10 years. I currently run my own home euthanasia business. DISCLAIMER: Our focus is mainly on end-of-life care in pets diagnosed with terminal diseases. In videos discussing specific diseases, our primary focus is on end-of-life questions we are commonly asked. Our videos only briefly discuss the diseases themselves, diagnosis and common treatment options. Because Veterinarian medicine is always changing and improving with specific treatments, please be sure to continue to research your pet's diagnosis. There may be new and better treatments available through your Vet, Oncologist, and Veterinary Universities with clinical trials and research. As time goes on, our posted videos are unchanging, So I encourage you to also check out disease specific forums, for many times there will be recommendations on new treatments you can discuss with your Vet, that may benefit your pet.

My German Shepherd was diagnosed in September 2024 had spleen removed, chemo and herbs. This is an evil, fast aggressive cancer. Lost our guy November 2024
how about any cat that is 10 years old gets kidney help
We are successfully treating ours with the alternative protocol we aren't allowed to talk about.
Will it be released or published soon?

This video has been so helpful. I adopted Tigger, 10.5yrs from the Humane Society one month ago. I noticed immediately that something was off, but they were not responsive. Within a week Tigger was vomiting, had loose stools so I took her to the vet, who said because of weight loss from not eating she probably had kidney disease. I had made an appointment with the Humane Vet Hospital when I adopted her and kept that appointment a week later. The vet there ran some test, but did not give me the results. I began force feeding the first week and three weeks later continue to do so. I will try again to get the results of Tigger's blood work. The vet did send me home with Lactated Ringers and prescription wet food, which Tigger won't eat on her own. I have spent more than I was prepared to already, as I am a senior on fixed income, but do not want the poor cat to suffer. I feel sucker-punched. I have learned more from your video than from the two vets I have seen. Unfortunately, Tigger was showing all the signs you mentioned from the time I brought her home. I knew something was wrong, but thought she was distressed from losing her original owner. The first vet said she was surprised the Society did not properly treat Tigger, and that they even allowed her to be adopted. Thank you again for educating me.
Just bin told my German Shepherd as this hes my best friend and the most loving dog you could have i have to take to the vet today at 3pm and i think he may not be coming home im Hart brocken
I have to do this tomorrow and my vet allows us to be with our dog. It’s two shots they give I had to do this 3 times within 3 months. I’m effing devastated and so broken. I didn’t even have time to grieve the 1st dog I lost to cushings then my 18 yr Chi died in my arms at home out of nowhere. We didn’t even see that coming and now my Yorkie has stage 4 kidney failure and we did everything we could to save him 4 days of fluids in hospital and the 1st two days looked promising and then he started to decline again. He’s BUN started at 50 and now they 156. He’s dying. We got test results back on a Sat and we decided to give him a feeding stimulant to help him to eat over the weekend so we could spend our last days with him. We’re gonna spoil him rotten today. Fast food, ride to the beach, and lots of loving. My vet gives one shot to relax them and then the next one stops his heart. There’s no way in hell could I not be with my pet till the very end. My once filled house who ive dedicated all my time we love too, was taken from me within three months. My house is empty now and so is my heart and soul.
Thank you for this video! I am going through this now with my 18.5 year old cat. He wont tolerate pills and I was giving him Azodyl for awhile but he started hiding from me. I took him in today due to he has been drinking and peeing a lot, has been having incontinence now also. They gave him desmopressin and standard renal product. Going to try this for 5 days then go back. I dont want him to suffer though, so I have started thinking about what I might have to do in the near future. :(
Have you ever thought about alternatives like Ivermectin or Fenbendazol??
My dog died from it last Wednesday. I hired a pathologist to perform a necropsy and she had a tumor in one of her heart chambers. The day of her death .. she was chasing squirrels.. wrestling with one of her fur friends everything . Later that night it just went down hill . Such a nasty cancer .. we were not ready not at all . Such a sweet soul she was 😢❤
Nov '24. My Lily age 17+ had CKD. All the signs. Weight loss, bad breath, drinking lots of water, urinating constantly, wobbly walk, and then she suddenly collapsed although up until that day, she was coping. Rushed to the Vet. Euthanize was the humane step to take.
really great information thank you so so much and I also want to thank you for your service to our family pets. You obviously have a huge heart and love for animals and when I reached out to a euthanasia and traveling vet service, it was the most wonderful experience, any of us have ever had with our Pet and I know that might sound kind of strange to some people, but to have such a wonderful last experience, made all the difference in the world about how we felt about euthanasia and hospice and I am so thankful for veterinarians like yourself, and I can appreciate everything that goes into that you are amazing!!
My sisters dog has just been diagnosed with this, there is nothing they can do for him. He is quite poorly, he cant keep nothing down, he drinks he throws up. He eats he throws up. He cant hardly stand up. And the worst thing is that hes only 2 years old. Hes only a baby still 😭 but thank you for this video.
This was a tough video to watch I’m watching and my boy has already been gone for 7 months now. I miss him maybe that’s why I’m watching these videos, maybe I’m questioning if I did enough…
Would love to chat with you or anyone about your experience with Fibrosarcoma and your course of action. My boy has been diagnosed at 10.5 years old. Tongue mass discovered during a dental cleaning. Sample showing numbers higher than most cases. Been to the dental specialist who consulted oncologist who has highly recommended electro-chemo injections after the surgical removal of 3-5cm of his tongue. In great health otherwise. Blood panels and chest x-rays are all good. Hardest decision I’ve ever faced. Thanks for your opinion. If you’d have any advice from experience I’d greatly appreciate it… Thanks!
Just had to put our 11.7 year old Golden/Lab mix down this morning due to HSA. At this time yesterday, we knew nothing about this at all and today he's in Heaven. So sad. Cancer sucks...
Mine got diagnosed with atypical Hemangiosarcoma sarcoma and she had lump in her throat which they removed. She’s been great since! 2.5 years after she’s playful , she eats great , she’s happy and I just don’t know when it’s going to hit her. She’s a shihtzu , she’s now 9 years old. I just don’t know what to expect :(, I feel like it’s going to hit any day but she’s been great and playful.
My 20 year old doggo was struggling with arthritis and dementia ... he was fine for the previous 19 years (taking out the obvious slowdown) but the last year things started to advance at an increased pace. He started getting seizures once a month, struggled to walk/eat, became more and more blind and deaf... he would stumble while walking, and eventually be unable to stand up or walk on his own. Towards the end, he stop eating and drinking and i knew what was coming. I decided to do him the favor and put him to sleep, staying with him until the very end. 20 Years is a lot of time, and watching him go completely devastated me, but given enough time i managed to understand that it was the right thing to do, and to forgive myself rather than blame me for doing it.
I lost my beautiful girl who was only 6, a month ago. I adopted Bisskie not even a year ago and she suddenly showed all these symptoms and was gone in 4 days. My vet said she was in end stage 4 and there was nothing that could be done for her. I'm blessed to have had her for the short time I did, heartbreaking 🐾💔😭
My baby will be 9 in 2 weeks she’s a mini shitzu
I was just told today my dog has a mass on her spleen that could rupture any day, but the surgery to remove the spleen is 10,000 dollars and i dont have it, so they want me to have her put down tomorrow. Im so torn because it seems like she could have more time before it seems right to do that....im so torn i dont want her to suffer but i cant stand the thought of stealing away even one of her days😢
I am so sorry
The sweetest of all the cats I’ve ever had is probably approaching end stage. I’ve been unable to give her fluids so have been bringing her in for the tech visits. Not sustainable $$ I hate this part. I feel so bad for my other cats because I am inconsolable. My BPD is tearing me apart. I’m kinda pissed because I’ve made her symptoms clear to my vet for quite some time. It seems there were things they could have suggested sooner. This video will help me to not prolong her suffering. I hope.

Just found out today, 9/12/24 that my precious baby Kyly has Hemangiosarcoma. Our family is devastated. She is only 5 years old. Torn between chemo or just letting her go peacefully. Thank you for the video.
I honestly think the processed pet foods are a part of the problem. Low quality ingredients
I was giving my cat cooked beef, the fat was renderd out. Then i find out that ckd was caused by phosphates in the meat. So was it that or the fancy feast? Who knows she's gone and Im sad.
I am agree with you it is the food I am using always Royal but after covid the qualities is down hill, Both if my cats at the same time has kidney failure by one has also heart failure . The are now on foremost cerenia Mirada and furosemide. We notice they are changi g their behavior. Yakes3

Good intel, much appreciated.
My cat crashed, then rallied for a few weeks then crashed. I appreciate this video. I knew it was time when she struggled to walk and hung her head often. not everyone's experience will be the same but she showed me when it was time and passed so very peacefully. I gave her gabapentin prior to avoid theatrics and it was honestly so calming. I love you, Zoey.
My dog had a rupture at 15 years old in September 2022. She had to stay over night and they got her out of shock. The vet told me it would be days to months. I got almost 2 years with her she was just put to sleep last week. She was on yunnan baiyao and i’m Yunity. Thanks for explaining this so well. I recently cut back on the yunnan baiyao from 4 a day to 1 a day. I felt horrible like I caused this to happen again. But it sounds like it wouldn’t have prevented the rupture. Either way she isn’t suffering anymore . The last year she was really declining not it pain but not herself. She was 17 a pitbill so I was fortunate. I declined the transfusion because I felt like it would just be cruel to put her though that. The vet agreed she felt she was uncomfortable her liver and spleen read a mess on the X-ray. She’s free now
My dog has Pulmonary hypertension and is on meds sildenafil 20 mg a day and clopidogrel 7mg a day...she coughs all day, gets out of breath where I had to give her oxygen. She is currently on Doxycycline 100 mg 1/2 two times a day and prednisone. Whatever is showing up is in the lungs is growing. I had an ultra sound and multiple xrays and STILL no DIAGNOSIS! Her blood work is fine. But the cardiologist and radiologist still have not given me any answers. What can I do??? She still eating and active...but she does those stretching.
I have a very much loved 18 year old cat with oral cancer ...breaks my heart the time is almost over.he is five months in still active eating and drinking he does paw occasionally at his jaw is there a natural remedy I could give him to alleviate his discomfort
I have a question, What is the shortest amount of interaction you would have with a cat before determining that euthanasia is necessary? What signs and symptoms would lead you to that conclusion?
This is really helpful. I didn't think I could watch it but I'm glad I did now. I'm giving my cat subcutaneous fluids and I'm worried it is making her life miserable, although I think she feels better. But she is 18 and I am noticing the signs you talked about in your video. I am lucky I have a good vet.
It depends on stage of renal insuffisance. Mine was 14 yo, was diagnosed with stage 4 one month ago, then I put her to sleep yesterday. I had great hopes, watched all videos here, bought a lot of stuff, gave fluids every day, yet from the moment she stops to eat and hides for all day on places she never went before, then all she does is drink then pee 5 seconds later, its terrible to see her suffer so much. Now I learned that if you care about your cat, do exams every year, so you can prevent. I thought she was indestructible, this is the first pet I lose. Good luck with your cat, but dont expect miracles, this illness is an abomination.
@@Paroles_et_Musique I'm so sorry. I had to put my cat to sleep too, 3 weeks ago. It's very hard. Take care, we love our kitties so much. ❤❤
Dr's and oncologist will not go against big pharma bout ivermectin and Fenbedazole. Our dog has Hemangiosarcoma on his heart. I got him on ivermectin and fenbedazole and the vets at U of I said no but couldn't tell us why not to use it. . people use this stuff and save your life and animals life. every one is out for the big money
This is very interesting to me because my baby had the worst cancer in her mouth that he can't could ever have and she suffered so much oh it was horrible and at the end it was just the same as it is if she had treatment but anyway I did find this interesting and try to tell everybody
Thank you for this great video. My cat was diagnosed with stage 2 but is vomiting so much. Can this make sense at stage 2?? She just finished 42 days of Baytril for a urine infection. She is suddenly wanting to sleep with me. She never did before.
im doing this for my best friend on friday
So sorry for your loss. Hope you are working though the grief.
I’m sorry for your loss. Sunday is our day. :( (also Texas)
@@luxmunkso sorry. Monday is my day and I’m broken over it
Thank you very, very much for the clear information. Our big boy is 11 a Pyrenees mix with an already ruptured tumor. We chose to bring him home tonight and return if he shows distress as you described. I've heard it was fast and aggressive. We shall see. Thank you again.
Hello, My name is Pablo Dona. My little baby sophie (13 yeats old American Hairless Terrier). she was diagnosed with a tumor on the spleen about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I did x-ray, ultrasound and they said seems to be just in the spleen. I’m deciding on doing or not the surgery. the odd of being benign tumor are very low (they said 20-25%). I don’t want to persuade chemotherapy, it would be too much for her. she is eating (using a appetite stimulant). some days she is like normal amd i have actually slow her down because she wants to chase squirrels etc. other days her morning are slow as well as at night. I don’t know if it’s a good idea to do the surgery expecting a benign tumor as a result, which will cure, or let her enjoy whatever is left with us, the park, her toys etc. she is a fighter and when feels good she wants to live but I want to make sure i choose what’s best first her not for me. she comes to work with me every day since she was a puppy she is extremely attached to me as well as i am to her. I love her with my entire being. Please any advice would be very appreciated thank you so much pablo dona
So How Many tests is it per visit per year & How much More or less.?? I guess even a cat is for Rich people nowadays. Other videos I just watched said get high protein cans..
In canada its about $815 for all tests, $50 per blood test. To find kidney failure cat stage 4, we just paid $815, and $ 176 for stage 4 euthanasia. $$$$ 😮
Thank you
We NEVER used to have these problems before....my dogs used to live long lives...no bumps ...no cancer....you SHOULD be helping us to prevent this...like oh ...idk...how about the FACT that the dog foods we buy from the stores have PESTICIDES in them....how about that it's poisoning that's causing all these poor animals...pisses me off you Vets charge us soooo stupidly much to try to save our dogs and yet all the crap you do does nothing. Even the foods you all push. NOT because of aging....soo insane ...you people charge $$1100.00 and up just for a scan...you cut into cancerous cells knowing it makes it spread...proof is out there...$8,000...for surgery that will never help....shame on you vets....just shame....
Thank you. You've done a better job of giving me understanding of what my buddy may be going through. I appreciate it. 🙏
One our cats passed last year from CKD, she was barely 2 years old. We live in an area where the Vets are not very helpful with it either, my local vet immediately suggested euthanizing her. I did my homework and did what I could for her, tried to change her diet but she wasn't eating much. I was giving her supplments along with fluids every other day at home for a few months, which did seem to help her, but the CKD was too advanced and we lost her. It's a horrible disease.
I’m wondering if feeding our cats fish is contributing to CKD? My 12 year of cat is having issues now as well, and I looked up how mercury can affect the organs, and one of the organs it affects is the kidney. My cats love the fish cat food I feed them, but is it safe? I’m stopping all fish pet food for my cats and dogs. It’s just a thought - not saying you gave your cat fish, but it’s something I’m definitely going to do more research on.
@@Pax0122 No, fish in general isn't good for them, neither is dry kibble. A raw diet can be beneficial.
@@fi7959 Thanks for the info!
I am so sorry for your loss - and just a baby! So, so sad. Pet owners need to know that there are commercial cat and dog food issues and recalls that aren't being made known, causing serious illness, organ failure AND death of pets. I wonder if your poor little girl was a victim of bad food. Follow vet Dr. Judy Morgan and sign up for her food alerts and learn how to feed a healthy feline diet. Two Crazy Cat Ladies have lots of info, as well. PLZ, people, dry kibble is NOT appropriate for cats.
When i took my little JJ to the vet, i was hoping for a miracle but i knew deep inside he wouldnt be coming home. The vet was very good and let me spend time with him before the big sleep. He went peacefully and my heart broke But i knew he was not suffering any more. It really is devastating when you lose a pet. ❤❤ miss you baby boy.❤
I'm very sorry for your loss. I have experienced that every day it gets a little easier. My kitty Baby Rye passed away 5 weeks ago. I miss him but I know that he is no longer in pain. Many blessings to you
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm currently making this decision and my heart is already breaking.
@@freedomwarrior5087 thankyou, it still hurts and sometimes I get a very strong urge to be able to cuddle him one more time. I have 2 other dogs that miss him as well. It is getting easier, but the pain physically and mentally was so strong. I still haven't been able to put his bed, bowls, leads and coats away yet. I hope everything goes well with your pet.
I just want to thank you for this video. I lost my dog to this 3 days ago. It came out of nowhere. I had so many questions and guilt. This video has helped me understand. I miss my souldog so much. But i'm happy he is no longer suffering
Great presentation, thank you.from UK.🐱
Just lost my 6 year old German shepherd to this, she was acting completely fine one morning and been eating all her food. The next hour she was struggling to breath, stomach extended, white gums, couldn’t walk/stand. Rushed her to the hospital and was told she has mass on her spleen and liver that ruptured and she was hemorrhaging / internally bleeding and there was nothing they could do. Was the worse day of my life. In an hour I went from thinking she’s good to her dying. Everything just happened so fast
What would make some situations result in a sudden death whereas others aren't that way? Our 11 year old died last week suddenly; we were playing ball just like we'd done every day for her whole life, and she collapsed while running. We rushed to the ER but she died in under an hour from collapse. No symptoms or signs, always on her routine and walked and played a lot daily. It's really hard to understand and harder to deal with the sadness.
My dog had splenectomy 10 days ago and histology of the tumour that ruptured, diagnosed hemangiosarcoma. He’s home but not the happy dog he was. We can see a distended tummy this last day but he’s still eating & can get comfort to sleep. We feel torn with decisions of when to euthanise to avoid seeing him so bad it’s clear. Thank you for the video
14 year old blue heeler with a walnut sized tumor that often bleeds. Our local vet is a super nice guy, and we opted to let him live his best life by not try to cut it out as long as he can eat and rest without too much discomfort. It's been several months....and he's still with us......and is getting a bit more brittle all the time, but honestly......he over 14 now and would have been in far more pain just to have cut his jaw up. I hope he makes it a bit longer.....he's awesome.
